Amosa 4
1 Słuchajcie słowa tego, o krowy Basańskie! któreście na górach Samaryi, które uciskacie nędzników a niszczycie ubogich, które mówicie panom ich: Przynieście, abyśmy piły.
Hear these words, O ye kine of Bashan, That are on the mountain of Samaria; That oppress the poor; that crush the needy; That say to your master, Bring, and let us drink!
2 Przysiągł panujący Pan przez świętobliwość swoję, iż oto dni idą na was, których nieprzyjaciel weźmie was na haki, a potomki wasze na wędy rybackie, i wyjdziecie przerwami, każda tak jako stoi;
The Lord Jehovah hath sworn by his holiness; Behold, the days shall come upon you When ye shall be taken away with hooks, And your residue with fishing-hooks.
3 I będziecie rozrzucać cokolwiek było w pałacach waszych, mówi Pan.
And ye shall go out at the breaches, every one right forward, And ye shall be thrown into a castle, saith Jehovah.
4 Idźcież do Betel a bądzcie tułaczami w Galgal; rozmnóżcie przestępstwa, a przynoście na każdy poranek ofiary wasze, i trzeciego roku dziesięciny wasze;
Go, now, to Bethel, and transgress; At Gilgal multiply transgression! Bring your sacrifices every morning, And your tithes every three years!
5 A paląc ofiarę chwały z kwaszonych rzeczy, obwołajcie ofiary dobrowolne, i rozgłoście, ponieważ się wam tak podoba, o synowie Izraelscy! mówi panujący Pan.
Burn a thank-offering from your extortions, And proclaim the free-will offerings; publish them abroad! For this is your delight, ye sons of Israel, Saith the Lord, Jehovah.
6 A chociażem Ja wam dał czystość zębów we wszystkich miastach waszych, to jest, niedostatek chleba po wszystkich miejscach waszych, wszakżeście się nie nawrócili do mnie, mówi Pan.
I also have caused cleanness of teeth in all your cities, And want of bread in all your places; And yet ye have not returned to me, saith Jehovah.
7 Jam też zahamował od was deszcz, gdy jeszcze były trzy miesięce do żniwa, a spuściłem deszcz na jedne miasto, a na drugiem miasto nie spuścił; jedna dziedzina była deszczem odwilżona, a druga dziedzina, na którą deszcz nie padał, uschła.
I also have withholden from you the rain three months before the harvest; I have caused it to rain upon one city, And upon another city have I not caused it to rain; One piece of ground hath been rained upon, And another, upon which I have not caused it to rain, hath withered.
8 I chodziły dwa i trzy miasta do jednego miasta, aby piły wodę, a nie mogły się napić; a wszakżeście się nie nawrócili do mnie, mówi Pan.
Two or three cities have gone to one city, To drink water, and have not been satisfied; And yet ye have not returned to me, saith Jehovah.
9 Uderzyłem was suszą i rdzą; obfitość, którą przynosiły ogrody wasze, i winnice wasze, i figowe sady wasze, i oliwnice wasze, gąsienice pożarły, a wszakżeście się nie nawrócili do mnie, mówi Pan.
I have smitten you with blasting and mildew; The locust hath devoured your many gardens, Your vineyards, your fig-trees, and your olive-trees; Yet have ye not returned to me, saith Jehovah.
10 Posłałem na was mór, tak jako na Egipt, pobiłem mieczem młodzieńców waszych, w pojmaniem podał konie wasze, i sprawiłem, że smród wojsk waszych występował w nozdrza wasze; a wszakżeście się nie nawrócili do mnie, mówi Pan.
I have sent among you the pestilence after the manner of Egypt; I have slain your young men with the sword, And your horses have I led into captivity; I have made the smell of your camps to come up into your nostrils; And yet ye have not returned to me, saith Jehovah.
11 Wywróciłem was, jako Bóg wywrócił Sodomę i Gomorę, tak, żeście byli jako głownia wyrwana z ognia; a wszakżeście się nie nawrócili do mnie, mówi Pan.
I have overthrown some of you, as God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah; And ye were as a firebrand plucked out of the burning; And yet ye have not returned to me, saith Jehovah.
12 Przetoż tak ci uczynię, o Izraelu! a iż ci tak uczynić chcę, bądźże gotowym na zabieżenie Bogu swemu, o Izraelu!
Therefore thus will I deal with thee, O Israel! Yet since I will thus deal with thee, Prepare to meet thy God, O Israel!
13 Albowiem oto on jest, który kształtuje góry, a tworzy wiatry, i który oznajmuje człowiekowi, jaka jest myśl jego; on z rannej zorzy ciemność czyni, a depcze wysokości ziemi; Pan Bóg zastępów jest imię jego.
For behold, he formed the mountains, and created the wind; He declareth to man what is his thought; He maketh the morning darkness, And walketh upon the high places of the earth; Jehovah, God of hosts, is his name.
