1 Oto rodowód Jezusa Chrystusa, pochodzącego z rodu króla Dawida, potomka Abrahama:
The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.
2 Abraham był ojcem Izaaka, Izaak—ojcem Jakuba, a Jakub—ojcem Judy i jego braci.
Abraham begat Isaac, and Isaac begat Jacob, and Jacob begat Judah and his brethren;
3 Kolejni potomkowie Judy to: Fares i jego brat Zara (ich matką była Tamar), Ezrom, Aram,
and Judah had Phares and Zara by Thamar; and Phares begat Esrom,
4 Aminadab, Naasson, Salmon,
and Esrom begat Aram, and Aram begat Aminadab, and Aminadab begat Naasson, and Naasson begat Salmon,
5 Booz (jego matką była Rachab), Jobed (jego matką była Rut), Jesse
and Salmon had Booz by Rahab, and Booz had Obed by Ruth,

7 Roboam, Abiasz, Asa,
And Solomon begat Roboam, and Roboam begat Abia,
8 Jozafat, Joram, Ozjasz,
and Abia begat Asa, and Asa begat Josaphat, and Josaphat begat Joram,
9 Joatam, Achaz, Ezechiasz,
and Joram begat Ozias, and Ozias begat Joatham, and Joatham begat Ahaz, and Ahaz begat Ezechias,
10 Manasses, Amos i Jozjasz.
and Ezechias begat Manasses, and Manasses begat Amon,
11 Jozjasz był ojcem Jechoniasza i jego braci (był to czas przesiedlenia Żydów do Babilonu).
and Amon begat Josias, and Josias begat Jakim, and Jakim begat Jechonias and his brethren, about the time of their being carried away to Babylon.

And after the captivity of Babylon, Jechonias begat Salathiel,
13 Abijud, Eliakim, Azor,
and Salathiel begat Zorobabel, and Zorobabel begat Abiud, and Abiud begat Eliakim, and Eliakim begat Azor,
14 Sadok, Achim, Eliud,
and Azor begat Sadok, and Sadok begat Achim,
15 Eleazar, Mattan i Jakub.
and Achim begat Eliud, and Eliud begat Eleazar, and Eleazar begat Matthan, and Matthan begat Jacob,
16 Jakub zaś był ojcem Józefa, męża Marii, która urodziła Jezusa, zwanego Chrystusem.
and Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus who is called Christ.
17 Tak więc wszystkich pokoleń, od Abrahama do Dawida, było czternaście, od Dawida do przesiedlenia babilońskiego—czternaście, i od przesiedlenia do Chrystusa—również czternaście.
All the generations therefore from Abraham to David are fourteen generations: and from David until the captivity of Babylon fourteen generations: and from the Babylonish captivity unto Christ, fourteen generations.
18 Jezus Chrystus urodził się w takich oto okolicznościach: Jego matka, Maria, była zaręczona z Józefem. Ale zanim wspólnie zamieszkali, za sprawą Ducha Świętego zaszła w ciążę.
Now the birth of Jesus Christ was in wise: when Mary his mother was promised in marriage to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child by the Holy Ghost:

but Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing publicly to expose her, was inclined to break off the contract with her privately;
20 Gdy już to postanowił, we śnie ukazał mu się anioł Pana, który rzekł: —Józefie, potomku króla Dawida! Nie bój się ożenić z Marią, twoją narzeczoną! Bo to Duch Święty sprawił, że poczęła dziecko.
and when he was thinking on these things, behold an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, Joseph thou Son of David, scruple not to take unto thee Mary thy wife; for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.
21 Urodzi syna, któremu nadasz imię Jezus (czyli „Bóg zbawia”), bo to On wybawi od grzechów swój naród.
And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus, for he shall save his people from their sins.
22 Stało się tak, aby wypełniło się to, co Pan przepowiedział przez proroka:
(Now all this came to pass, that it might be fulfilled, which the Lord spake by the prophet, saying,
23 „Oto dziewica pocznie i urodzi Syna i nazwą Go Emmanuel” (co znaczy: „Bóg jest z nami”).
"Behold a virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel," which is God with us.)
24 Gdy Józef się obudził, zgodnie z poleceniem anioła przyjął Marię, jako żonę, do swojego domu.
So Joseph, when he awoke from his sleep, did as the angel of the Lord directed him, and took home his wife:
25 Nie współżył z nią jednak aż do czasu, gdy urodziła Syna. I dał Mu na imię Jezus.
and he knew her not, till she brought forth her Son the first-born, and he called his name Jesus.
