Jozuego 10
1 A gdy usłyszał Adonisedek, król Jerozolimski, iż wziął Jozue Haj, i zburzył je, (bo jako uczynił Jerychowi i królowi jego, tak uczynił Hajowi i królowi jego, ) a iż uczynili pokój obywatele Gabaon z Izraelem, i mieszkają w pośrodku ich;
And it comes to pass, when Adoni-Zedek king of Jerusalem hears that Joshua has captured Ai, and devotes it (as he had done to Jericho and to her king so he has done to Ai and to her king), and that the inhabitants of Gibeon have made peace with Israel, and are in their midst—
2 Tedy się uląkł bardzo, przeto że miasto wielkie było Gabaon, jako jedno z miast królewskich, a że było większe niż Haj, a wszyscy mężowie jego waleczni.
that they are greatly afraid, because Gibeon [is] a great city, as one of the royal cities, and because it [is] greater than Ai, and all its men [are] heroes.
3 Przetoż posłał Adonisedek, król Jerozolimski, do Hohama, króla Hebron, i do Faran, króla Jerymota, i do Jafija, króla Lachys, i do Dabir, króla Eglon, mówiąc:
And Adoni-Zedek king of Jerusalem sends to Hoham king of Hebron, and to Piram king of Jarmuth, and to Japhia king of Lachish, and to Debir king of Eglon, saying,
4 Przyjedźcie do mnie, a dajcie mi pomoc, abyśmy pobili Gabaonity, którzy uczynili pokój z Jozuem, i z syny Izraelskimi.
“Come up to me, and help me, and we strike Gibeon, for it has made peace with Joshua, and with the sons of Israel.”
5 Zebrało się tedy, a wyciągnęło pięć królów Amorejskich, król Jerozolimski, król Hebron, król Jerymot, król Lachys, król Eglon, sami, i wszystkie wojska ich, i położyli się obozem u Gabaon, i dobywali go.
And five kings of the Amorite (the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, the king of Eglon) are gathered together, and go up, they and all their camps, and encamp against Gibeon, and fight against it.
6 Tedy posłali obywatele Gabaon do Jozuego, i do obozu w Galgal, mówiąc: Nie zawściągaj ręki swej od sług twoich; przyciągnij do nich rychło, a wybaw nas i pomóż nam; boć się zebrali przeciwko nam wszyscy królowie Amorejscy, którzy mieszkają po górach.
And the men of Gibeon send to Joshua, to the camp at Gilgal, saying, “Do not let your hand cease from your servants; come up to us [with] haste, and give safety to us, and help us; for all the kings of the Amorite, dwelling in the hill-country, have been assembled against us.”
7 Ruszył się tedy Jozue z Galgal, sam i wszystek lud wojenny z nim, i wszyscy mężowie waleczni.
And Joshua goes up from Gilgal, he, and all the people of war with him, even all the mighty men of valor.
8 (Bo był rzekł Pan do Jozuego: Nie bój się ich; albowiem w ręce twoje podałem je, a nie ostoi się żaden z nich przed tobą.)
And YHWH says to Joshua, “Do not be afraid of them, for I have given them into your hand, there does not stand a man of them in your presence.”
9 I przypadł na nie Jozue nagle; bo całą noc ciągnął z Galgal.
And Joshua comes to them suddenly (all the night he has gone up from Gilgal),
10 I potrwożył je Pan przed obliczem Izraela, który je poraził porażką wielką w Gabaon, i gonił je drogą, którą chodzą ku Betoron, a bił je aż do Aseka i aż do Maceda.
and YHWH crushes them before Israel, and strikes them [with] a great striking at Gibeon, and pursues them the way of the ascent of Beth-Horon, and strikes them to Azekah, and to Makkedah.
11 I stało się, gdy uciekali przed Izraelem, bieżąc z góry do Betoron, że Pan spuścił na nie kamienie wielkie z nieba aż do Aseka, i umierali; więcej ich pomarło od kamienia gradowego, niż ich pobili synowie Izraelscy mieczem.
And it comes to pass, in their fleeing from the face of Israel—they [are] in the descent of Beth-Horon—and YHWH has cast great stones on them out of the heavens, to Azekah, and they die; more are they who have died by the hailstones than they whom the sons of Israel have slain by the sword.
12 Tedy mówił Jozue do Pana, dnia, którego podał Pan Amorejczyka w ręce synom Izraelskim, i rzekł przed oczyma Izraela: Słońce w Gabaon zastanów się, a miesiącu w dolinie Ajalon!
Then Joshua speaks to YHWH in the day of YHWH’s giving up the Amorites before the sons of Israel, and he says before the eyes of Israel, “Sun—stand still in Gibeon; and moon—in the Valley of Ajalon”;
13 I zastanowiło się słońce, a miesiąc stanął, aż się lud pomścił nad nieprzyjacioły swymi. Izali to nie jest napisano w księgach sprawiedliwego? Tedy stanęło słońce w pośród nieba, a nie pospieszyło się zachodzić, jakoby przez cały dzień.
and the sun stands still, and the moon has stood—until the nation takes vengeance [on] its enemies; is it not written on the Scroll of the Upright, “and the sun stands in the midst of the heavens, and has not hurried to go in—as a perfect day?”
14 I nie był takowy dzień przedtem, ani potem, w któryby usłuchać miał Pan głosu człowieczego, bo Pan walczył za Izraelem.
And there has not been like that day before it or after it, for YHWH’s listening to the voice of a man; for YHWH is fighting for Israel.
15 Potem się wrócił Jozue, i wszystek Izrael z nim, do obozu do Galgal.
And Joshua turns back, and all Israel with him, to the camp at Gilgal.
16 A uciekło było onych pięć królów, i skryli się w jaskinią przy Maceda.
And these five kings flee, and are hidden in a cave at Makkedah,
17 I dano znać Jozuemu, mówiąc: Znaleziono pięć królów, którzy się pokryli w jaskini w Maceda.
and it is declared to Joshua, saying, “The five kings have been found hidden in a cave at Makkedah.”
18 I rzekł Jozue: Przywalcie kamienie wielkie do dziury jaskini, a postawcie u niej męże, aby ich strzegli.
And Joshua says, “Roll great stones to the mouth of the cave, and appoint men over it to watch them;
19 A wy nie stójcie, gońcie nieprzyjacioły wasze, a bijcie ostatek ich, ani im dajcie uchodzić do miast ich; boć je podał Pan, Bóg wasz, w rękę waszę.
and you, do not stand, pursue after your enemies, and you have struck them from the rear; do not permit them to go into their cities, for your God YHWH has given them into your hand.”
20 A gdy przestał Jozue z syny Izraelskimi bić ich porażką bardzo wielką, aż je do szczętu wytracili, a którzy żywo zostali z nich, uszli do miast obronnych;
And it comes to pass, when Joshua and the sons of Israel finish to strike them [with] a very great striking until they are consumed, and the remnant who have remained of them go into the fortified cities,
21 Tedy wrócił się wszystek lud zdrowo do obozu, do Jozuego w Maceda, a nie ruszył przeciwko synom Izraelskim nikt językiem swoim.
that all the people return to the camp, to Joshua, [at] Makkedah, in peace; none moved his tongue sharply against the sons of Israel.
22 Potem rzekł Jozue: Otwórzcie tę dziurę jaskini, a wywiedźcie do mnie tych pięciu królów z jaskini.
And Joshua says, “Open the mouth of the cave, and bring out to me these five kings from the cave”;
23 I uczynili tak, i wywiedli do niego pięciu królów onych z jaskini, króla Jerozolimskiego, króla Hebron, króla Jerymot, króla Lachys, króla Eglon.
and they do so, and bring out to him these five kings from the cave: the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, the king of Eglon.
24 A gdy wywiedli one króle do Jozuego, tedy przyzwał Jozue wszystkich mężów Izraelskich, i rzekł do rotmistrzów, mężów walecznych, którzy z nim chodzili: Przystąpcie sam, a nastąpcie nogami waszemi na szyje tych królów; którzy przystąpiwszy nastąpili nogami swemi na szyje ich.
And it comes to pass, when they bring out these kings to Joshua, that Joshua calls to every man of Israel, and says to the captains of the men of war, who have gone with him, “Draw near, set your feet on the necks of these kings”; and they draw near, and set their feet on their necks.
25 Zatem rzekł do nich Jozue: Nie bójcie się, ani się lękajcie; zmacniajcie się, i mężnie sobie poczynajcie; boć tak uczyni Pan wszystkim nieprzyjaciołom waszym, przeciw którym walczycie.
And Joshua says to them, “Do not fear, nor be frightened; be strong and courageous; for thus does YHWH do to all your enemies with whom you are fighting”;
26 Potem pobił je Jozue, i pomordował je, i zawiesił je na pięciu drzewach, a wisieli na drzewach aż do wieczora.
and Joshua strikes them afterward, and puts them to death, and hangs them on five trees; and they are hanging on the trees until the evening.
27 A gdy zaszło słońce, rozkazał Jozue, że je złożono z drzewa, i wrzucono je do jaskini, w której się byli skryli, a zawalono kamieńmi wielkiemi dziurę u jaskini, które tam są jeszcze i do dnia tego.
And it comes to pass, at the time of the going in of the sun, Joshua has commanded, and they take them down from off the trees, and cast them into the cave where they had been hid, and put great stones on the mouth of the cave until this very day.
28 Tegoż dnia wziął Jozue Maceda, i wysiekł je ostrzem miecza, i króla ich zamordował wespół z nimi, i wszelką duszę, która była w niem; nie zostawił żadnego żywo, i uczynił królowi Maceda, jako uczynił królowi Jerycha.
And Joshua has captured Makkedah on that day, and he strikes it by the mouth of the sword, and he has devoted its king, them and every person who [is] in it—he has not left a remnant; and he does to the king of Makkedah as he did to the king of Jericho.
29 Potem ciągnął Jozue, i wszystek Izrael z nim, z Maceda do Lebny, i dobywał Lebny.
And Joshua passes over, and all Israel with him, from Makkedah [to] Libnah, and fights with Libnah;
30 A podał Pan i ono w ręce Izraela, i króla jego, i wysiekł je ostrzem miecza, i wszelką duszę, która była w niem; nie zostawił w niem żadnego żywo, i uczynił królowi jego, jako uczynił królowi Jerycha.
and YHWH also gives it into the hand of Israel, and its king, and [Joshua] strikes it by the mouth of the sword, and every person who [is] in it—he does not leave a remnant in it; and he does to its king as he did to the king of Jericho.
31 Potem ciągnął Jozue, i wszystek Izrael z nim, z Lebny do Lachys, a położywszy się przy niem obozem, dobywał go.
And Joshua passes over, and all Israel with him, from Libnah to Lachish, and encamps against it, and fights against it.
32 I podał Pan Lachys w ręce Izraela, i wziął je dnia drugiego, i wysiekli je ostrzem miecza, i wszelką duszę, która była w niem, tak właśnie jako uczynił Lebnie.
And YHWH gives Lachish into the hand of Israel, and [Joshua] captures it on the second day, and strikes it by the mouth of the sword, and every person who [is] in it, according to all that he did to Libnah.
33 Tedy przyszedł Horam, król Gazer, na ratunek Lachysowi, ale go poraził Jozue, i lud jego, tak iż nie zostawił mu żadnego żywo.
Then Horam king of Gezer has come up to help Lachish, and Joshua strikes him and his people, until he has not left a remnant to him.
34 Potem ciągnął Jozue, i wszystek Izrael z nim, z Lachys do Eglon, i położyli się obozem przeciwko niemu, i dobywali go;
And Joshua passes over, and all Israel with him, from Lachish to Eglon, and they encamp against it, and fight against it,
35 Które wziąwszy onegoż dnia, wysiekli je ostrzem miecza, i wszelką duszę, która była w niem, onegoż dnia zabił, tak właśnie jako uczynił Lachys.
and capture it on that day, and strike it by the mouth of the sword, and every person who [is] in it he has devoted on that day, according to all that he did to Lachish.
36 Potem się ruszył Jozue, i wszystek Izrael z nim, z Eglonu do Hebronu, i dobywał go;
And Joshua goes up, and all Israel with him, from Eglon to Hebron, and they fight against it,
37 I wzięli je, a wysiekli je ostrzem miecza, i króla jego, i wszystkie miasta jego, i wszelką duszę, która była w niem; nie zostawił żadnego żywo, tak właśnie jako uczynił Eglonowi, i wytracił je, i wszelką duszę, która w niem była.
and capture it, and strike it by the mouth of the sword, and its king, and all its cities, and every person who [is] in it—he has not left a remnant—according to all that he did to Eglon—and devotes it, and every person who [is] in it.
38 Stamtąd obrócił się Jozue, i wszystek Izrael z nim, do Dabir, i dobywał go.
And Joshua turns back, and all Israel with him, to Debir, and fights against it,
39 I wziął je, i króla jego, i wszystkie miasta jego, i wysiekli je ostrzem miecza, i pomordował wszystkie dusze, które w niem były; nie zostawił żadnego żywo; jako uczynił Hebronowi tak uczynił Dabirowi i królowi jego, i jako uczynił Lebnie i królowi jego.
and captures it, and its king, and all its cities, and they strike them by the mouth of the sword, and devote every person who [is] in it—he has not left a remnant; as he did to Hebron so he did to Debir, and to its king, and as he did to Libnah, and to its king.
40 A tak pobił Jozue wszystkę ziemię górną, i południową, i polną, i podgórną, i wszystkie króle ich; nie zostawił żadnego żywo, ale wszystkie dusze wytracił, jako mu był przykazał Pan, Bóg Izraelski.
And Joshua strikes all the land of the hill-country, and of the south, and of the low-country, and of the springs, and all their kings—he has not left a remnant, and he has devoted all that breathe, as YHWH, God of Israel, commanded.
41 I poraził je Jozue od Kades Barny aż do Gazy, i wszystkę ziemię Gosen, i aż do Gabaon.
And Joshua strikes them from Kadesh-Barnea, even to Gaza, and all the land of Goshen, even to Gibeon;
42 A wszystkie te króle, i ziemie ich, wziął Jozue jednym razem; albowiem Pan, Bóg Izraelski, walczył za Izraelem.
and Joshua has captured all these kings and their land [at] one time, for YHWH, God of Israel, is fighting for Israel.
43 Zatem się wrócił Jozue i wszystek Izrael z nim do obozu do Galgal.
And Joshua turns back, and all Israel with him, to the camp at Gilgal.
