1 Potem obróciwszy się, poszliśmy na puszczą, drogą ku morzu czerwonemu, jako mówił Pan do mnie, i krążyliśmy około około góry Seir przez wiele dni.
Then we turned, and took our journey into the wilderness by the way of the Red Sea, as the Lord had spoken unto me: and we traveled around mount Seir many days.
2 Tedy rzekł Pan do mnie, mówiąc:
And the Lord said unto me, as followeth,
3 Dosycieście już krążyli około tej góry, obróćcież się ku północy;
Ye have traveled long enough around this mountain; turn yourselves northward.
4 A ludowi rozkaż mówiąc: Wy wnet pójdziecie przez granice braci waszej, synów Ezawowych, którzy mieszkają w Seir, i będą się was bali; ale się i wy pilnie strzeżcie.
And the people command thou, saying, Ye are passing by the border of your brethren the children of Esau, who dwell in Seir; and they will be afraid of you; therefore take ye good heed unto yourselves;
5 Nie drażnijcież ich; albowiem nie dam wam ziemi ich, ani na stopę nogi, gdyżem w osiadłość dał Ezawowi górę Seir.
Do not contend with them; for I will not give unto you of their land, even so much as a foot's breadth; because unto Esau have I given mount Seir for an inheritance.
6 Żywność będziecie kupowali u nich za pieniądze, i jeść będziecie; także i wodę od nich kupować będziecie za pieniądze, i pić będziecie.
Food shall ye buy of them for money, that ye may eat; and water also shall ye buy of them for money, that ye may drink.
7 Albowiem ci Pan, Bóg twój, błogosławił we wszelkiej sprawie rąk twoich, i wiedział drogę twoję na tej puszczy wielkiej; już przez czterdzieści lat Pan, Bóg twój, był z tobą, nie schodziłoć na niczem.
For the Lord thy God hath blessed thee in all the works of thy hand; he hath provided for thy wandering through this great wilderness: these forty years the Lord thy God hath been with thee; thou hast lacked nothing.
8 Poszliśmy tedy od braci naszej, synów Ezawowych, mieszkających w Seir, drogą równą od Elat, i od Asyjongaber, a nawróciwszy się udaliśmy się drogą ku puszczy Moabskiej.
And we passed away from our brethren the children of Esau, who dwell in Seir, from the way through the plain, from Elath, and from 'Ezyon-gaber. And we turned and passed the way of the wilderness of Moab.
9 I rzekł Pan do mnie: Nie nacieraj na Moabczyki, ani podnoś wojny przeciwko nim; boć nie dam ziemi ich w osiadłość, gdyżem synom Lotowym dał Ar w dziedzictwo.
And the Lord said unto me, Do not attack the Moabites, nor contend with them in battle; for I will not give thee from their land any inheritance, because unto the children of Lot have I given 'Ar for an inheritance.
10 (Emitowie pierwej mieszkali w niej, lud potężny i wielki, i wysokiego wzrostu, jako Enakimowie;
The Emim in times past dwelt therein, a people great, and numerous, and tall as the 'Anakim;
11 Które też za olbrzymy miano, jako Enakimy, a Moabczykowie zwali je Emim.
As Rephaim were also they accounted, equally with the 'Anakim; and the Moabites called the[[m]] Emim.
12 Także w Seir mieszkali Horejczycy przedtem, które synowie Ezawowi wygnali, i wygładzili je przed sobą, a mieszkali na miejscu ich, jako uczynił Izrael w ziemi osiadłości swojej, którą im dał Pan.)
And in Seir dwelt the Chorim in times past; but the children of Esau drove them out, and they destroyed them from before them, and dwelt in their stead; as Israel hath done unto the land of his inheritance, which the Lord hath given unto them.
13 Wstańcież tedy, a przeprawcie się przez potok Zared; i przeprawiliśmy się przez potok Zared.
Now rise up, and get you over the brook Zered; and we passed over the brook Zered.
14 A czasu, któregośmy chodzili od Kades Barne, ażeśmy się przeprawili przez potok Zared, było trzydzieści i osiem lat, aż wyginął wszystek on naród mężów walecznych z obozu, jako im był przysiągł Pan.
And the time which we came from Kadesh-barnea', until we had passed over the brook Zered, was thirty and eight years; until all the generation of the men of war were spent from out the midst of the camp, as the Lord had sworn unto them.
15 Albowiem ręka Pańska była przeciwko nim na wytracenie ich z obozu, aż ich wygubiła.
And also the hand of the Lord was against them, to destroy them from the midst of the camp; until they were spent.
16 I stało się, gdy wyginęli wszyscy mężowie waleczni, i pomarli z pośrodku ludu,
So it came to pass, when all the men of war were spent by, dying from the midst of the people,
17 Że rzekł Pan do mnie, mówiąc:
That the Lord spoke unto me, saying,
18 Ty dziś przejdziesz granicę Moabską Ar,
Thou art passing this day by the border of Moab, by 'Ar,
19 I przyjdziesz blisko ku synom Ammonowym; nie nacierajże na nie, ani podnoś wojny przeciwko nim; boć nie dam ziemi synów Ammonowych w osiadłość, ponieważ synom Lotowym dałem ją w dziedzictwo.
And thou comest nigh opposite the children of 'Ammon: do not attack them, nor contend with them; for I will not give unto thee of the land of the children of 'Ammon any inheritance; because unto the children of Lot have I given it for an inheritance.
20 (Tę też ziemię za ziemię olbrzymów miano; albowiem olbrzymowie mieszkali w niej przedtem, które Ammonitowie nazywali Zomzomim;
As the land of Rephaim was it also accounted: Rephaim dwelt therein in times past; and the 'Ammonites called them Zamzummim;
21 Lud potężny, i wielki, i wysokiego wzrostu, jako Enakimowie; ale wygubił je Pan przed nimi, a Ammonitowie opanowali je i mieszkali na miejscu ich;
A people great, and numerous, and tall, as the 'Anakim; but the Lord destroyed them before them; and they drove them out, and dwelt in their stead:
22 Jako uczynił synom Ezawowym mieszkającym w Seir, dla których wytracił Horejczyki przed obliczem ich; i wygnali je, i mieszkai na miejscach ich aż po dziś dzień.
As he hath done to the children of Esau, who dwell in Seir, from before whom he destroyed the Chorim; and they drove them out and dwelt in their stead, even unto this day.
23 Hewejczyki także, którzy mieszkali w Aserym aż do Gazy, Kaftorytowie, którzy wyszli z Kaftor, wytracili je, i mieszkali na miejscu ich.)
And the 'Avvim, who dwelt in open towns, as far as unto Gazzah, —the Caphtorim, who came forth out of Caphtor, destroyed them, and dwelt in their stead.
24 Wstawszy tedy idźcie, a przeprawcie się przez potok Arnon; oto, Ja dawam w ręce twoje Sehona, króla Hesebon Amorejczyka, i ziemię jego, pocznijże ją posiadać, a podnieś przeciwko niemu wojnę.
Rise ye up, set forward, and pass over the brook Arnon; behold I have given into thy hand Sichon the king of Cheshbon, the Emorite, and his land: begin to drive him out, and contend with him in battle.
25 Dzisiaj pocznę puszczać strach i bojaźń twoję na ludzie, którzy są pod wszystkiem niebem, że gdy usłyszą wieść o tobie, drżeć i lękać się będą przed tobą.
This day will I begin to put the dread of thee and the fear of thee upon the nations that are under the whole heaven; whoever will hear the report of thee, shall tremble, and shall quake because of thee.
26 Tedym posłał posły z puszczy Kademot do Sehona, króla Hesebońskiego, z poselstwem spokojnem, mówiąc:
And I sent messengers out of the wilderness of Kedemoth unto Sichon, the king of Cheshbon, with words of peace, saying,
27 Niech przejdę przez ziemię twoję; drogą pospolitą pójdę; nie uchylę się ani na prawo ani na lewo.
Let me pass through thy land: always by the highway will I go along; I will not turn unto the right hand or unto the left.
28 Żywności za pieniądze sprzedasz mi, abym jadł; wody także za pieniądze dasz mi, abym pił: tylko przejdę nogami memi;
Food shalt thou sell me for money, that I may eat; and water for money shalt thou give me, that I may drink: only let me pass through on foot;
29 Jako mi uczynili synowie Ezawowi, którzy mieszkają w Seir, i Moabczycy, którzy mieszkają w Ar, ażbyśmy się przeprawili za Jordan, do ziemi, którą Pan, Bóg nasz, dawa nam.
(As the children of Esau who dwell in Seir, and the Moabites who dwell in 'Ar, have done unto me: ) until that I shall pass over the Jordan into the land which the Lord our God giveth us.
30 Ale nie chciał Sehon, król Heseboński, pozwolić nam przejścia przez ziemię swoję: bo był zatwardził Pan, Bóg twój, ducha jego, i stwierdził serce jego, aby go podał w ręce twoje, jako to dziś widzisz.
But Sichon, the king of Cheshbon, would not suffer our passing by him; for the Lord thy God had hardened his spirit, and had made obstinate his heart, that he might deliver him into thy hand, as [hath happened] this day.
31 Tedy rzekł Pan do mnie: Otom ci już począł podawać w moc Sehona, i ziemię jego: pocznijże ją posiadać, abyś odziedziczył ziemię jego.
And the Lord said unto me, Behold, I have begun to give up Sichon and his land before thee: begin to drive him out, that thou mayest inherit his land.
32 Ruszył się tedy Sehon przeciwko nam, sam i wszystek lud jego, chcąc z nami zwieść bitwę w Jaza;
And Sichon came out against us, he and all his people, to the battle at Yahaz.
33 Ale go nam podał Pan, Bóg nasz, w moc, i poraziliśmy go, i syny jego i wszystek lud jego.
And the Lord our God gave him up before us; and we smote him, and his sons, and all his people.
34 I wzięliśmy wszystkie miasta jego na on czas, i wniwecześmy obrócili wszystkie miasta, mężczyzny i niewiasty, i dzieci, nie zostawiwszy z nich nikogo.
And we conquered all his cities at that time, and devoted every inhabited city, and the women, and the little ones; we left none that escaped.
35 Tylkośmy bydło pobrali sobie, i korzyści z miast, którycheśmy dobyli.
Only the cattle we took as booty unto ourselves, and the spoil of the cities which we had captured.
36 Od Aroer, które leży nad brzegiem potoku Arnon, i od miasta, które jest w dolinie aż do Galaad, nie było miasta, które by się nam nie podało; wszystkie podał nam Pan, Bóg nasz.
From 'Aro'er, which is by the bank of the brook of Arnon, and the city that is in the brook, even unto Gil'ad, there was not one city which was too strong for us; the whole did the Lord our God give up before us.
37 Tylkoś do ziemi synów Ammonowych nie dochodził ani do żadnego miejsca przyległego potokowi Jabok, ani do miast na górach, ani do żadnych miejsc, których zakazał Pan, Bóg nasz.
Only unto the land of the children of 'Ammon didst thou not come nigh, unto the whole margin of the brook Yabbok, and the cities in the mountain, and unto whatsoever the Lord our God had forbidden us.
