I Koryntian 14
1 Dążcie do miłości, a z darów duchowych starajcie się zwłaszcza o dar prorokowania.
Follow after love; and be emulous of the gifts of the Spirit, and especially, that ye may prophesy.
2 Ten bowiem, kto mówi obcymi językami, mówi tylko do Boga, a nie do ludzi. Nikt go nie rozumie, bo Duch przemawia przez niego w tajemniczy sposób.
For he that speaketh in a tongue, speaketh not unto men, but unto God; for no one understandeth what is said; yet in the spirit, he speaketh a mystery.
3 Ten jednak, kto prorokuje, mówi do ludzi, niosąc im słowa pokrzepienia, zachęty i otuchy.
But he that prophesieth, speaketh unto men, for edification, and exhortation, and consolation.
4 Kto mówi obcymi językami, wzmacnia tylko swoją własną wiarę. Kto zaś prorokuje, wzmacnia wiarę całego kościoła.
He that speaketh in a tongue, edifieth himself: and he that prophesieth, edifieth the church.
5 Chciałbym, abyście wszyscy mówili językami, ale jeszcze bardziej pragnąłbym, abyście prorokowali. Ten, kto prorokuje, spełnia bowiem ważniejszą rolę od tego, kto mówi w nieznanym języku—chyba że jest ktoś, kto potrafi to przetłumaczyć, aby było to zachętą dla kościoła.
Now I would that ye all spoke with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied; for greater is he that prophesieth, than he that speaketh in a tongue, unless he interpret; and if he interpret, he edifieth the church.
6 Przyjaciele, jaką odnieślibyście korzyść, gdybym przyszedł do was i przemówił w jakimś niezrozumiałym języku, a nie przekazał wam w normalny sposób jakiegoś objawienia, jakiejś wiedzy, proroctwa lub nauki?
And now, my brethren, if I should come among you, and speak to you in tongues, what should I profit you; unless I should speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophecy, or by doctrine?
7 Gdyby nie dało się rozróżnić dźwięku poszczególnych instrumentów muzycznych, na przykład fletu lub harfy, to jak można byłoby rozpoznać, na czym ktoś gra?
For even inanimate things that emit sound, whether pipe or harp, if they make no distinction between one sound and another, how will it be known, what is sung or what is harped?
8 A jeśli dźwięk trąbki zabrzmiałby niewyraźnie, czy wojsko ruszyłoby do boju?
And if the trumpet shall give an uncertain sound, who will prepare himself for the battle?
9 Również i wy, jeśli będziecie mówić w nieznanym języku, nikt was nie zrozumie. Będziecie mówić jak do ściany.
So likewise if ye utter a discourse in a tongue, and there is no interpretation given, how will it be known what ye have said? Ye will have been as if ye spoke into the air.
10 Na świecie istnieje wiele różnych języków i żaden z nich nie jest pozbawiony sensu,
For lo, there are many kinds of tongues in the world; and there is not one of them without meaning.
11 ale jeśli nie rozumiem tego, co ktoś do mnie mówi, to jesteśmy dla siebie obcokrajowcami.
But if I do not know the import of the sound, I shall be a barbarian to him that speaketh, and the speaker will be a barbarian to me.
12 Skoro tak bardzo zależy wam na darach duchowych, to starajcie się o te, które przynoszą pożytek całemu kościołowi.
So also ye, since ye are emulous of the gifts of the Spirit for the edification of the church, seek ye to excel.
13 Niech więc ten, kto ma dar mówienia obcym językiem, prosi Boga również o dar tłumaczenia go.
And let him that speaketh in a tongue, pray that he may interpret.
14 Gdybym bowiem modlił się w niezrozumiałym języku, w duchu wprawdzie wołałbym do Boga, ale mój umysł nic by z tego nie rozumiał.
For if I should pray in a tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is without fruits.
15 Jak więc powinienem się zachować? Będę się modlił i śpiewał moim duchem, ale także umysłem!
What then shall I do? I will pray with my spirit, and will pray with my understanding; and I will sing with my spirit, and will sing with my understanding.
16 Jak bowiem ktoś może cieszyć się słysząc twoje uwielbienie dla Boga, skoro tego nie rozumie?
Otherwise, if thou blessest in the spirit, how shall he that filleth the place of one unlearned, say Amen, on thy giving thanks; for he knoweth not what thou sayest?
17 Ty co prawda cudownie dziękujesz Bogu, ale inni nie mają z tego żadnego pożytku.
Thou blessest, indeed, very well; but thy neighbor is not edified.
18 Jestem wdzięczny Bogu za to, że mówię obcymi językami lepiej niż wy wszyscy.
I thank God, that I speak with tongues more than all of you.
19 W czasie wspólnych spotkań wolę jednak powiedzieć w zrozumiały sposób pięć słów, aby w ten sposób czegoś nauczyć innych wierzących, niż wypowiedzieć dziesięć tysięcy słów w jakimś niezrozumiałym języku.
But in the church, I would rather speak five words with my understanding, that I might instruct others, than a myriad of words in a tongue.
20 Przyjaciele, nie bądźcie dziecinni w waszym sposobie myślenia, ale bądźcie niemowlętami w waszym stosunku do zła—bądźcie niewinni jak one. Bądźcie dojrzali w waszym myśleniu!
My brethren, be ye not children in your thoughts; but to evil things be ye infants; and in your thoughts be men.
21 W Prawie Mojżesza czytamy: „Bóg mówi: Przemówię do mojego ludu w obcych językach i zwrócę się do nich ustami obcokrajowców, ale i tak Mnie nie posłuchają”.
In the law it is written, With a foreign speech, and in another tongue, will I speak with this people; and even so also they will not hearken to me, saith the Lord.
22 Widzicie więc, że dar mówienia obcymi językami nie jest znakiem prowadzącym do wiary, lecz do niewiary. Dar proroctwa natomiast, prowadzi ludzi do wiary.
Wherefore, tongues are established for a sign, not to the believers, but to them that believe not. But prophesyings are not for those who believe not, but for them that believe.
23 Gdybyście się więc razem spotkali i zaczęli mówić obcymi językami, a wtedy weszliby na spotkanie jacyś prości ludzie, to czy nie powiedzą, że oszaleliście?
If therefore the whole church assemble, and they all speak with tongues, and there come in unlearned persons, or such as believe not, will they not say: These people are crazy?
24 Ale gdybyście korzystali z daru proroctwa, to słuchający was prości ludzie lub poganie byliby głęboko poruszeni i przekonani o swoim grzechu.
But if ye should be all prophesying, and one unlearned or an unbeliever should come among you, he is explored by you all, and rebuked by you all;
25 Najskrytsze myśli ich serc zostałyby bowiem ujawnione, a oni padliby na twarz, wyznając: „Naprawdę Bóg jest wśród was!”.
and the secrets of his heart are laid open to him: and so he will fall upon his face, and will worship God, and say: Verily, God is in you.
26 Jaki z tego wniosek, przyjaciele? Podczas wspólnych spotkań jeden śpiewa, drugi naucza, inny dzieli się objawieniem od Boga, ktoś mówi w obcym języku, a jeszcze inny go tłumaczy—ale wszystko niech służy umacnianiu wiary wierzących.
I therefore say to you my brethren, that when ye assemble, whoever of you hath a psalm, let him speak; and whoever hath a doctrine, and whoever hath a revelation, and whoever hath a tongue, and whoever hath an interpretation. Let them all be for edification.
27 Obcymi językami niech mówią dwie, najwyżej trzy osoby, i to po kolei, a ktoś inny niech je tłumaczy.
And if any speak in a tongue, let two speak or at most, three; and let them speak one by one; and let some one interpret.
28 Gdyby zaś na spotkaniu nie było tłumaczącego, niech milczą. Mogą jedynie w duchu mówić do siebie i do Boga.
And if there is none to interpret, let him that speaketh in a tongue, be silent in the church; and let him speak to himself and to God.
29 Jeśli chodzi o proroków, to również niech przemawia dwóch lub trzech, a pozostali niech poddają ich słowa ocenie.
And as to prophets, let two or three speak, and let the rest judge.
30 Gdyby w trakcie ich przemówienia ktoś inny otrzymał od Boga słowo, pierwszy mówiący niech przerwie.
And if to another sitting by, there should be a revelation, let the first stop speaking.
31 Dzięki temu wszyscy po kolei możecie prorokować, nauczając i zachęcając siebie nawzajem.
For ye can all prophesy, one by one; so that every one may learn, and every one be comforted.
32 Prorocy niech panują nad swoim darem i niech dopuszczają do głosu innych wierzących, którzy pragną coś powiedzieć.
For the spirit of the prophets is subject to the prophets.
33 Bóg kocha bowiem porządek, nie zamieszanie. We wszystkich kościołach, gdzie gromadzą się święci Boga,
Because, God is not the author of tumult, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.
34 kobiety mają na spotkaniach milczeć. Nie mogą zabierać głosu, gdyż—jak mówi Prawo—mają okazywać uległość.
Let your women be silent in the church: for it is not permitted them to speak, but to be in subjection, as also the law saith.
35 Jeśli chcą się czegoś dowiedzieć, niech pytają w domu mężów, bo nie wypada, aby kobieta przemawiała podczas zgromadzeń.
And if they wish to be informed on any subject, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is unbecoming for women to speak in the church.
36 Czy myślicie, że słowo Boże wyszło na świat od was? Albo czy sądzicie, że dotarło tylko do was?
What! was it from you that the word of God came forth? Or did it reach only to you?
37 Kto uważa się za proroka lub obdarzonego innym duchowym darem, niech dobrze zapamięta, że to, co mówię, jest nakazem samego Boga.
And if any one among you thinketh that he is a prophet, or that he is spiritual, let him recognize the things which I write to you, as being the precepts of our Lord.
38 Kto tego nie uznaje, sam również nie będzie uznany.
But if any one be ignorant, let him be ignorant.
39 Zatem, moi przyjaciele, starajcie się o dar prorokowania i nie zabraniajcie mówić obcymi językami.
Wherefore, my brethren, be emulous of prophesying: and to speak with tongues, prohibit not.
40 Ale wszystko niech odbywa się godnie i w należytym porządku.
But let every thing be done with decency and regularity.
