Amosa 2

1 Tak mówi Pan: Dla trzech występków Moaba, owszem, dla czterech, nie przepuszczę mu, przeto, iż spalił kości króla Edomskiego na popiół;

Thus hath said the Lord, For three transgressions of Moab, and for four, will I not turn away their punishment; because he burnt the bones of the king of Edom into lime;

2 Ale poślę ogień na Moaba, który pożre pałace Karyjot; i umrze Moab w huku, w krzyku i w głosie trąby.

And I will send a fire against Moab, which shall devour the palaces of Keriyoth: and Moab shall die in the tumult, in the shouting, amidst the sound of the cornet;

3 I wygładzę sędziów z pośrodku jego, i wszystkich książąt jego pobiję z nim, mówi Pan.

And I will cut off the judges from her midst, and all her princes will I slay, with him, saith the Lord.

4 Tak mówi Pan: Dla trzech występków Judzkich, owszem, dla czterech, nie przepuszczę mu, przeto, że odrzucają zakon Pański, i ustaw jego nie przestrzegają, a dadzą się zwodzić kłamstwom swoim, których naśladowali ojcowie ich;

Thus hath said the Lord, For three transgressions of Judah, and for four, will I not turn away their punishment; because they have despised the law of the Lord, and did not keep his statutes, and their lying idols caused them to err, after which their fathers had walked;

5 Ale poślę ogień na Judę, który pożre pałace Jeruzalemskie.

And I will send out a fire against Judah, which shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem.

6 Tak mówi Pan: Dla trzech występków Izraelskich, owszem, dla czterech, nie przepuszczę mu, przeto, że sprawiedliwego za pieniądze sprzedawają, a ubogiego za parę trzewików;

Thus hath said the Lord, For three transgressions of Israel, and for four, will I not turn away their punishment; because they sold for silver the righteous, and the needy for a pair of shoes;

7 Którzy usiłują, aby na proch potarli głowy ubogich, a drogę pokornych podwracają; nadto syn i ojciec jego wchodzą do jednejże dziewki, aby splugawili imię świętobliwości mojej;

That are eager after the dust of the earth on the head of the poor, and turn aside the way of the meek: and a man and his father will go in unto the same young woman, in order to profane my holy name.

8 I na szatach zastawionych kłaniają się przy każdym ołtarzu, a wino tych, co podpadli pod kaźń, piją w domu bogów swoich.

And upon pledged garments they stretch themselves out by every altar, and the wine of the condemned do they drink in the house of their gods.

9 Chociażem Ja wytracił Amorejczyka od oblicza ich, którego wysokość była jako wysokość cedrów, aczkolwiek warownie stał jako dąb, wszakżem skaził owoc jego z wierzchu, a korzenie jego ze spodku.

Yet have I destroyed the Emorite from before them, whose height was like the height of cedars, and who was strong as the oaks; but I destroyed his fruit from above, and his roots from beneath.

10 A was wywiodłem z ziemi Egipskiej, i prowadziłem was po puszczy czterdzieści lat, żebyście posiedli ziemię Amorejczyka.

And it was I who have brought you up from the land of Egypt, and led you forty years through the wilderness, to take possession of the land of the Emorite.

11 Nadto wzbudzałem z synów waszych proroków, a z młodzieńców waszych Nazarejczyków; izali nie tak jest, o synowie Izraelowi? mówi Pan.

And I have raised up of your sons for prophets, and of your young men for nazarites: is it not even thus, O ye children of Israel? saith the Lord.

12 Aleście wy napawali Nazarejczyków winem, a prorokom zakazywaliście, mówiąc: Nie prorokujcie.

But ye have given the nazarites wine to drink; and concerning the prophets have ye commanded, saying, Ye shall not prophesy.

13 Oto Ja ścisnę ziemię waszę, tak jako ciśnie wóz napełniony snopami.

Behold, I press down [the ground] under you, as the wagon presseth [it] down that is full of sheaves.

14 I zginie ucieczka od prędkiego, a mocarz nie pokrzepi mocy swojej, i duży nie wybawi duszy swojej;

And refuge shall vanish from the swift, and the strong shall not make use of his force, neither shall the mighty man escape with his life.

15 A ten, który trzyma łuk, nie ostoi się, i prędki na nogi swe nie uciecze, a ten, który jeździ na koniu, nie zachowa duszy swej,

And he that handleth the bow shall not be able to stand; and he that is swift of foot shall not escape: neither shall he that rideth the horse escape with his life.

16 Ale i rycerz serca zmężałego między mocarzami nago uciecze w on dzień, mówi Pan.

And he that is most courageous hearted among the mighty shall flee away naked on that day, saith the Lord.
