< Psalms 9 >
1 I MEN kapina leowa jan nan monion i meler, o kajokajoiia duen japwilim omui dodok kapuriamui kan karoj.
Yahweh, I will praise you with all of my inner being. I will tell [others] about all the wonderful things that you have done.
2 I men pereperen o polauleki komui o kauleki mar omui; komui me lapalapia,
I will sing to celebrate what you [MTY], who are much greater than all other gods, [have done].
3 Pwe re kotin kaloedier ai imwintiti kan, irail pupedier o melar.
When my enemies realize [that you are very powerful], they stumble, and then they are killed.
4 Pwe re kotin apwali ia ni ai pun o ai dodok. Komui kainpokedi pon mol omui duen jaunkapun pun amen.
You sat on your throne to judge people, and you have judged fairly/justly concerning me.
5 Kom kotin kapun on men liki kan o kotin kamela me japun kan, kom kotin kawelar mar arail kokolata.
You rebuked the [people of other] nations and you have gotten rid of the wicked people; you have erased their names forever.
6 Imwintiti o joredier, a namenokalar melel. Komui kotin wuketedi kanim akan; o jolar, me pan taman irail ada o tou ar akan.
Our enemies have disappeared; you destroyed their cities, and people do not even remember them any more.
7 A Ieowa pan kotin kaunda kokolata. A kotin kaonopada mol a, pwen kadeikada.
But Yahweh rules forever. He judges [people while he sits] on his throne to judge people,
8 O a pan kotin kadeikada jappa ni pun, o kakaunda wei kan pun.
and he will judge [all the people in] [SYN] the world justly; he will judge the people [of all nations] fairly [DOU].
9 Ieowa jile pan me jamama kan, jilepa ni anjau apwal.
Yahweh will be a refuge for those who are oppressed; [yes, he will be like] a shelter for them when they have trouble.
10 I me irail, me aja mar omui kin liki komui, pwe komui jota kin muei jan irail, me kin rapaki komui, Main Ieowa.
Those who know Yahweh [MTY] trust in him; he never abandons those who come to him ([for help/to worship him]).
11 Kauleki Ieowa, me kin kaunda nan Jion. Komail padaki on wei kan a wiawia!
Yahweh rules from Zion [Hill]; praise him while you sing to him. Tell [the people of all] the nations the [marvelous] things that he has done.
12 Pwe a kotin taman irail ada o kotin kainoma nta’rail. A jota kin kotin maliela likwir en me jamama kan.
He does not forget [to punish] those who have murdered others; and he will not ignore people who are crying because they are suffering.
13 Main Ieowa, kom kotin maki on ia. Re kotin mani ai apwal ren ai imwintiti kan, kom kotin dore ia la jan nan wanim en mela.
Yahweh, be merciful to me! Look at the ways that my enemies have injured me. Do not allow me to die [because of these injuries].
14 Pwe i en kajokajoiia duen omui dodok kapuriamui pan wanim en nain Jion, perenki jauaj pa om.
I want to live in order that I can praise you at the gates of Jerusalem [MTY] and to rejoice because you rescued me.
15 Men liki kan pupedi on nan por o, me pein irail weiradar, o nil’rail lodi on injar, me pein irail wiadar.
[It is as though] the [wicked people of many] nations have dug a pit for me to fall into [MET], but they have fallen into that same pit. [It is as if] they spread out a net to catch me [MET], but their feet have been caught in that same net.
16 I me kitail ajaki, Ieowa me kotin kapun pun. Me japun kan jalidi on pein ar dodok en pa ar akan. (Jela)
Because of what you have done, people know that you decide matters [fairly/justly], but [you allow] wicked people to be trapped by the same evil things that they themselves do.
17 Me japun kan en lokidokila nan wajan mela, o men liki kan karoj, me kin monokela Kot. (Sheol )
Wicked people will all [die and] be buried in their graves, and [their spirits] will go to be with all those who have (forgotten about/rejected) you. (Sheol )
18 Pwe me jamama o jota pan monokinokla kokolata, o me luet akan jota pan kaporoporeki mal kokolata.
But you will not forget those who are needy/poor; what they confidently expect will certainly happen.
19 Main, kom kotida! Pwe aramaj ender pwaida, a men liki kan karoj en pakadeikada mo omui.
Yahweh, arise and judge the [wicked] people of the nations; do not allow them to think that [because they are strong] they will never be punished.
20 Main, kotiki on ir men kamajak, pwe men liki kan en dedeki, me re udan aramaj eta. (Jela)
Yahweh, teach them to be terrified about you. Cause them to know that they are merely human beings.
