II Samuela 8
1 I stało się potem, że poraził Dawid Filistyny, i poniżył je; a wziął Dawid Meteg Amma z rąk Filistyńskich.
And it came to pass after this, that David smote the Philistines, and humbled them: and David took Metheg-haammah out of the hand of the Philistines.
2 Poraził też i Moabity, które pomierzył sznurem, zrównawszy je z ziemią, i wymierzył ich dwa sznury na zabicie, a cały sznur na zachowanie przy żywocie; i byli Moabitowie sługami Dawidowymi, przynosząc mu podatki.
And he smote Moab, and measured them with a line, laying them down on the ground; and he measured with two lines to put to death, and with one full line to keep alive. And the Moabites became David's servants, bringing presents.
3 Poraził też Dawid Hadadezera, syna Rochobowego, króla Soby, gdy wyjechał, aby rozprzestrzenił granice swe nad rzeką Eufrates.
David smote also Hadad'ezer, the son of Rechob, the king of Zobah, as he went to extend his territory at the river Euphrates.
4 I pojmał z nich Dawid tysiąc i siedm set jezdnych, a dwadzieście tysięcy ludu pieszego. I poderznął Dawid żyły wszystkim woźnikom, zachowawszy koni do sta wozów.
And David captured from him a thousand and seven hundred horsemen, and twenty thousand men on foot: and David hamstringed all the chariot-teams, but reserved of them a hundred chariot-teams.
5 Przyciągnął tedy Syryjczyk z Damaszku na pomoc Hadadezerowi, królowi Soby, i poraził Dawid Syryjczyków dwadzieścia i dwa tysiące mężów.
And the Syrians of Damascus then came to aid Hadad'ezer, the king of Zobah, when David slew of the Syrians twenty and two thousand men.
6 I osadził Dawid żołnierzem Syryją Damaską. A tak Syryjczycy byli sługami Dawidowymi, przynosząc mu podatki; i bronił Pan Dawida wszędzie gdziekolwiek się obrócił.
And David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus: and the Syrians became servants to David, bearing presents. And the Lord helped David whithersoever he went.
7 Pobrał też Dawid tarcze złote, które mieli słudzy Hadadezerowi, i wniósł je do Jeruzalemu.
And David took the shields of gold that belonged to the servants of Hadad'ezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.
8 Przytem z Betachu i z Berotu, miast Hadadezerowych, przyniósł król Dawid bardzo wiele miedzi.
And from Betach, and from Berothai, cities of Hadad'ezer, did king David take exceedingly much copper.
9 To usłyszawszy Tohy, król Emat, iż poraził Dawid wszystko wojsko Hadadezerowe,
And when To'i the king of Chamath heard that David had smitten all the host of Hadad'ezer,
10 Posłał Tohy Jorama, syna swego, do króla Dawida, aby go pozdrowił w pokoju, i winszował mu, przeto że zwalczył Hadadezera, i poraził go, (albowiem walczył z Tohym Hadadezer, ) i przyniósł z sobą naczynia srebrne, i naczynia złote, i naczynia miedziane.
Then did To'i send Yoram his son unto king David, to ask him after his well-being, and to bless him, because that he had fought against Hadad'ezer, and smitten him; for Hadad'ezer had been engaged in wars with To'i; and he had in his hand vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and vessels of copper:
11 Które też rzeczy poświęcił król Dawid Panu z innem srebrem i złotem, które był poświęcił, pobrawszy od wszystkich narodów, które sobie podbił.
These also did king David sanctify unto the Lord, with the silver and gold that he had sanctified from all the nations which he subdued;
12 Jako od Syryjczyków, i od Moabczyków, i od synów Ammonowych, i od Filistynów, i od Amalekitów, i z łupów Hadadezera, syna Rochobowego, króla Soby.
From Syria, and from Moab, and from the children of 'Ammon, and from the Philistines, and from 'Amalek, and from the spoil of Hadad'ezer, the son of Rechob, the king of Zobah.
13 A tak uczynił sobie Dawid imię, gdy się wrócił poraziwszy Syryjczyki w dolinie solnej, gdzie pobił ośmnaście tysięcy ludu.
And David acquired a name when he returned from his smiting the Syrians in the valley of salt, eighteen thousand men.
14 Postanowił też straż w Edom, wszystkę ziemię Edomską osadziwszy żołnierzami; i byli wszyscy Edomczycy sługami Dawidowymi, a bronił Pan Dawida wszędzie, gdzie się obrócił.
And he put garrisons in Edom; throughout all Edom put he garrisons, and all the Edomites became servants to David. And the Lord helped David whithersoever he went.
15 I królował Dawid nad wszystkim Izraelem, i czynił sąd i sprawiedliwość wszystkiemu ludowi swemu.
And David reigned over all Israel; and David did what is just and right unto all his people.
16 A Joab, syn Sarwii, był nad wojskiem, a Jozafat syn Ahiluda, kanclerzem.
And Joab the son of Zeruyah was over the army; and Jehoshaphat the son of Achilud was recorder;
17 A Sadok, syn Achitoba, i Achimelech, syn Abijatara, byli kapłanami, a Saraja pisarzem.
And Zadok the son of Achitub, and Achimelech the son of Ebyathar, were priests; and Serayah was scribe;
18 Banajas też, syn Jojada, nad Cheretczykami i Feletczykami, a synowie Dawidowi byli książętami.
And Banayahu the son of Yehoyada' was over both the Kerethites and the Pelethites; and David's sons were officers of state.
