< Ioanes 11 >

1 OL amen somaudar ad a Lasarus, men Petanien, kanim en Maria o ri a li Marta.
NOW a certain man was sick, named Lazarus, of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha.
2 Iei Maria, me keieki potik Kaun o, o limwieki a pwilipeipei aluwilu a, me ri a ol Lasarus somaudar.
(It was that Mary which anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.)
3 Ri a li ko ari kadar wong i kaireki wong i: Maing, kotin mangi, me re pok ong me somaudar.
Therefore his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick.
4 Iesus lao mangi, ap kotin masani: Kaidik somau en mela eu met, a pweki lingan en Kot, pwe Nain Kot en kalingana kila.
When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby.
5 Iesus kotin kupura Marta, o ri a li, o Lasarus.
Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus.
6 A lao kotin mangier, me a somaudar, i ari kotikoteta wasa o pong ria pong.
When he had heard therefore that he was sick, he abode two days still in the same place where he was.
7 Ap kotin masani ong sapwilim a tounpadak kan: Kitail pan purelang Iudäa.
Then after that saith he to his disciples, Let us go into Judæa again.
8 Sapwilim a tounpadak kan potoan ong i: Rapi, Sus oko apton men kasuk ir, a re pan kotin purelang ia?
His disciples say unto him, Master, the Jews of late sought to stone thee; and goest thou thither again?
9 Iesus kotin masani: So auer eisokriau ni ran eu? Meamen alialu ni ran, sota pan dipikelekel, aki a ngingar marain en sappa.
Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world.
10 A meamen alialu ni pong, a pan dipikelekel, aki marain sota mi re a.
But if a man walk in the night, he stumbleth, because there is no light in him.
11 A kotin kasoiada mepukat, ap masani ong irail: Kompoke patail Lasarus mairelar, a I kokolan kapirida i.
These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.
12 A sapwilim a tounpadak kan indang i: Maing, ma a mairelar, a pan maureda.
Then said his disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well.
13 Ari, Iesus kotin masanieda duen a melar, a irail kiki ong, me a masanieda duen a mair en kamol.
Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep.
14 Iesus ap sansal masani ong irail: Lasarus melar,
Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead.
15 A I peren kida, me I sota mi wasa o pweki komail, pwe komail en posonla. Ari, kitail en koko wei re a!
And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, to the intent ye may believe; nevertheless let us go unto him.
16 Tomas, me pil ad a Didimus, ap indai ong warok tei kan: Kitail en pil kokola, pwen iang i mela.
Then said Thomas, which is called Didymus, unto his fellowdisciples, Let us also go, that we may die with him.
17 Iesus lao kotido, ap kotin diarada, me a mi nan sousou pong pa pong.
Then when Jesus came, he found that he had lain in the grave four days already.
18 Petanien me koren iong Ierusalem impan mail riau.
Now Bethany was nigh unto Jerusalem, about fifteen furlongs off:
19 A Sus oko me toto ko dong Marta o Maria, pwen kamait ira la pweki ri ara ol o.
And many of the Jews came to Martha and Mary, to comfort them concerning their brother.
20 Marta lao rongadar, me Iesus kotido, ap koieila tu ong i. A Maria momod nan im o.
Then Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met him: but Mary sat still in the house.
21 Marta ap potoan ong Iesus: Maing, ma re kotikot met, ri ai ol sota pan mela.
Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.
22 Ari so, i asa meakot re pan kotin poeki ren Kot, Kot pan kotiki ong ir.
But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee.
23 Iesus kotin masani ong i: Ri om ol pan maureda.
Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again.
24 Marta potoan ong i: I asa, me a pan maureda ni ias en ni ran nik o.
Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.
25 Iesus kotin masani ong i: Ngai kamaur o maur, me poson ia, pan memaureta pil murin a mela.
Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
26 A meamen me maur o poson ia, sota pan mela kokolata; koe kamelele mepukat? (aiōn g165)
And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? (aiōn g165)
27 A potoan ong i: Ei Maing, i poson, me ir me Kristus Sapwilim en Kot, me udan pwara dong sappa.
She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world.
28 A lao indada met, ap koieila ren Maria ri a li, monginki ong i: Saunpadak kotidor kainoma uk.
And when she had so said, she went her way, and called Mary her sister secretly, saying, The Master is come, and calleth for thee.
29 A lao rongadar, ap uda, madang wei re a,
As soon as she heard that, she arose quickly, and came unto him.
30 A Iesus saikenta lel ong kanim o, pwe a kotikoteta wasa Marta tu ong i ia.
Now Jesus was not yet come into the town, but was in that place where Martha met him.
31 Sus oko, me mi re a nan im o, pwen kamait i ala, lao kilangada, me Maria madang uda tang wei, rap idauenla i, indinda: A pan ko ong ni sousou, pwen sangesang ia.
The Jews then which were with her in the house, and comforted her, when they saw Mary, that she rose up hastily and went out, followed her, saying, She goeth unto the grave to weep there.
32 Maria lao lel wasa o, o kilang i, ap poridi ong ni aluwilu a indang i: Maing, ma re kotikot met, ri ai ol sota pan mela.
Then when Mary was come where Jesus was, and saw him, she fell down at his feet, saying unto him, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.
33 Iesus lao masani i sangesang, o Sus oko, me iang i kokodo pil sangesang, ap kupurola,
When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled,
34 Masani: Komail pwilikidi ia i? Irail potoan ong i: Maing, kotido masani.
And said, Where have ye laid him? They said unto him, Lord, come and see.
35 Iesus kotin tontonir.
Jesus wept.
36 Sus oko ap inda: Kilang duen a pok ong i!
Then said the Jews, Behold how he loved him!
37 A akai ir me indada: A so kak pan men et me kapad pasang mas en me maskun o, me ol men et ender mela?
And some of them said, Could not this man, which opened the eyes of the blind, have caused that even this man should not have died?
38 Iesus pil kupurola koti dong sousou o. A por o ulong nan kisin dol o takai eu mi poa.
Jesus therefore again groaning in himself cometh to the grave. It was a cave, and a stone lay upon it.
39 Iesus kotin masani: Katapure wei takai en! A Marta, en me melar ri a li, indada: Maing, a matalar, pwe a mi met pong pa pong.
Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days.
40 Iesus kotin masani ong i: I so indai ong uk, ma koe poson, koe pan kilangada lingan en Kot.
Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?
41 Irail ap katapure sang takai o. A Iesus kotin masanda masani: Sam, I danke komui, me komui mangi ia er.
Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.
42 A i asa, me komui kin mangi ia ansau karos, a pweki pokon o, me u sili, I indaki mepukat, pwe irail en poson, me komui, me kadar ia do.
And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me.
43 A lao kotin masani met, ap kapitie laudeta masani: Lasarus, koieido!
And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.
44 A me melar o ap pedoido, likau en sousou kidim pena na o pa kan, o mas a me pirapinki pena lim en puto. A Iesus kotin masani ong irail: Lapwada kapitila i!
And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.
45 Men Sus toto, me ko dong Maria, o kilanger, me Iesus kotin wiadar, posonla i.
Then many of the Jews which came to Mary, and had seen the things which Jesus did, believed on him.
46 A akai ir kowei ren Parisär oko, kaire kin irail me Iesus kotin wiadar.
But some of them went their ways to the Pharisees, and told them what things Jesus had done.
47 Samero lapalap o Parisär akan ap pokon pena kapung indada: Da me kitail en wiada? Pwe aramas men et kin wia kilel toto.
Then gathered the chief priests and the Pharisees a council, and said, What do we? for this man doeth many miracles.
48 Ma kitail sota pan mokidi ong i, karos pan posonla i, o men Rom pan kodo, ki sang kitail wei o atail kainok.
If we let him thus alone, all men will believe on him: and the Romans shall come and take away both our place and nation.
49 A amen irail ad a Kaipas, me samoro lapalap ni par o, indang irail: Komail meid so lolekong.
And one of them, named Caiaphas, being the high priest that same year, said unto them, Ye know nothing at all,
50 O sota lamelame, me a mau ong komail, aramas ta men en kam kila aramas akan, pwe kainok pokon ender lokidokila.
Nor consider that it is expedient for us, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not.
51 A kaidik sang pein i, me a katitiki met, a i me samero lapalap ni par o, i ari kopada, me Iesus pan kamataki kainok o.
And this spake he not of himself: but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for that nation;
52 A kaidik kainok eta, pwe a pil pan kapokon pena seri en Kot akan, me muei pasang nin sap akan.
And not for that nation only, but that also he should gather together in one the children of God that were scattered abroad.
53 Sang ni ran o irail raparapaki en kamatala i.
Then from that day forth they took counsel together for to put him to death.
54 Iesus ap solar kotikot sili sansal ren Sus oko, pwe a kotilang eu sap impan sap tan ni kanim eu ad a Epren, o kotikot ia iang sapwilim a tounpadak kan.
Jesus therefore walked no more openly among the Jews; but went thence unto a country near to the wilderness, into a city called Ephraim, and there continued with his disciples.
55 A pasa en Sus oko me korendor, o me toto koeie sang nan sap karos, kodalang Ierusalem mon pasa, pwen kamaui pein irail.
And the Jews’ passover was nigh at hand: and many went out of the country up to Jerusalem before the passover, to purify themselves.
56 Irail ari raparapaki Iesus idedok nan pung arail, ni ar pokopokon nan im en kaudok: Da me komail lamelame, a sota pan ko dong kamadip o?
Then sought they for Jesus, and spake among themselves, as they stood in the temple, What think ye, that he will not come to the feast?
57 A samero lapalap o Parisär akan wiadar kusoned eu, meamen me asa wasa a kot ia, i en kasaleda, pwe ren saikidi i.
Now both the chief priests and the Pharisees had given a commandment, that, if any man knew where he were, he should shew it, that they might take him.
