I Kronik 14
1 Potem posłał Hiram, król Tyrski, posłów do Dawida, i drzewa cedrowe, i murarzy i cieśli, aby mu zbudowali dom.
And Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar trees, and masons, and carpenters, to build for him a house.
2 I poznał Dawid, iż go utwierdził Pam królem nad Izraelem, a iż wywyższył królestwo jego dla ludu swego Izraelskiego.
And David perceived that Jehovah had established him king over Israel, for his kingdom was exalted on high for his people Israel's sake.
3 (I pojął Dawid więcej żon w Jeruzalemie, a spłodził Dawid więcej synów i córek.
And David took more wives at Jerusalem, and David begot more sons and daughters.
4 A teć są imiona tych, którzy mu się urodzili w Jeruzalemie: Samna, i Sobab, Natan, i Salomon,
And these are the names of the children whom he had in Jerusalem: Shammua, and Shobab, Nathan, and Solomon,
5 I Ibchar, i Elisua, i Elfalet,
and Ibhar, and Elishua, and Elpelet,
6 I Noga, i Nefeg, i Jafija,
and Nogah, and Nepheg, and Japhia,
7 I Elisama, i Beelijada, i Elifelet.)
and Elishama, and Beeliada, and Eliphelet.
8 Wtem usłyszawszy Filistynowie, że był pomazany Dawid za króla nad wszystkim Izraelem, wyciągnęli wszyscy Filistynowie, aby szukali Dawida. Co gdy usłyszał Dawid, wyszedł przeciwko nim.
And when the Philistines heard that David was anointed king over all Israel, all the Philistines went up to seek David. And David heard of it, and went out against them.
9 Bo Filistynowie przyciągnąwszy rozpostarli się w dolinie Rafaim.
Now the Philistines had come and made a raid in the valley of Rephaim.
10 I radził się Dawid Boga, mówiąc: Mamli iść przeciw Filistynom? a podaszli ich w ręce moje? I odpowiedział mu Pan: Idź a podam ich w ręce twoje.
And David inquired of God, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? And will thou deliver them into my hand? And Jehovah said to him, Go up, for I will deliver them into thy hand.
11 A gdy oni przyciągnęli do Baal Perazym, poraził ich tam Dawid, i rzekł Dawid: Rozerwał Bóg nieprzyjacioły moje przez rękę moję, jako się rozrywają wody; a przetoż nazwano imię miejsca onego Baal Perazym.
So they came up to Baal-perazim, and David smote them there. And David said, God has broken my enemies by my hand like the breach of waters. Therefore they called the name of that place Baal-perazim.
12 I zostawili tam bogi swoje; a Dawid rozkazał, aby je spalono ogniem.
And they left their gods there. And David gave commandment, and they were burned with fire.
13 Lecz zebrawszy się znowu Filistynowie rozpostarli się w dolinie.
And the Philistines yet again made a raid in the valley.
14 Przetoż radził się znowu Dawid Boga. I rzekł mu Bóg: Nie ciągnij za nimi, ale się odwróć od nich, abyś na nich natarł przeciwko morwom.
And David inquired again of God. And God said to him, Thou shall not go up after them. Turn away from them, and come upon them opposite the mulberry trees.
15 A gdy usłyszysz szum idącego po wierzchach morwowych, tedy wynijdziesz do bitwy; bo wyszedł Bóg przed tobą, aby poraził wojska Filistyńskie.
And it shall be, when thou hear the sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then thou shall go out to battle. For God has gone out before thee to smite the army of the Philistines.
16 I uczynił Dawid, jako mu był rozkazał Bóg; i porazili wojska Filistyńskie od Gabaon aż do Gazer.
And David did as God commanded him, and they smote the army of the Philistines from Gibeon even to Gezer.
17 A tak rozsławiło się imię Dawidowe po wszystkich ziemiach: i sprawił to Pan, że był straszny wszystkim narodom.
And the fame of David went out into all lands. And Jehovah brought the fear of him upon all nations.
