1 Albowiem ten Melchisedek był król Salem, kapłan Boga najwyższego, który zaszedł drogę Abrahamowi, gdy się wracał od porażki królów i błogosławił mu.
For this Melchi-sedec was King of Salem, the Priest of the most high God, who met Abraham, as he returned from the slaughter of the Kings, and blessed him:
2 Któremu i dziesięciny ze wszystkiego udzielił Abraham; który najprzód wykłada się król sprawiedliwości, potem też król Salem, co jest król pokoju.
To whom also Abraham gaue the tithe of all things: who first is by interpretation King of righteousnes: after that, he is also King of Salem, that is, King of peace,
3 Bez ojca, bez matki, bez rodu, ani początku dni, ani końca żywota nie mając, ale przypodobany będąc Synowi Bożemu, zostaje kapłanem na wieki.
Without father, without mother, without kinred, and hath neither beginning of his dayes, neither ende of life: but is likened vnto the Sonne of God, and continueth a Priest for euer.
4 Obaczcież tedy, jako wielki ten był, któremu też dziesięcinę z łupów dał Abraham patryjarcha.
Nowe consider how great this man was, vnto whome euen the Patriarke Abraham gaue the tithe of the spoyles.
5 A ci, którzy są z synów Lewiego, urząd kapłański przyjmujący, rozkazanie mają, aby brali dziesięcinę od ludu według zakonu, to jest od braci swoich, choć wyszli z biódr Abrahamowych.
For verely they which are the childre of Leui, which receiue the office of the Priesthode, haue a commandement to take, according to the Law, tithes of the people (that is, of their bethren) though they came out of ye loynes of Abraham.
6 Ale ten, którego ród nie jest poczytany między nimi, dziesięcinę wziął od Abrahama i temu, który miał obietnicę, błogosławił.
But he whose kindred is not couted among them, receiued tithes of Abraham, and blessed him that had the promises.
7 A bez wszelkiego sporu mniejszy od większego błogosławieństwo bierze.
And without all contradiction the lesse is blessed of the greater.
8 A tuć dziesięciny biorą ludzie, którzy umierają; tam zasię on, o którym świadczono, iż żyje.
And here men that die, receiue tithes: but there he receiueth them, of whome it is witnessed, that he liueth.
9 A iż tak rzekę i sam Lewi, który dziesięciny bierze, dał w Abrahamie dziesięcinę.
And to say as the thing is, Leui also which receiueth tithes, payed tithes in Abraham.
10 Albowiem jeszcze był w biodrach ojcowskich, gdy wyszedł przeciwko niemu Melchisedek.
For hee was yet in the loynes of his father Abraham, when Melchi-sedec met him.
11 A przetoż byłali doskonałość przez kapłaństwo lewickie, (gdyż za niego wydany jest zakon ludowi), jakaż tego jeszcze była potrzeba, aby inszy kapłan według porządku Melchisedekowego powstał, a nie był według porządku Aaronowego mianowany?
If therefore perfection had bene by the Priesthoode of the Leuites (for vnder it the Lawe was established to the people) what needed it furthermore, that another Priest should rise after the order of Melchi-sedec, and not to be called after the order of Aaron?
12 A ponieważ kapłaństwo jest przeniesione, musi też i zakon przeniesiony być.
For if the Priesthood be changed, then of necessitie must there be a change of the Lawe.
13 Bo ten, o którym się to mówi, inszego jest pokolenia, z którego żaden nie służył ołtarzowi.
For hee of whome these things are spoken, perteineth vnto another tribe, whereof no man serued at the altar.
14 Albowiem jawna jest, iż z pokolenia Judowego poszedł Pan nasz, o którem pokoleniu nic z strony kapłaństwa nie mówi Mojżesz.
For it is euident, that our Lord sprung out of Iuda, concerning the which tribe Moses spake nothing, touching the Priesthood.
15 Owszem obficie to jeszcze i z tego jawna jest, iż powstał inszy kapłan według porządku Melchisedekowego,
And it is yet a more euident thing, because that after the similitude of Melchi-sedec, there is risen vp another Priest,
16 Który się stał nie według zakonu przykazania cielesnego, ale według mocy żywota nieskazitelnego.
Which is not made Priest after the Law of the carnal commandement, but after the power of the endlesse life.
For hee testifieth thus, Thou art a Priest for euer, after the order of Melchi-sedec. (aiōn g165)
18 Bo się stało zniesienie onego przyszłego przykazania dla słabości jego i niepożytku.
For the commandement that went afore, is disanulled, because of the weakenes thereof, and vnprofitablenes.
19 Bo niczego do doskonałości nie przywiódł zakon; ale na miejsce jego wprowadzona jest lepsza nadzieja, przez którą się przybliżamy do Boga.
For the Law made nothing perfite, but the bringing in of a better hope made perfite, whereby we drawe neere vnto God.
20 A to i względem tego, że nie bez przysięgi jest wprowadzona.
And for as much as it is not without an othe (for these are made Priestes without an othe:
21 Boć się oni bez przysięgi kapłanami stawali, a ten z przysięgą przez tego, który rzekł do niego: Przysiągł Pan, a nie będzie tego żałował: Tyś jest kapłanem na wieki według porządku Melchisedekowego, (aiōn g165)
But this is made with an othe by him that said vnto him, The Lord hath sworne, and will not repent, Thou art a Priest for euer, after the order of Melchi-sedec) (aiōn g165)
22 Tak dalece lepszego przymierza rękojmią stał się Jezus.
By so much is Iesus made a suretie of a better Testament.
23 Więc też onych wiele bywało kapłanów dlatego, iż im śmierć nie dopuściła zawsze trwać.
And among them many were made Priests, because they were not suffered to endure, by the reason of death.
But this man, because hee endureth euer, hath a Priesthood, which cannot passe from one to another. (aiōn g165)
25 Przetoż i doskonale zbawić może tych, którzy przez niego przystępują do Boga, zawsze żyjąc, aby orędował za nimi.
Wherefore, hee is able also perfectly to saue them that come vnto God by him, seeing he euer liueth, to make intercession for them.
26 Takiegoć zaiste przystało nam mieć najwyższego kapłana, świętego, niewinnego, niepokalanego, odłączonego od grzeszników i który by się stał wyższy nad niebiosa:
For such an hie Priest it became vs to haue, which is holy, harmelesse, vndefiled, separate from sinners, and made hier then the heauens:
27 Który by nie potrzebował na każdy dzień, jako oni najwyżsi kapłani, pierwej za swoje grzechy własne ofiar sprawować, a potem za ludzkie; bo to uczynił raz samego siebie ofiarowawszy.
Which needeth not daily as those hie Priests to offer vp sacrifice, first for his owne sinnes, and then for the peoples: for that did he once, when he offered vp himselfe.
28 Albowiem zakon ludzi podległych krewkości stanowił za najwyższych kapłanów: ale słowo przysięgi, które się stało po zakonie, postanowiło Syna Bożego doskonałego na wieki. (aiōn g165)
For the Law maketh men hie Priestes, which haue infirmitie: but the word of the othe that was since the Lawe, maketh the Sonne, who is consecrated for euermore. (aiōn g165)
