Hioba 21
1 A odpowiadając Ijob rzekł:
Then Job answered,
2 Słuchajcież z pilnością słów moich, a będzie mi to od was pociechą.
"Listen diligently to my speech. Let this be your consolation.
3 Znoście mię, a ja będę mówił; a gdy domówię, naśmiewajcie się.
Allow me, and I also will speak; After I have spoken, mock on.
4 Izaż do człowieka obracam narzekanie moje? a ponieważ mam o co, jakoż się niema trapić duch mój?
As for me, is my complaint to man? Why shouldn't I be impatient?
5 Wejrzyjcież na mię, a zdumiewajcie się, a połóżcie rękę na usta wasze.
Look at me, and be astonished. Lay your hand on your mouth.
6 Bo co sobie wspomnę, tedy się lękam, a strach zdejmuje ciało moje.
When I remember, I am troubled. Horror takes hold of my flesh.
7 Przeczże niepobożni żyją, starzeją się, i wzmagają się w bogactwa?
"Why do the wicked live, become old, yes, and grow mighty in power?
8 Nasienie ich trwałe jest przed obliczem ich z nimi, a rodzina ich przed oczyma ich.
Their child is established with them in their sight, their offspring before their eyes.
9 Domy ich bezpieczne od strachu, a niemasz rózgi Bożej nad nimi.
Their houses are safe from fear, neither is the rod of God upon them.
10 Byk ich przypuszczon bywa, a nie traci nasienia; krowa ich rodzi, a nie pomiata.
Their bulls breed without fail. Their cows calve, and do not miscarry.
11 Wypuszczają maluczkie dziatki swoje jako trzodę, a synowie ich wyskakują.
They send forth their little ones like a flock. Their children dance.
12 Wykrzykają przy bębnie i przy harfie, a weselą się przy głosie muzyki.
They sing to the tambourine and harp, and rejoice at the sound of the pipe.
They spend their days in prosperity. In an instant they go down to Sheol. (Sheol h7585)
14 Którzy mawiają Bogu: Odejdź od nas; bo dróg twoich znać nie chcemy.
They tell God, 'Depart from us, for we do not want to know about your ways.
15 Któż jest Wszechmocny, abyśmy mu służyli? a cóż nam to pomoże, choćbyśmy mu się modlili?
What is Shaddai, that we should serve him? What profit should we have, if we pray to him?'
16 Ale oto, dobra ich nie są w rękach ich; przetoż rada niepobożnych daleka jest odemnie.
Look, their prosperity is not in their hand. The counsel of the wicked is far from me.
17 Częstoż pochodnia niepobożnych gaśnie? a zginienie ich przychodzi na nich? Oddziela im Bóg boleści w gniewie swoim.
"How often is it that the lamp of the wicked is put out, that their calamity comes on them, that he distributes sorrows in his anger?
18 Stawają się jako plewa przed wiatrem, i jako perz, który wicher porywa.
How often is it that they are as stubble before the wind, as chaff that the storm carries away?
19 Bo Bóg chowa synom jego pomstę jego; nadgradza mu, aby to poczuł.
You say, 'God lays up his iniquity for his children.' Let him recompense it to himself, that he may know it.
20 Oglądają oczy jego nieszczęście swoje, a z popędliwości Wszechmocnego pić będzie.
Let his own eyes see his destruction. Let him drink of the wrath of Shaddai.
21 Co za staranie jego o domu jego po nim, gdyż liczba miesięcy jego umniejszona jest?
For what does he care for his house after him, when the number of his months is cut off?
22 Izali Boga kto nauczy umiejętności, gdyż on wysokich sądzi?
"Shall any teach God knowledge, seeing he judges those who are high?
23 Ten umiera w doskonałej sile swojej, gdy zewsząd bezpieczny i spokojny jest;
One dies in his full strength, being wholly at ease and quiet.
24 Gdy piersi jego pełne są mleka, a szpik kości jego odwilża się,
His pails are full of milk. The marrow of his bones is moistened.
25 Inny zaś umiera w gorzkości ducha, który nie jadał z uciechą.
Another dies in bitterness of soul, and never tastes of good.
26 Spólnie w prochu leżeć będą, a robaki ich okryją.
They lie down alike in the dust. The worm covers them.
27 Oto ja znam myśli wasze i zamysły, które przeciwko mnie złośliwie zmyślacie.
"Look, I know your thoughts, the devices with which you would wrong me.
28 Bo mówicie: Gdzież jest dom książęcy? gdzie namiot przybytków niepobożnych?
For you say, 'Where is the house of the prince? Where is the tent in which the wicked lived?'
29 Izaliście nie pytali podróżnych? a znaków ich izali znać nie chcecie?
Haven't you asked wayfaring men? Do you not know their evidences,
30 Że w dzień zatracenia zły zachowany bywa, w dzień, którego gniew przywiedziony bywa.
that the evil man is reserved to the day of calamity, That they are led forth to the day of wrath?
31 Któż mu oznajmi w oczy drogę jego? a to, co czynił, kto mu odpłaci?
Who shall declare his way to his face? Who shall repay him what he has done?
32 Wszakże i on do grobów zaprowadzony będzie, a w kupie umarłych zawżdy zostanie.
Yet he will be borne to the grave. Men shall keep watch over the tomb.
33 Słodnieją mu bryły grobowe, i ciągnie za sobą wszystkich ludzi; a tych, którzy go poprzedzili, niemasz liczby.
The clods of the valley shall be sweet to him. All men shall draw after him, as there were innumerable before him.
34 Jakoż mię tedy próżno cieszycie, gdyż w odpowiedziach waszych zostaje kłamstwo?
So how can you comfort me with nonsense, seeing that in your answers there remains only falsehood?"
