Hioba 11
1 I odpowiedział Sofar Naamatczyk, i rzekł:
Then answered Zophar the Naamathite, and said,
2 Izaż się nie godzi na wiele słów odpowiedzieć? Albo izali mąż wielomowny będzie usprawiedliwiony?
Should not the multitude of words be answered? and should a man full of talk be justified?
3 Bedąż na twoje plotki ludzie milczeć? A gdy ty sobie przeszydzasz, ciebie nikt nie zawstydzi?
Should thy boastings make men hold their peace? and when thou mockest, shall no man make thee ashamed?
4 Albowiemeś powiedział: Czysta jest nauka moja, a jestem czystym przed oczyma twemi.
For thou sayest, My doctrine is pure, and I am clean in thine eyes.
5 Ale gdyby Bóg chciał mówić, i otworzyć usta swoje przeciwko tobie:
But Oh that God would speak, and open his lips against thee;
6 Tedyćby objawił tajemnice mądrości, żeś dwa kroć większe karanie nadto zasłużył; przetoż uznaj, że cię Bóg przebaczył dla nieprawości twojej.
And that he would shew thee the secrets of wisdom, that is manifold in effectual working! Know therefore that God exacteth of thee less than thine iniquity deserveth.
7 Izali tajemnice Boże wybadasz? albo doskonałości Wszechmocnego dościgniesz?
Canst thou by searching find out God? canst thou find out the Almighty unto perfection?
It is high as heaven; what canst thou do? deeper than Sheol; what canst thou know? (Sheol h7585)
9 Dłuższa miara ich, niż ziemia, a szersza, niż morze.
The measure thereof is longer than the earth, and broader than the sea.
10 Jeźli wypełni, albo jeźli zawrze, albo jeźli w jedno ściśnie, któż go zawściągnie?
If he pass through, and shut up, and call unto judgment, then who can hinder him?
11 Albowiem on zna marność ludzką, i widzi nieprawość; a nie miałby tego baczyć?
For he knoweth vain men: he seeth iniquity also, even though he consider it not.
12 Człowiek nierozumny nabywa rozumu, choć się jako źrebię leśnego osła rodzi człowiek.
But vain man is void of understanding, yea, man is born as a wild ass’s colt.
13 Jeźli ty przygotujesz serce twoje, a wyciągniesz do niego ręce twoje;
If thou set thine heart aright, and stretch out thine hands toward him;
14 Jeźliż nieprawość jest w ręce twej oddal ją, a mieszkać nie dopuszczaj nieprawości w przybytkach twoich;
If iniquity be in thine hand, put it far away, and let not unrighteousness dwell in thy tents;
15 Tedy podniesiesz oblicze twoje bez zmazy, a będziesz stały, i nie będziesz się bał.
Surely then shalt thou lift up thy face without spot; yea, thou shalt be stedfast, and shalt not fear:
16 Albowiem zapomnisz kłopotu, a jako wody, które pominęły, wspominać go będziesz.
For thou shalt forget thy misery; thou shalt remember it as waters that are passed away:
17 I nad południe jaśniejszy nastanie czas twój; zaćmiszli się, będziesz jako zaranek.
And [thy] life shall be clearer than the noonday; though there be darkness, it shall be as the morning.
18 I będziesz ufał, mając nadzieję, a jako w okopach bezpiecznie spać będziesz.
And thou shalt be secure, because there is hope; yea, thou shalt search [about thee], and shalt take thy rest in safety.
19 Będziesz leżał, a nikt cię nie przestraszy; i uniżać się będą przed twarzą twoją wiele ich.
Also thou shalt lie down, and none shall make thee afraid; yea, many shall make suit unto thee.
20 Ale oczy niepobożnych ustaną i ucieczka ich zginie, a nadzieja ich będzie jako wyjście duszy z człowieka.
But the eyes of the wicked shall fail, and they shall have no way to flee, and their hope shall be the giving up of the ghost.
