I Tymoteusza 2
1 Napominam tedy, aby przed wszystkiemi rzeczami czynione były prośby, modlitwy, przyczyny i dziękowania za wszystkich ludzi;
I Exhort therefore, that first of all supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giuing of thanks be made for all men,
2 Za królów i za wszystkich w przełożeństwie będących, abyśmy cichy i spokojny żywot wiedli we wszelkiej pobożności i uczciwości.
For Kings, and for all that are in authoritie, that we may leade a quiet and a peaceable life, in all godlinesse and honestie.
3 Albowiem to jest rzecz dobra i przyjemna przed Bogiem, zbawicielem naszym,
For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Sauiour,
4 Który chce, aby wszyscy ludzie byli zbawieni i ku znajomości prawdy przyszli.
Who will that all men shalbe saued, and come vnto the acknowledging of the trueth.
5 Boć jeden jest Bóg, jeden także pośrednik między Bogiem i ludźmi, człowiek Chrystus Jezus.
For there is one God, and one Mediatour betweene God and man, which is the man Christ Iesus,
6 Który dał samego siebie na okup za wszystkich, co jest świadectwem czasów jego.
Who gaue himselfe a ransome for all men, to be that testimonie in due time,
7 Na com ja jest postanowiony za kaznodzieję i Apostoła, (prawdę mówię w Chrystusie, nie kłamię), za nauczyciela pogan w wierze i w prawdzie.
Whereunto I am ordeined a preacher and an Apostle (I speake the trueth in Christ, and lie not) euen a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and veritie.
8 Chcę tedy, aby się mężowie modlili na każdem miejscu, podnosząc czyste ręce bez gniewu i bez poswarku.
I will therefore that the men pray, euery where lifting vp pure hands without wrath, or douting.
9 Także i niewiasty, aby się ubiorem przystojnym ze wstydem i skromnością zdobiły, nie z trefionemi włosami, albo złotem, albo perłami, albo szatami kosztownemi,
Likewise also the women, that they aray themselues in comely apparell, with shamefastnes and modestie, not with broyded heare, or gold, or pearles, or costly apparell,
10 Ale (jako przystoi niewiastom, które się ozywają do pobożności), dobremi uczynkami.
But (as becommeth women that professe the feare of God) with good workes.
11 Niewiasta niech się uczy w milczeniu ze wszelkiem poddaństwem.
Let the woman learne in silence with all subiection.
12 Bo niewieście nie pozwalam uczyć, ani władzy mieć nad mężem, ale aby była w milczeniu.
I permit not a woman to teache, neither to vsurpe authoritie ouer the man, but to be in silence.
13 Bo Adam pierwszy stworzony jest, potem Ewa.
For Adam was first formed, then Eue.
14 I Adam nie był zwiedziony, ale niewiasta zwiedziona będąc, przestępstwa przyczyną była.
And Adam was not deceiued, but the woman was deceiued, and was in the transgression.
15 Lecz zbawiona będzie przez rodzenie dziatek, jeźliby zostały w wierze i w miłości, i w świętobliwości z miernością.
Notwithstanding, through bearing of children she shalbe saued if they continue in faith, and loue, and holines with modestie.
