II Kronik 11
1 Przyjechawszy tedy Roboam do Jeruzalemu, zebrał dom Judowy i pokolenie Benjaminowe, sto i ośmdziesiąt tysięcy mężów przebranych do boju, aby walczyli z Izraelem, a żeby przywrócone było królestwo do Roboama.
And when Rehoboam had entered Jerusalem, he called together the house of Judah and Benjamin, a hundred and eighty thousand chosen men, warriors, —to fight against Israel, to bring back the kingdom to Rehoboam.
2 I stało się słowo Pańskie do Semejasza, męża Bożego, mówiąc:
Then came the word of Yahweh, unto Shemaiah the man of God, saying:
3 Powiedz Roboamowi, synowi Salomonowemu, królowi Judzkiemu, i wszystkiemu Izraelowi w Judzie i w pokoleniu Benjaminowem, mówiąc:
Speak unto Rehoboam son of Solomon, king of Judah, —and unto all Israel in Judah and in Benjamin, saying:
4 Tak mówi Pan: Nie wychodźcie, ani walczcie z braćmi waszymi, wróćcie się każdy do domu swego; albowiem odemnie stała się ta rzecz. I usłuchali słowa Pańskiego, i wrócili się, a nie ciągnęli przeciw Jeroboamowi.
Thus, saith Yahweh, Ye shall not go up neither shall ye fight against your brethren, return every man to his own house, for, from me, hath this thing been brought about. So they hearkened unto the words of Yahweh, and turned back from going against Jeroboam.
5 I mieszkał Roboam w Jeruzalemie, a pobudował miasta obronne w Judzie.
And Rehoboam dwelt in Jerusalem, —and built cities for defence, in Judah;
6 I zbudował Betlehem, i Etam i Tekue;
yea he built Bethlehem and Etam, and Tekoa;
7 I Betsur, i Soko, i Adullam:
and Beth-zur and Soco, and Adullam;
8 I Get, i Maresa, i Zyf:
and Gath and Mareshah, and Ziph;
9 I Adoraim, i Lachis, i Aseka;
and Adoraim and Lachish, and Azekah;
10 I Sora, i Ajalon, i Hebron, które były w Judzie i w pokoleniu Benjaminowem miasta obronne.
and Zorah, and Aijalon and Hebron, which are in Judah and Benjamin, —as fortified cities.
11 A gdy zmocnił one twierdze, postanowił w nich starostów, i wystawił szpichlerze dla zboża, i dla oliwy, i dla wina.
And he strengthened the fortified places, —and put therein captains, and stores of food, and oil and wine;
12 A w każdem mieście złożył tarcze i włócznie, a opatrzył je bardzo mocno: a tak panował nad Judą i Benjaminem.
and, in every several city, shields and spears, and made them exceedingly strong, —thus Judah and Benjamin remained his.
13 Kapłani też i Lewitowie, którzy byli we wszystkim Izraelu, zebrali się do niego ze wszystkich granic swoich.
And, the priests and Levites that were in all Israel, took their stand with him, out of all their boundaries.
14 Bo opuściwszy Lewitowie przedmieścia swoje, i osiadłości swoje, szli do Judy i do Jeruzalemu; (gdyż był ich wyrzucił Jeroboam i synowie jego, aby nie odprawowali urzędu kapłańskiego Panu.
For the Levites left their pasture lands, and their possessions, and came to Judah, and to Jerusalem, —for Jeroboam and his sons cast them off, from ministering as priests unto Yahweh;
15 I postanowił sobie kapłanów po wyżynach, i dyjabłom, i cielcom, których był naczynił.)
and appointed for himself priests for the high places, and for the demons—and for the calves which he had made.
16 A za nimi ze wszystkich pokoleń Izraelskich, którzy obrócili serca swe ku szukaniu Pana, Boga Izraelskiego, przyszli do Jeruzalemu, aby ofiarowali Panu, Bogu ojców swoich.
And, after them—out of all the tribes of Israel, such as were setting their heart to seek Yahweh God of Israel, came to Jerusalem, to sacrifice unto Yahweh, God of their fathers.
17 A tak umocnili królestwo Judzkie, i utwierdzili Roboama, syna Salomonowego, przez trzy lata; albowiem chodzili drogą Dawida i Salomona przez one trzy lata.
So they strengthened the kingdom of Judah, and emboldened Rehoboam son of Solomon, for three years, —for they walked in the way of David and Solomon, for three years.
18 Potem pojął sobie Roboam za żonę Mahalatę córkę Jerymota, syna Dawidowego, i Abihailę, córkę Elijaba, syna Isajego.
And Rehoboam took him to wife, Mahalath, daughter of Jerimoth, son of David, —and Abihail, daughter of Eliab, son of Jesse;
19 Która mu urodziła synów: Jehusa, i Semaryjasza, i Zaama.
and she bare him sons, —Jeush and Shamariah and Zaham.
20 A po niej pojął Maachę, córkę Absalomową, która mu urodziła Abijasza, i Etaja, i Sysę, i Salomitę.
And, after her, he took Maacah, daughter of Absolom, —and she bare him Abijah, and Attai, and Ziza, and Shelomith.
21 I miłował Roboam Maachę, córkę Absalomową, nad wszystkie żony swoje, i nad założnice swoje. Albowiem pojął był żon ośmnaście, a założnic sześćdziesiąt, i spłodził dwadzieścia i ośm synów i sześćdziesiąt córek.
And Rehoboam loved Maacah daughter of Absolom, above all his wives and his concubines, for, eighteen wives, took he, and sixty concubines, —and begat twenty-eight sons, and sixty daughters.
22 I postanowił Roboam Abijasza, syna Maachy, za księcia, za hetmana między braćmi jego; albowiem zamyślał go uczynić królem.
So then Rehoboam appointed Abijah son of Maacah as head, to be chief ruler among his brethren, —yea that he might make him king.
23 A roztropnie sobie postępując, rozsadził wszystkich innych synów swych po wszystkich krainach Judzkich i Benjaminowych, po wszystkich miastach obronnych, i opatrzył ich dostatkiem żywności, i nadał im wiele żon.
So he took heed, and dispersed all his sons throughout all the lands of Judah and Benjamin, unto all the fortified cities, and gave them food in abundance, —and asked a multitude of wives.
