< Matäuj 13 >

1 NI ran ota Iejuj kotila jan nan im o, ap kaipokedi ponoror.
On that same day, after Jesus had left the house, he took his seat on the seashore;
2 A pokon kalaimun pokon don i, i ari kotidan pon jop pot, kaipokedi, a pokon o udar pon oror o.
and such a great crowd gathered about him that he got into a boat and sat in it, while all the crowd stood on the beach.
3 I ari karajerajeki on me toto majani: Kilan, jaunkamor o kolan kamorok.
Then he told them many truths in parables. "Behold," he said, "the sower went forth to sow;
4 Ni a kamokamorok, akai ap moredier on pon kailan al, manpir ap pirido nam ir ala.
and as he sowed, some seed fell by the roadside, and the birds came and ate it.
5 A akai moredier waja takain, waja pwel pedeped; ir ari pitipit wojadar pweki jota pwel lole.
Some fell on rocky ground where there was not much earth. Now because it had no depth of soil, it sprang up at once;
6 A katipin lao dakaradar, re motoredier o monelar, pweki jota kalau ar.
but when the sun rose it was scorched, and withered away because it had no root.
7 A akai moredier nan tuka teketek; a tuka teketek wojadar kajoka ir ala.
Some fell among thorns, and the thorns sprang up and choked it.
8 A akai moredier nan pwel mau o wadar: Akai pan me epuki, akai me woneijok, akai me jileijok.
But some fell on good soil, and bore a crop, some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.
9 Me jalon a mia, men ron, i en ron!
He who has ears, let him hear!"
10 Tounpadak kan ap pwarado potoan on i: Da me re kotin kaukawewe on irail ni karajeraj akan?
Now when his disciples came up to him, they said,
11 A kotin japen majani on irail: A muei on komail er, en aja, me rir en wein nanlan, a ap jota muei on mepukat.
"Why do you speak to them in parables?" Jesus answered. "To you it has been granted to understand the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven; but to them it has not been granted.
12 Pwe me a. mia, ekij pan ko on, pwen aneki me land; a me jota a mia, nan a pan katia jan, me mi re a.
"For whoever holds, to him shall more be given, and he shall have abundance; but whoever does not hold, from him shall be taken away even what he holds.
13 I me I padaki on irail ni karajeraj. Pwe re kilan waja, ap jota kin kilan, o ron waja, ap jota kin ron, pwe re jota kin dedeki.
"This is why I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand.
14 Nan irail kapun pan kokop en Iejaia, me majanier: Komail pan ronki jalon omail, ap jota dedeki, o kilanki maj omail, ap jota weweki.
And in them is being fulfilled that prophecy of Isaiah which says. "Hearing you will hear and not understand; Seeing you will see and not perceive;
15 Pwe monion en aramaj pukat kapitakailar, o jalon arail ponlar, o re kamair pena maj arail. Pwe kadekadeo re de kilanki maj arail, o ronki jalon arail, o lolokonki monion arail, o wukila, a I de kakel irail ada.
For the heart of his people is made fat, Their ears are dull of hearing; Their eyes, too, have they closed, Lest some day their eyes should perceive, And their ears should hear, And their heart should understand and turn, And I should heal them.
16 A maj omail meid pai, pwe re kilan waja, o jalon omail, pwe re ron waja.
"But happy are your eyes, because they see, and your ears because they hear.
17 Pwe melel I indai on komail, jaukop o me pun akan me toto, me anane en kilan, me komail kin kilekilan, ap jota kilaner, o en ron, me komail kin roneron, a re jota ronadar.
"In solemn truth I tell you that many prophets and holy men have seen it not, and to hear what you are hearing, and have not heard it.
18 Komail ari ron karajepa wet duen jaunkamorok:
"Listen then, to the parable of the sower.
19 Meamen ron majan duen wei o ap jota dedeki, me jued ap pwarado, katia jan, me kamoremoredier nan monion i, a iei i, me ale war akan pon kailan al o.
"Whenever any one hears the message of the kingdom, and does not understand it, the Evil One comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart.
20 A me kamoremoredier waja takain, iei i, me kin ronada majan o, ap pitipit peren kida ale;
"This is the seed sown by the wayside. And the word, and at once receives it with joy.
21 A jota kalau a re a, pwe a lol majaran, pwe anjau apwal o kamekam lao pwaida pweki majan o, a ap madan makar kida.
"But he has no root in himself; he continues for a time, but when trouble arises, or persecutions, on account of the word, at once he stumbles and falls.
22 A me kamoremoredi on nan tuka teketek, iei i, me kin ronada majan o, a anan en pai en jappa o widin en dipijou kan kin kajokela majan o, ap jo wa. (aiōn g165)
"And the seed sown among thorns is he who hears the word, but the anxieties of the age and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful. (aiōn g165)
23 A me kamoremoredi nan pwel mau, iei i, me kin ronada majan o, ap dedeki o wada; akai kin pan me epuki, a akai me woneijok, a akai jileijok.
"But the seed sown in good soil is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit, and makes now an hundredfold, now sixty, now thirty."
24 A kotiki on irail er pil apot karajeraj majani: Wein nanlan rajon aramaj amen, me kamoredi war mau nan japwe.
He told them another parable. "The kingdom of heaven," he said, "is like a man who sowed good seed in his field;
25 A aramaj lao mairelar, a imwintiti ap pwarado kamoredier dip nan pun en korn ap koieila.
"but while men were asleep his enemy came and sowed tares among his wheat and went away.
26 A tuka lao wojadar o wadar, dip ap pil pwaradar.
"And when the blade shot up and formed the wheat-kernel, then the tares also appeared.
27 Ladu en kaun pan im o kan ap pwara don i potoan on i: Main, kaidin war mau, me kom kotin kamoredier nan jap omui? A iaduen dip, a ko jan ia?
"The slaves of the owner went to him and said. "‘Was it not good seed, sir, that you sowed in your field? From whence then, do you get tares?’
28 A majani on irail: Aramaj mor jued amen me wiadar. Ladu kan ap potoan on i: Kom kotin mauki, jen kola matiada jan?
"‘It is an enemy who has done this,’ he answered. "The slaves said to him, ‘Do you want us to go and collect them?’
29 A majani: Iermen, pwe komail der matia jan dip ianaki korn.
"‘No,’ he answered, ‘for fear lest while you are collecting the tares, you at the same time pull up the wheat.
30 A karoj pan mimieta lao anjaun rak; ni anjaun rak i pan indan men dolun kan: Ki pena maj dip akan, pira pena ni kap akan, pwe aramaj en karonala, a korn ki pena nan ai im en nak.
"Let both grow together until harvest, and at harvest-time I will tell the reapers to first gather the tares and tie them in bundles for burning, but to bring all the wheat into my store-house.’"
31 A kotiki on irail pil apot karajeraj majani: Wein nanlan rajon wan tuka eu, me aramaj amen ale, padukedi on nan japwe,
He set forth to them another parable, saying. "The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard-seed which a man took and planted in his field.
32 Me tikitik jan war karoj, a a lao wojada, a kalaimun jan dip akan, o wiala tuka laud apot, manpir en pan lan akan ap pokon pena o mimi nan ra a kan.
"This is indeed the smallest of seeds, but when it is grown it is greater than any herb, and becomes a tree, so that the winged things of the sky come and roost in its branches."
33 A pil apot karajeraj me a kotin majani on irail: Wein nanlan raj on kalep kij, me li amen ale okila nan kajak en plaua jilu, Karoj lao mutala.
He told them another parable. He said, "The kingdom of heaven is like leaven which a woman took and hid in three measures of flour, until the whole was leavened."
34 Mepukat karoj Iejuj kotin padapadanki ni karajeraj on pokon o, o jota, me a kotin padaki on irail, ma jota ni karajeraj.
Jesus told all this to the crowd in parables; indeed he never spoke to them except in parables,
35 Pwen pwaida me lokido ren jaukop o, me majani: I pan ki pajan au ai, pwen karajeraj o pan kasanjaleda me rir akan jan ni tapin kaua.
in fulfilment of the word spoken by the prophet, I will open my mouth in parables, I will utter things kept secret since the foundation of the world."
36 A ap kotin kadar pajan pokon o, kotilon on nan tanpaj o. Japwilim a tounpadak kan ap kai don i potoan on: Re kotin kawewe on kit karajepan dip nan mutual o.
After he had sent the people away and gone into the house, his disciples came to him and said, "Explain to us the parable about the weeds in the field."
37 A kotin japen majani: Me kamoredi war mau, iei Nain aramaj.
"The sower of the seed," he answered, "is the Son of man;
38 Matuel iei jappa. War mau iei toun wei. Dip iei nain mejued.
"the field is the world; the good seed is the sons of the kingdom; the weeds, the sons of the Evil One.
39 Imwintiti, me kin kamor ir edi, iei tewil. Rak me kaimwijoke pan jappa. Jaundolun pene iei tounlan kan. (aiōn g165)
"The enemy who sows the weeds is the Devil. The harvest is the end of the age. The reapers are the angels. (aiōn g165)
40 A duen dip akan a kin uja jan ron kila kijiniai, iduen a pan wiaui ni imwin kaua. (aiōn g165)
"Just as the weeds are collected together and burnt with fire, so will it be at the end of the age. (aiōn g165)
41 Nain aramaj pan kadarala na tounlan kan, o re pan kijan nan wei men kamakar karoj, o me kin wiawia me jued.
"The son of man will send forth his angels, and they will gather out of his kingdom all hindrances, and whoever practises iniquity,
42 O re pan kajapok ir alan Ien kijiniai iei wajan mamaiei o teterok.
"and will throw them into the fiery furnace. There will be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.
43 Me pun kan ap pan linalin dueta katipin nan wein Jam arail. Me jalon a mia, men ron, i en ron!
"And then shall the just shine forth like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Let him who has ears to hear, listen!
44 Wein nanlan rajon pai eu, me rir nan matuel, me aramaj amen diaradar ap okila, o peren kida, koieila, netikilar karoj, me a naineki, ap netiadar matuel o.
"The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure buried in the ground, which a man finds but buries again, and then in his joy goes and sells all that he has and buys that land.
45 Wein nanlan pil rajon jaunet amen, me raparapaki takai kajampwal kai.
"Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of beautiful pearls.
46 A lao diaradar eu, me kajampwalia, ap koieila netikilar a dipijou karoj, netiada i.
"When he finds one of great price, he goes and sells everything he has and buys it.
47 Wein nanlan pil rajon uk apot, me kin kadudi nan jed, pwen oro pena jon karoj.
"Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net that was cast into the sea and gathered fish of every kind.
48 A lao direla, re kin apiadado pon oror, ap mondi pena, deuk on me mau akan nan dal akan, a me jued akan re kin kajela.
"When it was full they hauled it upon the beach, and sat down and sorted the good fish into baskets, but threw the worthless fish away.
49 Nan iduen a pan wiaui ni imwin kaua: Tounlan kan pan koieila, katoror jan me jued akan me pun kan. (aiōn g165)
"So will it be at the end of the age. The angels will go forth and separate the wicked from the righteous, and fling them into the furnace of fire. (aiōn g165)
50 O kajapok ir alan len kijiniai, iei wajan maiei o teterok.
"There shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.
51 Iejuj kotin majani on irail: Komail weweki mepukat karoj? Re potoan on: Ei Main.
"Have you understood all this?" he asked. "We have," they answered him.
52 A ap kotin majani on irail: I me jaunkawewe karoj, me jukujukuleki wein nanlan me rajon kaun pan im eu, me kin kapwareda jan a pai me kap o me marin.
"Then," said he, "every scribe who has been instructed in the kingdom of heaven is like a householder who brings out of his storehouse new things and old."
53 Kadekadeo Iejuj lao kaimwijokela karajeraj pukat, ap kotin koieila jan waja o.
After Jesus had finished these parables, he withdrew from that place,
54 A koti don udan japwe kawewe on irail nan ar jinakoke. Irail ari puriamui kila indada: Lolekon en ol men et o a manaman akan ko jan ia?
and came into his own country, where he continued teaching the people in their synagogues, until they were amazed. "Where did he get such wisdom?" they said, "and such wondrous powers?
55 Kaidin i nain kapenta? In a jota adaneki Maria? O ri a ol akan Iakop, o Iojep, o Jimon, o Iudaj?
"Is not this the carpenter’s son? Is not his mother called Mary? and his brothers Jamesand Joseph and Simon and Judas?
56 O ri a li akan, kaidin irail karoj mi re atail? Ari, ia waja mepukat ko jan.
"Are not his sisters all living among us? Where, then, did he get all these powers?"
57 O irail makar kin i. A Iejuj kotin majani on irail: Jota waja me jaukop jo waui ia, nan japwe ota o ren jau i ko.
This kept them from believing in him. Wherefore Jesus said, "A prophet is not without honor except in his own country and among his own family."
58 I ari jota wiadar manaman toto waja o pweki ar jopojon.
And he did no mighty works there, because of their lack of faith.
