1 I przyszli dwaj Aniołowie do Sodomy w wieczór, a Lot siedział w bramie Sodomskiej. Gdy je tedy ujrzał Lot, wstawszy szedł przeciwko nim, i skłonił się twarzą ku ziemi, i rzekł:
And there came. ij. angells to Sodome at euen. And Lot satt at the gate of the cyte. And Lot sawe the and rose vp agaynst them and he bowed hym selfe to he grounde with his face.
2 Oto proszę panowie moi, wstąpcie teraz do domu sługi swego, a bądźcie tu na noc, i umyjcie nogi swe; potem rano wstawszy pójdziecie w drogę waszę. Którzy odpowiedzieli: Bynajmniej; ale na ulicy będziemy nocowali.
And he sayde: Se lordes turne in I praye you in to youre servauntes house and tary all nyghte and wash youre fete and ryse vp early and go on youre wayes. And they sayde: nay but we will byde in the streates all nyghte.
3 Ale on przymuszał ich bardzo, iż się skłonili do niego, i weszli w dom jego; zaczem sprawił im ucztę, i napiekł chleba przaśnego, i jedli.
And he copelled them excedyngly. And they turned in vnto hym and entred in to his house and he made them a feaste and dyd bake swete cakes and they ate.
4 Lecz pierwej niż oni poszli spać, oto obywatele miasta, mężowie Sodomscy, obstąpili dom, od młodego aż do starego, wszystek lud zewsząd.
But before they went to rest the men of the cyte of Sodome compassed the house rownde aboute both olde and yonge all the people from all quarters.
5 I wołali na Lota, i rzekli mu: Gdzie są mężowie, którzy przyszli do ciebie w nocy? wywiedź je do nas, abyśmy je poznali.
And they called vnto Lot and sayde vnto him: where are the men which came in to thy house to nyghte? brynge the out unto vs that we may do oure lust with them.
6 Tedy wyszedł do nich Lot ze drzwi, i zamknął drzwi za sobą.
And Lot went out at doores vnto them and shote the dore after him
7 I rzekł: Nie czyńcie proszę, bracia moi, nic złego.
and sayde: nay for goddes sake brethren do not so wekedly.
8 Oto teraz mam dwie córki, które nie poznały męża; wywiodę je teraz do was, a czyńcie z niemi, co się wam podoba, tylko mężom tym nic nie czyńcie; bo dlatego weszli pod cień dachu mego.
Beholde I haue two doughters which haue knowne no man the will I brynge out vnto you: do with them as it semeth you good: Only vnto these men do nothynge for therfore came they vnder the shadowe of my rofe.
9 A oni rzekli: Pójdźże tam; i mówili: Ten sam przyszedł, aby tu gościem był, a miałby nas sądzić? przetoż gorzej uczynimy tobie, niż onym i czynili gwałt wielki mężowi onemu Lotowi, i przystąpili, aby drzwi wyłamali.
And they sayde: come hither. And they sayde: camest thou not in to sogeorne and wilt thou be now a iudge? we will suerly deale worse with the than with themAnd as they preased fore vppon Lot and beganne to breake vp the doore
10 Ale mężowie oni, wyciągnąwszy rękę swoję, wwiedli Lota do siebie w dom, i zamknęli drzwi.
the men put forth their handes and pulled Lot in to the house to them and shott to the doore.
11 A męże one, którzy byli u drzwi domu, pozarażali ślepotą, od najmniejszego, aż do największego; tak, iż się spracowali, szukając drzwi.
And the men that were at the doore of the house they smote with blyndnesse both small and greate: so that they coude not fynde the doore.
12 Tedy rzekli mężowie oni do Lota: Maszli tu jeszcze kogo, zięcia, albo syny twe, albo córki twoje, i wszystko, co masz w mieście, wyprowadź z miejsca tego.
And the men sayde moreover vnto Lot: Yf thou have yet here any sonne in lawe or sonnes or doughters or what so euer thou hast in the cyte brynge it out of this place:
13 Skazimy bowiem to miejsce, przeto, że się wzmógł krzyk ich przed Panem, i posłał nas Pan, abyśmy je skazili.
for we must destroy this place because the crye of the is great before the LORde. Wherfore he hath sent vs to destroy it.
14 Tedy wyszedłszy Lot mówił do zięciów swoich, którzy mieli pojąć córki jego, i rzekł: Wstańcie, wynijdźcie z miejsca tego, bo skazi Pan to miasto; ale się zdało w oczach zięciów jego, jakoby żartował.
And Lot went out and spake vnto his sonnes in lawe which shulde haue maried his doughters and sayde: stonde vpp and get yow out of this place for the LORde will destroy the cite. But he semed as though he had mocked vnto his sonnes in law.
15 A gdy weszła zorza, przymuszali Aniołowie Lota, mówiąc: Wstań, weźmij żonę twoję, i dwie córki twoje, które tu są, byś snać nie zginął w nieprawości miasta tego.
And as the mornynge arose the angells caused Lot to spede him saynge. Stonde vp take thy wyfe and thy two doughters and that that is at hande lest thou perish in the synne of the cyte.
16 A gdy się ociągał, ujęli mężowie oni rękę jego, i rękę żony jego, i rękę dwóch córek jego, ( albowiem mu Pan folgował, ) i wywiedli go, i postawili go przed miastem.
And as he prolonged the tyme the men caught both him his wife ad his two doughters by the handes because the LORde was mercyfull vnto him ad they brought him forth and sette him without the cyte.
17 I gdy je wywiedli precz, rzekł jeden: Jeźli chcesz, zachowaj duszę twoję, a nie oglądaj się nazad, ani stawaj na tej wszystkiej równinie; uchodź na górę, byś snać nie zginął.
When they had brought them out they sayde: Saue thy lyfe and loke not behynde the nether tary thou in any place of the contre but saue thy selfe in the mountayne lest thou perisshe.
18 A Lot rzekł do nich: Nie tak, proszę, panowie moi;
Than sayde Lot vnto them: Oh nay my lorde:
19 Oto teraz znalazł sługa twój łaskę w oczach twoich, i okazałeś obficie miłosierdzie twoje, któreś uczynił ze mną, zachowawszy duszę moję; aleć ja nie będę mógł ujść na tę górę, by mię snać nie zachwyciło to złe, i umarłbym.
beholde in as moch as thy servaunte hath fownde grace in thy syghte now make thi mercy great which thou shewest vnto me in savinge my lyfe. For I can not saue my selfe in the mountayns lest some misfortune fall vpon me and I dye.
20 Ale oto tu jest miasto nie daleko, do którego bym uciekł, małeć jest; proszę niech tam ujdę, ( wszak małe jest, ) a będzie żywa dusza moja.
Beholde here is a cyte by to flee vnto and it is a lytle one: let me saue my selfe therein: is it not a litle one that my soule may lyue?
21 Tedy rzekł do niego: Oto, i wtem wysłuchałem cię, abym nie wywrócił miasta tego, o któremeś mówił.
And he sayde to him: se I haue receaved thy request as concernynge this thynge that I will nott overthrowe this cytie for the which thou hast spoken.
22 Śpieszże się a uchodź tam, bo nie będę mógł nic uczynić, aż ty tam dojdziesz; przetoż nazwane jest imię miasta onego Zoar.
Haste the ad saue thy selfe there for I can do nothynge tyll thou be come in thyder. And therfore the name of the cyte is called Zoar.
23 Wtem słońce weszło na ziemię, a Lot wszedł do Zoar.
And the sone was vppon the erth when Lot was entred in to Zoar.
24 Tedy Pan spuścił jako deszcz na Sodomę i na Gomorrę siarkę i ogień, od Pana z nieba.
Than the LORde rayned vpon Sodome and Gomorra brymstone and fyre from the LORde out of heaven
25 I wywrócił miasta one, i wszystkę onę równinę, wszystkie obywatele miast onych, i urodzaje onej ziemi.
and overthrewe those cyteis and all the region and all that dwelled in the cytes and that that grewe vpon the erth.
26 I obejrzała się żona jego idąc za nim, a obróciła się w słup solny.
And lots wyfe loked behynde her ad was turned in to a pillare of salte.
27 Wstawszy tedy Abraham rano, pospieszył się na ono miejsce, kędy stał przed Panem.
Abraham rose vp early and got him to the place where he stode before the LORde
28 I spojrzał ku Sodomie i Gomorze, i ku wszystkiej ziemi onej równiny, i obaczył, a oto wychodził dym z onej ziemi, jako dym z pieca.
and loked toward Sodome and Gomorra and toward all the londe of that contre. And as he loked: beholde the smoke of the contre arose as it had bene the smoke of a fornace.
29 A gdy wywracał Bóg miasta onej równiny, wspomniał Bóg na Abrahama i wybawił Lota z pośrodku wywrócenia, gdy wywracał one miasta, w których Lot mieszkał.
But yet whe God destroyed the cities of ye regio he thought a pon Abraha: and sent Lot out from the dager of the overthrowenge when he overthrewe the cyttes where Lot dwelled.
30 Potem wyszedł Lot z Zoar, i mieszkał na górze, i dwie córki jego z nim, albowiem się bał mieszkać w Zoar; ale mieszkał w jaskini, on i dwie córki jego.
And Lot departed out of Zoar and dwelled in the mountayns ad his. ij. doughters with him for he feared to tary in Zoar: he dweld therfore in a caue both he and his. ij. doughters also.
31 Tedy rzekła starsza do młodszej: Ojciec nasz stary a nie masz męża na ziemi, który by wszedł do nas, według zwyczaju wszystkiej ziemi.
Than sayde the elder vnto the yonger oure father is olde and there are no moo men in the erth to come in vnto vs after the maner of all the world.
32 Pójdź, upójmy ojca naszego winem, a śpijmy z nim, abyśmy zachowały z ojca naszego nasienie.
Come therfore let vs geue oure father wyne to dryncke and let vs lye with him that we may saue seed of oure father.
33 Dały tedy pić ojcu swemu wina onej nocy. I wszedłszy starsza spała z ojcem swym; ale on nie czuł ani kiedy się układła, ani kiedy wstała.
And they gaue their father wyne to drynke that same nyghte. And the elder doughter went and laye with her father. And he perceaued it not nether when she laye doune nether when she rose vp.
34 I stało się nazajutrz, że rzekła starsza do młodszej: Otom ja spała przeszłej nocy z ojcem swym, dajmyż mu pić wina jeszcze tej nocy, i wnijdziesz, i będziesz spała z nim, a zachowamy z ojca naszego nasienie.
And on the morowe the elder sayde vnto the yonger: beholde yesternyghte laye I with my father. Let us geue hym wyne to drinke this nyghte also and goo thou and lye with him and let us saue seed of oure father.
35 Tedy dały pić i onej nocy ojcu swemu wina; i przyszedłszy młodsza spała z nim; ale on nie czuł, ani kiedy się układła, ani kiedy wstała.
And they gaue their father wyne to drincke that nyghte also. And the yonger arose and laye with him. And he perceaved it not: nether when she laye downe nether when she rose vp.
36 A tak poczęły obie córki Lotowe z ojca swego.
Thus were both the doughters of lot with childe by their father
37 I urodziła starsza syna, a nazwała imię jego Moab; ten jest ojcem Moabitów, aż do dnia tego.
And the elder bare a sone and called hym Moab which is the father of the Moabytes vnto this daye.
38 Młodsza też urodziła syna, i nazwała imię jego Benammi; ten jest ojcem synów Ammonowych, aż do dnia tego.
And the yonger bare a sonne and called hym Ben Ammi which is the father of the childern of Ammon vnto this daye.
