< Matäuj 2 >
1 A IEJUJ lao ipwidier Petleem nan ludiia ni muein nanmarki Erodej, kilan ol lolekon kei ap pwarado jan ni maj en Ian ko don Ierujalem, kalelapok:
Now, after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,
2 la Nanmarki en Juj akan, me apton ipwidier, kotikot ia? Pwe je kilaner a uju ni jap en maj en lan ap pwarado, pwen poni i.
Saying, Where is he that is born king of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and have come to worship him.
3 A nanmarki Erodej lao ronadar mepukat, ap landar o toun Ierujalem karoj,
When Herod the king had heard [these things], he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.
4 Ap kupokon pena jamero lapalap karoj o jounkawewe en aramaj akan kainoma re’rail, wasa Krijtuj pan ipwidi ia.
And when he had assembled all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he inquired of them where Christ should be born.
5 Petleem en Iudaa; pwe iduen a intinidi ren jaukop o:
And they said to him, In Bethlehem of Judea: for thus it is written by the prophet,
6 A koe Petleem, jap en Iuda, kaidin me tikitik nan pun en jaupeidi en Iuda kan; pwe Kaun amen pan tapi jan uk, me pan kaunda nai aramaj en Ijrael akan.
And thou Bethlehem, [in] the land of Judah, art not the least among the princes of Judah: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel.
7 Erodej ap kawai pena ol lolekon kan, kalelapok mau re’rail anjau o, me uju o pwarado.
Then Herod, when he had privately called the wise men, inquired of them diligently what time the star appeared.
8 I ari porone ir alan Petleem majani: Komail kowei raparapaki mau jeri o; a komail lao diaradar, en kaireki don ia, pwe I en pil kola poni i.
And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go, and search diligently for the young child; and when ye have found [him], bring me word again, that I may come and worship him also.
9 Irail lao roner nanmarki o ap koieila. A kilan uju o, me irail kilaner nan jap en maj en lan, ti on mo’rail, a lao udi on waja o, me jeri pwelel kotikot ia.
When they had heard the king, they departed; and lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was.
10 Irail lao kilaner uju o, re ap peren kida kaualapia.
When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.
11 Irail lao pedelon on nan im o, re ap majanier jeri pwelel o in a Maria, re ap kaipokedi o poni i, o kapwaredar arail kapwa kan, ap maironki on i kold, o men pomau, o mire.
And when they had come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshiped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented to him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.
12 Kot ap kotin panoki on irail ni arail auramen, en der purelan Erodej, re ap weidwei ni apot al purelan jap arail.
And being warned by God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way.
13 Irail lao jamalar, kilan tounlan en Kaun amen ap pwara don ren lojep ni a aliman majani: Paurida, ale jeri pwelel en o in a tanwei lan Akipten o kaukaujon waja o, I lao kaire kin uk, pwe Erodej pan rapaki jeri pwelel o pwen kamatala.
And when they had departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.
14 I ari kipada, aleer jeri pwelel o in a ni pon, kotilan Akipten;
When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt:
15 O kaukaujon ia, lao en Erodej a matala, pwen pwaida, me lokido jan Kaun o, ren jaukop o me majani: Jan nan Akipten me I ekeredo nai ol o. i
And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken from the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son.
16 Erodej lao manier, me a jarokidier ol lolekon kan, ap onion kidar kaualap o poronelan, kamela jeri ol karoj, me mi Petleem o nan jap jalon karoj, me jaunpar riau o tikitik jan, duen anjau me a kalelapok mau ren me lolekon kan.
Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked by the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all its borders, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently inquired of the wise men.
17 I dokan a pwaidar me lokido ren jaukop Ieremia me majani:
Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet, saying,
18 Nil eu wiauier nan Rama, janejan o maiei laud; Rael janejanki na jeri kan, a kan injenemaula, pwe irail joer mia.
In Rama was there a voice heard, lamentation, and weeping, and great mourning, Rachel weeping [for] her children, and would not be comforted, because they are not.
19 A Erodej lao matalar, kilan tounlan en Kaun amen ap pwara don ren Iojep nan Akipten ni a aliman,
But when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord appeareth in a dream to Joseph in Egypt,
20 Majani: Paurida ale jeri pwelel en o in a, ko won nan jap en Ijrael, pwe irail melar, me rapaki, pwen kamela jeri pwelel o.
Saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and go into the land of Israel: for they are dead who sought the young child's life.
21 I ari kipadar, ale jeri pwelel o in a, pure don jap en Ijrael.
And he arose, and took the young child and his mother, and came into the land of Israel.
22 A lao mani, me Arkelauj kaunda Iudaa wiliandi jam a Erodej, ap lan kotilan waja o. Kot ap kotin panoki on i ni a aliman, ap kotilan jap enKaliliia kai.
But when he heard that Archelaus reigned in Judea in the room of his father Herod, he was afraid to go thither: notwithstanding, being warned by God in a dream, he turned aside into the parts of Galilee:
23 O kotido kotikot nan kanim eu me adaneki Najaret, pwen pwaida, me lokido ren jaukop akan: A pan maraneki men Najaret.
And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, He shall be called a Nazarene.
