II Koryntian 9
1 Myślę, że nie muszę już wam więcej pisać o tej zbiórce darów.
For of the relief which is for the saints, it is needless for me to write to you.
2 Wiem przecież, że sami chętnie w niej uczestniczycie. Pochwaliłem się nawet wierzącym z Macedonii, że kościoły z prowincji Azja są do niej gotowe już od roku. A wasz zapał udzielił się wielu innym.
For I know your readiness of mind, on account of which I boasted of you to the Macedonians, that Achaia was ready a year ago: and your zeal has incited very many.
3 Wysłałem więc wspomnianych wierzących, aby się upewnić, że zebraliście już pieniądze. Cieszę się, iż nie pomyliłem się, tak bardzo was chwaląc!
But I have sent the brethren, that our boasting of you in this respect may not be in vain; that you may be ready, as I said:
4 Byłoby bowiem nam wszystkim wstyd, gdyby wierzący z Macedonii przybyli ze mną do was i stwierdzili, że nie jesteście gotowi.
lest, possibly, should the Macedonians come with me, and find you unprepared, we (not to say you) might be made ashamed by this same confident boasting.
5 Dlatego właśnie uznałem, że warto wcześniej wysłać do was Tytusa i innych, aby dopilnowali zapowiedzianych wcześniej przygotowań. Dzięki temu mieliście możliwość złożenia daru nie pod przymusem, ale z serca.
Therefore, I thought it necessary to exhort the brethren to go before to you, and make ready beforehand your bounty, which has been so much talked of before, that this might be ready as a bounty, and not as a gift extorted from you.
6 Kto mało sieje, mało zbiera. A kto wiele sieje, wiele też zbiera.
But remember this, that he who sows sparingly, shall also reap sparingly; and he who sows bountifully, shall also reap bountifully.
7 Niech więc każdy w sercu postanowi, ile chce dać—bez żalu, ale też bez przymusu. Bóg kocha bowiem tych, którzy dają z radością.
Let each one give, as he purposes in his heart; not with grief, nor from necessity: for God loves a cheerful giver.
8 Co więcej—potrafi to hojnie wynagrodzić! On może dać wam wszystko, czego potrzebujecie, abyście wy z kolei mogli pomagać innym.
And God is able to confer every gift upon you abundantly, that you, always having all sufficiency in every thing, may have enough for every good work;
9 Pismo mówi bowiem: „Człowiek, który kocha Boga, hojnie wspomaga biednych i zawsze czyni to, co słuszne”. (aiōn g165)
as it is written: He has scattered abroad; he has given to the poor; his righteousness remains forever. (aiōn g165)
10 Bóg, daje rolnikom ziarno, a z ziarna—chleb. On rozmnoży również wasz dar i sprawi, że wasza prawość przyniesie dobry plon.
Now, he that furnishes seed to the sower will both furnish bread for food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;
11 On obdarzy was wszystkim, czego potrzebujecie, abyście nadal mogli być hojni wobec innych. My zaś będziemy dziękować Bogu za waszą postawę.
that you may be enriched in every thing, for all liberality which produces through us thanksgiving to God;
12 Pomoc dla wierzących z Jerozolimy nie tylko bowiem zaspokaja ich materialne potrzeby, ale wzbudza w nich ogromną wdzięczność dla Boga.
because the administration of this service not only supplies the wants of the saints, but also abounds in many thanksgivings to God;
13 Otrzymawszy wasz dar, będą Go wielbić za to, że jesteście wierni dobrej nowinie Chrystusa i hojni wobec innych Jego wyznawców.
(since through the proof which this service gives, they glorify God for your acknowledged subjection to the gospel of Christ, and for the liberality of your contribution for them, and for all; )
14 Będą też gorąco modlić się za was, widząc, że doświadczyliście ogromnej łaski od Boga.
and in their prayer for you, since they have strong affection for you on account of the eminent grace of God that is in you.
15 Niech Bogu będą dzięki za Jego bezcenny dar!
Thanks be to God for his unspeakable gift.
