1 A Pan nawiedził Sarę, jako był rzekł: i uczynił Pan Sarze, jako był powiedział.
Now, Yahweh, visited Sarah, as he had said, —And Yahweh did for Sarah as he had spoken.
2 Bo poczęła i porodziła Sara Abrahamowi syna w starości jego, na tenże czas, który mu był Bóg przepowiedział.
So, Sarah, conceived and bare, to Abraham, a son, for his old age, at the set time, of which God had spoken with him.
3 I nazwał Abraham imię syna swego, który mu się urodził, którego mu urodziła Sara, Izaak.
And Abraham called the name of his son that was born to him, whom, Sarah, bare to him, Isaac.
4 I obrzezał Abraham Izaaka, syna swego, gdy był w ośmiu dniach, jako mu był rozkazał Bóg.
And Abraham circumcised Isaac his son, when eight days old, —as God commanded him.
5 A było Abrahamowi sto lat, gdy mu się urodził Izaak, syn jego.
Now Abraham was a hundred years old, —when Isaac his son was born to him.
6 Tedy rzekła Sara: Śmiech mi uczynił Bóg; ktokolwiek usłyszy, śmiać się będzie ze mną.
And Sarah said, A laughing, hath God made for me, —Everyone that heareth will laugh with me.
7 I rzekła: Któżby to był rzekł Abrahamowi, że Sara będzie karmiła piersiami syny? gdyżem urodziła syna w starości jego.
And she said—Who would have announced to Abraham, Sarah hath suckled children? yet have I borne a son, for his old age!
8 Rosło tedy dziecię, i odstawione jest od piersi; i uczynił Abraham ucztę wielką w dzień odstawienia Izaaka.
And the child grew, and was weaned, —and Abraham made a great banquet, on the day of the weaning of Isaac.
9 Potem ujrzała Sara syna Hagary, Egipczanki, przeszydzającego, którego urodziła Abrahamowi;
And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian woman whom she had borne to Abraham laughing!
10 I rzekła do Abrahama: Wyrzuć tę służebnicę, i syna jej; albowiem nie będzie dziedziczył syn tej służebnicy z synem mym Izaakiem.
So she said to Abraham, Cast out this bondwoman and her son, —for the son of this bondwoman must not inherit with my son with Isaac.
11 Ale się to bardzo nie podobało w oczach Abrahamowych, dla syna jego.
And the word was very grievous in the eyes of Abraham, —on account of his son.
12 Tedy rzekł Bóg do Abrahama: Niech to przykro nie będzie w oczach twoich z strony dziecięcia, i z strony służebnicy twojej; coćkolwiek rzecze Sara, usłuchaj głosu jej; boć w Izaaku nazwane będzie nasienie.
And God said unto Abraham Let it not be grievous in thine eyes concerning the boy and concerning thy bondwoman, In all that Sarah may say unto thee, hearken to her voice, —For in Isaac, shall there be called to thee—a seed.
13 Wszakże i syna służebnicy rozmnożę w naród, przeto iż nasieniem twojem jest.
Yet even the son of the bondwoman, will I appoint to become, a nation, because thy seed, he is.
14 Wstał tedy Abraham bardzo rano, a wziąwszy chleb i łagiew wody, dał Hagarze; i włożywszy to na ramię jej, i z dziecięciem, odprawił ją; która poszedłszy błąkała się po puszczy Beerseba.
So Abraham rose up early in the morning—and took bread and a skin of water and gave unto hagar, —putting them on her shoulder and the child, and sent her forth, —so she went her way and wandered, in the desert of Beer-sheba.
15 A gdy nie stało wody w łagwi, porzuciła dziecię pod jednem drzewem;
And the water out of the skin was spent, —so she cast the child under one of the shrubs;
16 I odszedłszy usiadła przeciw niemu, tak daleko, jako na strzeleniu z łuku; bo mówiła: Nie będę patrzyła na śmierć dziecięcia; a siedząc przeciw niemu, podniosła głos swój, i płakała.
and went and sat her down over against him at a distance like as of such as draw the bow, for she said Let me not look upon the death of the child, —So she sat down over against him, and the boy lifted up his voice, and wept
17 Tedy usłyszał Bóg głos dziecięcy, i zawołał Anioł Boży na Hagarę z nieba, i rzekł jej: Cóżci Hagaro? nie bój się, boć usłyszał Bóg głos dziecięcy z miejsca, na którem jest.
And God heard the voice of the boy, and a messenger of God called unto Hagar out of the heavens; and said to her, What aileth thee, Hagar? Do not fear, for God hath hearkened unto the voice of the boy where he is.
18 Wstań, weźmij dziecię, a ujmij je ręką swoją: bo w naród wielki rozmnożę je.
Arise lift up the boy, and hold him up with thy hand, —for, a great nation, will I make him.
19 Otworzył tedy Bóg oczy jej, że ujrzała źródło wody; a szedłszy napełniła łagiew wodą, i dała pić dziecięciu.
And God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water, —and went and filled the skin with water, and gave drink unto the boy
20 I był Bóg z onem dziecięciem, Które urosło, i mieszkało na puszczy, był z niego strzelec dobry z łuku.
And it came to pass that God was with the boy, and he grew, —and dwelt in the desert, and he became as he grew up, an archer,
21 A mieszkał na puszczy Faran; i wzięła mu matka jego żonę z ziemi Egipskiej.
And he dwelt in the desert of Paran, —and his mother took him a wife out of the land of Egypt.
22 I stało się onegoż czasu, że rzekł Abimelech, i Fikol, hetman wojska jego, do Abrahama mówiąc: Bóg z tobą we wszystkiem, co ty czynisz.
And it came to pass at that time, that Abimelech, with Phicol chieftain of his host, spake unto Abraham, saying, —God, is with thee in all that, thou art doing.
23 A tak teraz, przysiąż mi przez Boga, że mię w niczem podchodzić nie będziesz, ani syna mego, ani wnuka mego; ale według miłosierdzia, którem uczynił z tobą, uczynisz ze mną, i z ziemią, w którejś był przychodniem.
Now, therefore, swear to me by God, here, that thou wilt not deal falsely by me, nor by mine offspring, nor by my descendants, —according to the lovingkindness wherewith I have dealt with thee, shalt thou deal with me, and with the land wherein thou hast sojourned.
24 Tedy odpowiedział Abraham: Ja przysięgnę.
And Abraham said, I, will swear.
25 I przymawiał Abraham Abimelechowi o studnią wody, którą mu byli gwałtem odjęli słudzy Abimelechowi.
But Abraham reproved Abimelech, —on account of the well of water, which the servants of Abimelech had seized.
26 I rzekł Abimelech: Nie wiem kto by to uczynił, nawet i tyś mi nie oznajmił, i jam nie słyszał o tem dopiero dziś.
And Abimelech said, I know not, who hath done this thing, —nor hast even thou, ever told me, nor have even I, ever heard, save to-day.
27 Nabrał tedy Abraham owiec i wołów, i dał Abimelechowi, i uczynili oba przymierze.
And Abraham took sheep and oxen, and gave to Abimelech, —and they two solemnised a covenant
28 I postawił Abraham siedmioro owiec z stada osobno.
So then Abraham set seven young sheep of the flock by them-selves,
29 Tedy Abimelech rzekł do Abrahama: Na cóż to siedmioro owiec, któreś postawił osobno?
And Abimelech said unto Abraham, What, then mean these seven young sheep here, which thou hast set by themselves?
30 A on odpowiedział: Iż te siedem owiec weźmiesz z rąk moich, aby mi były na świadectwo, żem wykopał tę studnię.
And he said, The seven young sheep, shalt thou take at my hand, —that they may serve as my witness, that I digged this well.
31 Dlatego nazwano miejsce ono Beerseba; albowiem tam obaj przysięgli.
On this account, was the name of that place called Beer-sheba ["oath well"], —because there, had they two sworn.
32 A tak zawarli przymierze w Beerseba. Potem wstawszy Abimelech, i Fikol, hetman wojska jego, wrócili się do ziemi Filistyńskiej.
And when they had solemnised a covenant in Beer-sheba, —then arose Abimelech, with Phicol chief of his host, and returned unto the land of the Philistines.
33 I nasadził Abraham drzewa w Beerseba, i wzywał tam imienia Pana Boga wiecznego.
Then planted he a tamarisk tree in Beer-sheba, —and called there on the name of Yahweh the age-abiding GOD.
34 I mieszkał Abraham w ziemi Filistyńskiej przez wiele dni.
So Abraham sojourned in the land of the Philistines many days.
