Hioba 36
1 Do tego przydał Elihu, i rzekł:
Elihu also proceeded, and said,
2 Poczekaj mię maluczko, a ukażęć; bo jeszcze mam, cobym za Bogiem mówił.
Suffer me a little, and I will show thee that [I have] yet to speak on God's behalf.
3 Zacznę umiejętność moję z daleka, a Stworzycielowi memu przywłaszczę sprawiedliwość.
I will bring my knowledge from afar, and will ascribe righteousness to my Maker.
4 Boć zaprawdę bez kłamstwa będą mowy moje, a mąż doskonały w umiejętności jest przed tobą.
For truly my words [shall] not [be] false: he that is perfect in knowledge [is] with thee.
5 Oto Bóg mocny jest, a nie odrzuca nikogo; on jest mocny w sile serca.
Behold, God [is] mighty, and despiseth not [any]: [he is] mighty in strength [and] wisdom.
6 Nie żywi niepobożnego, a u sądu ubogim dopomaga.
He preserveth not the life of the wicked: but giveth right to the poor.
7 Nie odwraca od sprawiedliwego oczów swoich; ale z królmi na stolicy sadza ich na wieki, i bywają wywyższeni.
He withdraweth not his eyes from the righteous: but with kings [are they] on the throne; yes, he doth establish them for ever, and they are exalted.
8 A jeźliby byli okowani w pęta, albo uwikłani powrozami utrapienia:
And if [they are] bound in fetters, [and] are held in cords of affliction;
9 Tedy przez to im oznajmuje sprawy ich, i przestępstwa ich, że się zmocniły;
Then he showeth them their work, and their transgressions that they have exceeded.
10 I otwiera im ucho, aby przyjęli karanie, a mówi, aby się nawrócili od nieprawości.
He openeth also their ear to discipline, and commandeth that they return from iniquity.
11 Jeźli będą posłuszni, a będą mu służyć, dokończą dni swoich w dobrem, a lat swych w rozkoszach.
If they obey and serve [him], they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.
12 Ale jeźli nie usłuchają, od miecza zejdą, a pomrą bez umiejętności.
But if they obey not, they shall perish by the sword, and they shall die without knowledge.
13 Bo ludzie obłudnego serca obalają na się gniew, a nie wołają, kiedy ich wiąże.
But the hypocrites in heart heap up wrath: they cry not when he bindeth them.
14 Umrze w młodości dusza ich, a żywot ich między nierządnikami.
They die in youth, and their life [is] among the unclean.
15 Wyrwie utrapionego z utrapienia jego, a otworzy w uciśnieniu ucho jego.
He delivereth the poor in his affliction, and openeth their ears in oppression.
16 Takby i ciebie wyrwał z miejsca ciasnego na przestronne, gdzie niemasz ucisku, a spokojny stół twój byłby pełen tłustości.
Even so would he have removed thee out of the strait [into] a broad place, where [there is] no straitness; and that which should be set on thy table [would be] full of fatness.
17 Aleś ty sąd niepobożnego zasłużył, przetoż prawo i sąd będą cię trzymać.
But thou hast fulfilled the judgment of the wicked: judgment and justice take hold [on thee].
18 Zaisteć gniew Boży jest nad tobą; patrzże, aby cię nie poraził plagą wielką, tak, żeby cię nie wybawił żaden okup.
Because [there is] wrath, [beware] lest he take thee away with [his] stroke: then a great ransom cannot deliver thee.
19 Izali sobie będzie ważył bogactwa twoje? Zaiste ani złota, ani jakiejkolwiek siły, albo potęgi twojej.
Will he esteem thy riches? [no], not gold, nor all the forces of strength.
20 Nie kwapże się tedy ku nocy, w którą zstępują narody na miejsca swoje.
Desire not the night, when people are cut off in their place.
21 Strzeż, abyś się nie oglądał na nieprawość, obierając ją sobie nad utrapienia.
Take heed, regard not iniquity: for this hast thou chosen rather than affliction.
22 Oto Bóg jest najwyższy w mocy swojej, któż tak nauczyć może jako on?
Behold, God exalteth by his power: who teacheth like him?
23 Któż mu wymierzył drogę jego? albo kto mu rzecze: Uczyniłeś nieprawość?
Who hath enjoined him his way? or who can say, Thou hast wrought iniquity?
24 Pamiętajże, abyś wysławiał sprawę jego, której się przypatrują ludzie.
Remember that thou magnify his work, which men behold.
25 Wszyscy ludzie widzą ją, a człowiek przypatruje się jej z daleka.
Every man may see it; man may behold [it] afar off.
26 Oto Bóg jest wielki, a poznać go nie możemy, ani liczba lat jego dościgniona być może.
Behold, God [is] great, and we know [him] not, neither can the number of his years be searched out.
27 Bo on wyciąga krople wód, które wylewają z obłoków jego deszcz,
For he maketh small the drops of water: they pour down rain according to the vapor of it.
28 Który spuszczają obłoki, a spuszczają na wiele ludzi.
Which the clouds do drop [and] distill upon man abundantly.
29 (Nadto, któż zrozumie rozciągnienie obłoków, i grzmot namiotu jego.
Also can [any] understand the spreadings of the clouds, [or] the noise of his tabernacle?
30 Jako rozciąga nad nim światłość swoję, a głębokości morskie okrywa?
Behold, he spreadeth his light upon it, and covereth the bottom of the sea.
31 Bo przez te rzeczy sądzi narody, i daje pokarm w hojności.
For by them he judgeth the people; he giveth food in abundance.
32 Obłokami nakrywa światłość, i rozkazuje jej ukrywać się za obłok następujący.)
With clouds he covereth the light; and commandeth it [not to shine] by [the] intervening [cloud].
33 Daje o nim znać szum jego, także i bydło i para w górę wstępująca.
The noise of it showeth concerning it, the cattle also concerning the vapor.
