< Psalm 73 >
1 MELEL, Kot kompoke pan men Israel, irail me makelekel nan mongiong arail.
BOOK III A Psalm of Asaph. Surely God is good to Israel, even to such as are pure in heart.
2 A ngai, ekis ta, a nä i kat pan lodi, o i koren iong krisedi ni ai kakakawei.
But as for me, my feet were almost gone; my steps had well nigh slipped.
3 Pwe i suedeki me aklapalap akan, ni ai kilanger en me sapung kan ar pwaidar.
For I was envious at the arrogant, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.
4 Pwe sota apwal kot lel ong irail ni ar pan mela, re kin kelail o war arail wilar melel.
For there are no pangs at their death, and their body is sound.
5 Sota ar apwal kot dueta aramas tei kan, o re sota pan kalokolok dueta aramas tei kan.
In the trouble of man they are not; neither are they plagued like men.
6 Ari aklapalap, iei kapwat en tapin wor arail, o arail likau, iei arail tiak weit.
Therefore pride is as a chain about their neck; violence covereth them as a garment.
7 Por en mas arail tikitik o sued kilar ar wilar, o re kin wiada, me re inong iong.
Their eyes stand forth from fatness; they are gone beyond the imaginations of their heart.
8 Re kin mamaleki meakaros, o re kin lokelokaia me sued, o re kin lalaue o lokaia ni ar aklapalap.
They scoff, and in wickedness utter oppression; they speak as if there were none on high.
9 Dene arail lokaia tapi sang nanlang, o me irail indinda, dene i eta me pung nin sappa.
They have set their mouth against the heavens, and their tongue walketh through the earth.
10 I me aramas akan lokidi ong irail; o pil totoia re kin nimala.
Therefore His people return hither; and waters of fullness are drained out by them.
11 Re kin inda: Iaduen, Kot pan kotin insenoki irail? O menda ren me lapalap irail?
And they say: 'How doth God know? And is there knowledge in the Most High?'
12 Kilang, iduen me doo sang Kot akan; irail meid pai nin sappa, o re pan kapwapwala.
Behold, such are the wicked; and they that are always at ease increase riches.
13 Iaduen, likamata sota katepa ai kamakelekeladar mongiong i o kaminela pa i kat ni me pung?
Surely in vain have I cleansed my heart, and washed my hands in innocency;
14 Pwe ran karos i pan kalokolok, o ni mansang karos ai kamekam mia.
For all the day have I been plagued, and my chastisement came every morning.
15 Koren iong i pil pan indinda dueta irail, a so, pwe i de pan suedeki sapwilim omui seri kan karos sang mas kokodo lel met.
If I had said: 'I will speak thus', behold, I had been faithless to the generation of Thy children.
16 I ap madamadaua duen mepukat, pwen dedeki, a i sota kak ong.
And when I pondered how I might know this, it was wearisome in mine eyes;
17 Ngai lao pedelong ong mon mol en Kot saraui o kilanger imwin me doo sang Kot akan.
Until I entered into the sanctuary of God, and considered their end.
18 Melel kom kotin pwili kin irail edi wasa likakeris; kom kotin kapup irail edi ong nani pwel.
Surely Thou settest them in slippery places; Thou hurlest them down to utter ruin.
19 Iaduen arail madang soredier. Irail lokidokila, o imwila’rail meid kamasapwek.
How are they become a desolation in a moment! They are wholly consumed by terrors.
20 Maing Ieowa, kom kin kotin kawela mom arail nan kanim o dueta auramen.
As a dream when one awaketh, so, O Lord, when Thou arousest Thyself, Thou wilt despise their semblance.
21 Ni ai madak nan mongiong i, o waiwairok nan ai mudilik kan,
For my heart was in a ferment, and I was pricked in my reins.
22 I ap diaradar, me ngai ol pweipwei men, me sota asa meakot; dueta man amen mo omui.
But I was brutish, and ignorant; I was as a beast before Thee.
23 Ari so, i pan mimieta re omui kokolata, pwe komui kotin kolekol eta pa i pali maun.
Nevertheless I am continually with Thee; Thou holdest my right hand.
24 Komui kin kalua ia duen kupur omui, o kom pan kotin kasamo ia nan lingan omui.
Thou wilt guide me with Thy counsel, and afterward receive me with glory.
25 Ma komui ta ai Kot, i sota pan anane meakot nanlang de sappa.
Whom have I in heaven but Thee? And beside Thee I desire none upon earth.
26 Ma pali war ai o ngen i pan dupokala, pil menda, pwe komui Maing Kot kamait pa i o pwais ai kokolata.
My flesh and my heart faileth; but God is the rock of my heart and my portion for ever.
27 Pwe kom kotin mangi irail, me muei sang komui pan lokidokila; Kom pan kotin kasapokela karos, me wuki wei sang komui.
For, lo, they that go far from Thee shall perish; Thou dost destroy all them that go astray from Thee.
28 A iet ai peren, i en tengeteng ong Kot, o i en kaporoporeki Kot Ieowa, pwen kalok sili omui wiawia kan karos.
But as for me, the nearness of God is my good; I have made the Lord GOD my refuge, that I may tell of all Thy works.
