< Iakopuj 4 >

1 IA waja akamai o pei nan pun omail kin tapi jan ia? Kaidin jan nan omail inon jued akan, me kin pepei nan omail kokon akan.
From whence [come] wars and fightings among you? [come they] not hence, [even] from your lusts that war in your members?
2 Komail kin inon ion, ap jota aneki, komail kin kamela o kailonki, ap jota me komail pan ale; komail kin akamai o mauin. A jota omail meakot, pwe komail jota omail meakot, pwe komail jota kin poeki.
Ye lust and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
3 Komail kin poeki, ap jota pwaida, pwe komail kin poeki japun, pwe komail kin poeki japun, pwe komail kin kapwaida kida omail inon jued akan.
Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume [it] upon your lusts.
4 Komail kamal akan, komail jota aja me waroki on jappa et, kin imwintiti on Kot? Ari meamen, me men kompoke pan jappa, nan i imwintiti en Kot amen.
Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
5 De komail kiki on, me puk jaraui majani mal: Nen o me kotikot lol omail, kin inon ion o nantion dodok on Kot.
Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?
6 A meid laud a mak on kitail. I me a kotin majanieki: Kot kin kotin palian me aklapalap, ap mak on me opampap.
But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace to the humble.
7 Komail ari duki on Kot a palian tewil, a ap pan tan wei jan komail.
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
8 Kakondak monion on Kot, a ap pan kupukupera komail, kamakelekel pa omail, komail me dipan; o kaminela monion omial, komail me lol riapot.
Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse [your] hands, [ye] sinners, and purify [your] hearts, [ye] double-minded.
9 Kainjinom, o maiei, o janejan; omail kaukaurur en wuki on me mauk, o omail peren on injenjued.
Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and [your] joy to heaviness.
10 Akitikitik ki pein komail mon Kaun o, a ap pan kjapwil komail da.
Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he will lift you up.
11 Ri ai ko komail de lokaia jued nan pun omail. Pwe me kin lokaia jued duen ri a, de kadeikada ri a, a kin lokaia jued on kapun o kin kadeikada kapun o, A ma koe kadeikada kapun, pwe jaunkapun amen koe.
Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of [his] brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judgest the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.
12 Amen ta jaunkapun o jaunkadeik, me kak on kamaurela o kariala. A ij koe, me kin kadeikada men im pa?
There is one lawgiver, who is able to save, and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another?
13 Iet pil eu, komail me kin inda: Ran wet de lakap je pan kolan kanim wet o kaujon waja o par eu, o netinet ap kapwapwala.
Come now, ye that say, To-day or to-morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy, and sell, and get gain:
14 A komail kin jaja, da me pan wiaui lakap, pwe da omail maur? Pwe komail kin raj on tokoi, me kin mi anjau kij, ap mokonaidi.
Whereas ye know not what [will be] on the morrow: For what [is] your life? It is even a vapor, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
15 Mak eta komail en inda: Ma Kaun o kotin kupura, o ma kitail memaureta, kitail pan wiada met de mo.
Instead of that ye [ought] to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.
16 A jo, komail kin perenki omail jujuai, nan jujuai due met me jued.
But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil.
17 Ari, melel ta, meamen me lelapok ki me mau, ap jota wia, nan i me dip on i.
Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth [it] not, to him it is sin.
