1 Na początku było Słowo, a ono Słowo było u Boga, a Bogiem było ono Słowo.
In the beginning was that Word, and that Word was with God, and that Word was God.
2 To było na początku u Boga.
This same was in the beginning with God.
3 Wszystkie rzeczy przez nie się stały, a bez niego nic się nie stało, co się stało.
All things were made by it, and without it was made nothing that was made.
4 W niem był żywot, a żywot był oną światłością ludzką.
In it was life, and that life was the light of men.
5 A ta światłość w ciemnościach świeci, ale ciemności jej nie ogarnęły.
And that light shineth in the darkenesse, and the darkenesse comprehended it not.
6 Był człowiek posłany od Boga, któremu imię było Jan.
There was a man sent from God, whose name was Iohn.
7 Ten przyszedł na świadectwo, aby świadczył o tej światłości, aby przezeń wszyscy uwierzyli.
This same came for a witnesse, to beare witnesse of that light, that all men through him might beleeue.
8 Nie byłci on tą światłością, ale przyszedł, aby świadczył o tej światłości.
He was not that light, but was sent to beare witnesse of that light.
9 Tenci był tą prawdziwą światłością, która oświeca każdego człowieka, przychodzącego na świat.
This was that true light, which lighteth euery man that commeth into the world.
10 Na świecie był, a świat przezeń uczyniony jest; ale go świat nie poznał.
He was in the world, and the worlde was made by him: and the worlde knewe him not.
11 Do swej własności przyszedł, ale go właśni jego nie przyjęli.
He came vnto his owne, and his owne receiued him not.
12 Lecz którzykolwiek go przyjęli, dał im tę moc, aby się stali synami Bożymi, to jest tym, którzy wierzą w imię jego.
But as many as receiued him, to them he gaue prerogatiue to be the sonnes of God, euen to them that beleeue in his Name.
13 Którzy nie z krwi, ani z woli ciała, ani z woli męża, ale z Boga narodzeni są.
Which are borne not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of ye wil of man, but of God.
14 A to Słowo ciałem się stało, i mieszkało między nami, i widzieliśmy chwałę jego, chwałę jako jednorodzonego od Ojca, pełne łaski i prawdy.
And that Word was made flesh, and dwelt among vs, (and we sawe the glorie thereof, as the glorie of the onely begotten Sonne of the Father) full of grace and trueth.
15 Jan świadczył o nim, i wołał, mówiąc: Tenci był, o którymem powiadał: Który po mnie przyszedłszy, uprzedził mię; bo pierwej był niż ja.
Iohn bare witnesse of him, and cryed, saying, This was he of whom I said, He that commeth after me, was before me: for he was better then I.
16 A z pełności jego myśmy wszyscy wzięli i łaskę za łaskę.
And of his fulnesse haue all we receiued, and grace for grace.
17 Albowiem zakon przez Mojżesza jest dany, a łaska i prawda przez Jezusa Chrystusa stała się.
For the Lawe was giuen by Moses, but grace, and trueth came by Iesus Christ.
18 Boga nikt nigdy nie widział: on jednorodzony syn, który jest w łonie ojcowskiem, ten nam opowiedział.
No man hath seene God at any time: that onely begotten Sonne, which is in the bosome of the Father, he hath declared him.
19 A toć jest świadectwo Janowe, gdy posłali Żydzi z Jeruzalemu kapłany i Lewity, aby go pytali: Ty ktoś jest?
Then this is the record of Iohn, when the Iewes sent Priestes and Leuites from Hierusalem, to aske him, Who art thou?
20 I wyznał, a nie zaprzał, a wyznał, żem ja nie jest Chrystus.
And he confessed and denied not, and said plainely, I am not that Christ.
21 I pytali go: Cóżeś tedy? Elijasześ ty? A on rzekł: Nie jestem. A oni: Prorokiemeś ty? i odpowiedział: Nie jestem.
And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he said, I am not. Art thou that Prophet? And he answered, No.
22 Rzekli mu tedy: Któżeś jest, żebyśmy odpowiedź dali tym, którzy nas posłali? Cóż wżdy powiadasz o sobie?
Then said they vnto him, Who art thou, that we may giue an answere to them that sent vs? What sayest thou of thy selfe?
23 Rzekł: Jam jest głos wołającego na puszczy: Prostujcie drogę Pańską, jako powiedział Izajasz prorok.
He said, I am the voyce of him that cryeth in the wildernesse, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the Prophet Esaias.
24 A ci, którzy byli posłani, byli z Faryzeuszów.
Nowe they which were sent, were of the Pharises.
25 I pytali go i rzekli mu: Czemuż tedy chrzcisz, jeźliżeś ty nie jest Chrystus, ani Elijasz, ani prorok?
And they asked him, and saide vnto him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou be not that Christ, neither Elias, nor that Prophet?
26 Odpowiedział im Jan, mówiąc: Jać chrzczę wodą; ale w pośrodku was stoi, którego wy nie znacie.
Iohn answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there is one among you, whom ye knowe not.
27 Tenci jest, który po mnie przyszedłszy, uprzedził mię, któremum ja nie jest godzien, żebym rozwiązał rzemyk obuwia jego.
He it is that commeth after me, which was before me, whose shoe latchet I am not worthie to vnloose.
28 To się stało w Betabarze za Jordanem, gdzie Jan chrzcił.
These things were done in Bethabara beyond Iordan, where Iohn did baptize.
29 A nazajutrz ujrzał Jan Jezusa idącego do siebie, i rzekł: Oto Baranek Boży, który gładzi grzech świata.
The next day Iohn, seeth Iesus comming vnto him, and saith, Beholde that Lambe of God, which taketh away the sinne of the world.
30 Tenci jest, o którymem powiadał, że idzie za mną mąż, który mię uprzedził; bo pierwej był niż ja.
This is he of whom I saide, After me commeth a man, which was before me: for he was better then I.
31 A jam go nie znał; ale aby był objawiony Izraelowi, dlategom ja przyszedł, chrzcząc wodą.
And I knewe him not: but because he should be declared to Israel, therefore am I come, baptizing with water.
32 I świadczył Jan, mówiąc: Widziałem Ducha zstępującego jako gołębicę z nieba, i został na nim.
So Iohn bare recorde, saying, I behelde that Spirit come downe from heauen, like a doue, and it abode vpon him,
33 A jam go nie znał; ale który mię posłał chrzcić wodą, ten mi rzekł: Na kogo byś ujrzał Ducha zstępującego i zostającego na nim, tenci jest, który chrzci Duchem Świętym.
And I knewe him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, he saide vnto me, Vpon whom thou shalt see that Spirit come downe, and tary still on him, that is he which baptizeth with the holy Ghost.
34 A jam widział i świadczył, że ten jest Syn Boży.
And I sawe, and bare record that this is that Sonne of God.
35 Nazajutrz zasię stał Jan i dwaj z uczniów jego.
The next day, Iohn stoode againe, and two of his disciples.
36 A ujrzawszy Jezusa chodzącego, rzekł: Oto Baranek Boży.
And he behelde Iesus walking by, and said, Beholde that Lambe of God.
37 I słyszeli go oni dwaj uczniowie mówiącego, i szli za Jezusem.
And the two disciples heard him speake, and followed Iesus.
38 A obróciwszy się Jezus i ujrzawszy je za sobą idące, rzekł do nich: Czego szukacie? A oni mu rzekli: Rabbi! (co się wykłada: Mistrzu), gdzie mieszkasz?
Then Iesus turned about, and saw them follow, and saide vnto them, What seeke ye? And they saide vnto him, Rabbi (which is to say by interpretation, Master) where dwellest thou?
39 Rzekł im: Pójdźcie, a oglądajcie. I szli i widzieli, gdzie mieszkał, a zostali przy nim onego dnia; bo było około dziesiątej godziny.
He saide vnto them, Come, and see. They came and sawe where hee dwelt, and abode with him that day: for it was about the tenth houre.
40 A był Andrzej, brat Szymona Piotra, jeden z onych dwóch, którzy to słyszeli od Jana, i szli byli za nim.
Andrew, Simon Peters brother, was one of the two which had heard it of Iohn, and that followed him.
41 Ten najpierw znalazł Szymona, brata swego własnego, i rzekł mu: Znaleźliśmy Mesyjasza, co się wykłada Chrystus.
The same founde his brother Simon first, and said vnto him, We haue founde that Messias, which is by interpretation, that Christ.
42 I przywiódł go do Jezusa. A wejrzawszy nań Jezus, rzekł: Tyś jest Szymon, syn Jonasza; ty będziesz nazwany Kiefas, co się wykłada Piotr.
And he brought him to Iesus. And Iesus behelde him, and saide, Thou art Simon the sonne of Iona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, a stone.
43 A nazajutrz chciał Jezus wynijść do Galilei, i znalazł Filipa i rzekł mu: Pójdź za mną.
The day following, Iesus woulde goe into Galile, and founde Philip, and said vnto him, Followe me.
44 A Filip był z Betsaidy, z miasta Andrzejowego i Piotrowego.
Nowe Philip was of Bethsaida, the citie of Andrew and Peter.
45 Filip znalazł Natanaela i rzekł mu: Znaleźliśmy onego, o którym pisał Mojżesz w zakonie i prorocy, Jezusa, syna Józefowego, z Nazaretu.
Philippe founde Nathanael, and saide vnto him, Wee haue founde him of whom Moses did write in the Lawe, and the Prophetes, Iesus that sonne of Ioseph, that was of Nazareth.
46 I rzekł mu Natanael: Możesz z Nazaretu być co dobrego? Rzekł mu Filip: Pójdź, a oglądaj!
Then Nathanael sayde vnto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saide to him, Come, and see.
47 Ujrzawszy tedy Jezus Natanaela idącego do siebie, rzekł o nim: Oto prawdziwie Izraelczyk, w którym nie masz zdrady.
Iesus sawe Nathanael comming to him, and saide of him, Beholde in deede an Israelite, in whom is no guile.
48 Rzekł mu Natanael: Skądże mię znasz? Odpowiedział Jezus i rzekł mu: Pierwej niż cię Filip zawołał, gdyś był pod figowem drzewem, widziałem cię.
Nathanael sayde vnto him, Whence knewest thou mee? Iesus answered, and sayd vnto him, Before that Philip called thee, when thou wast vnder the figge tree, I sawe thee.
49 Odpowiedział Natanael i rzekł mu: Mistrzu! tyś jest on Syn Boży, tyś jest on król Izraelski.
Nathanael answered, and saide vnto him, Rabbi, thou art that Sonne of God: thou art that King of Israel.
50 Odpowiedział Jezus i rzekł mu: Iżem ci powiedział: Widziałem cię pod figowem drzewem, wierzysz; większe rzeczy nad te ujrzysz.
Iesus answered, and sayde vnto him, Because I sayde vnto thee, I sawe thee vnder the figtree, beleeuest thou? thou shalt see greater things then these.
51 I rzekł mu: Zaprawdę, zaprawdę powiadam wam: Od tego czasu ujrzycie niebo otworzone i Anioły Boże wstępujące i zstępujące na Syna człowieczego.
And he saide vnto him, Verely, verely I say vnto you, hereafter shall yee see heauen open, and the Angels of God ascending, and descending vpon that Sonne of man.
