< Men Korint I 10 >

1 PWE ri ai kan, i men, komail en asa duen sam atail akan, me mi pan palin dapok eu o kotela madau o.
For I would not have you ignorant, brothers, how our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea,
2 Irail karos ap paptais ong Moses ni palin dapok o ni madau o.
and all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea.
3 O karos tungoler sak ngenin,
They all ate of the same spiritual bread,
4 O karos nim sang pil ngenin; pwe irail nim sang paip ngenin, me kotikot re’rail, iei paip o Kristus.
and all drank from the same spiritual stream, for they were drinking from a spiritual rock that followed them, and that Rock was Christ.
5 A me toto re’rail, me Kot sota kak kupuramauki, pwe irail lokidokilar nan sap tan.
But in most of them God was not well pleased, for they were laid low in the desert.
6 A mepukat wiauier, pwe kitail de kaalemongi, pwe kitail ender inong iong me sued akan duen irail inong iong.
Now this happened as a warning for us, that we might not long for evil things as they longed.
7 Komail pil ender kati ani mal due irail, duen a intingidier: Aramas pukat mondi penang nam o nim ap uda madomadong.
And you must not be idolaters like some of them. as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, And they rose up for idol dances.
8 Kitail pil der wia nenek, duen me akai irail wiadar, ap rianen silekid mekilar ni ran ta ieu.
Nor must we act licentiously, as some of them did, and fell in a single day, twenty-three thousand of them.
9 Kitail pil der kasongesong Kristus, duen akai irail kasongesong i, ap mekilar serpent kai.
Neither must we presume upon the patience of our Lord, as some of them presumed, and were destroyed by the serpents;
10 Komail pil der lipaned, duen akai ir lipanededar, ap kame kilar men kamekam men.
nor murmur, as some of them did, and were destroyed by the Destroying Angel.
11 Mepukat karos wiaui ong irail men kaalemongi; ap intingidier, pwe men panaui kin kitail, pwe kitail leler imwin kaua. (aiōn g165)
Now these things were happening to them typically, but were written down for our admonition who stand at the meeting of the ages. (aiōn g165)
12 Ari ma amen lamelame, me a kasinenda, en kalaka pein i, pwe a de pupedi.
So then let him who imagines that he is standing so securely beware lest he fall.
13 Sota songesong eu lel ong komail, i eta, me aramas itar ong, pwe Kot me melel, me sota kin mueid ong komail songesong eu, me komail sota itar ong. A ni songesong a pan kotin kaimwisokela, duen me pan kak pa omail
No temptation has overtaken you that is beyond man’s power; but God is faithful, who will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear, but will, with every temptation, provide the way of escape also, so that you may be able to withstand.
14 Ari kompoke pai kan, komail tange sang kati ani mal!
So then, my beloved, continually flee from idolatry.
15 Mepukat i indai ong komail, pwe komail me lolekong; a pein komail kasauiada, me i inda.
I am speaking to men of sense; do you yourselves judge what I say.
16 Dal en pai me kit kin kapaiada, kaidin i dal en atail saupena ren ntan Kristus? O prot me kit kin pilitiki pasang, kaidin i atail saupena en war en Kristus?
The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not a common participation in the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not a common participation in the body of Christ?
17 Pwe kitail me toto me lopon ta ieu, o war ta ieu, pwe kitail karos tungole sang lopon ta ieu.
Because we who are many are one bread, one body, for we all do share in the one loaf.
18 Komail kilang Israel pali uduk. Irail me kin kang sang mairong, kaidin irail pil minimini ong pei saraui?
Look at Israel according to the flesh; are not those who eat the sacrifices in communion with the altar?
19 A da me i en inda? I en inda me mairong ong ani mal meakot? De dikedik en ani mal meakot?
What then shall we say? that an offering to an idol is anything? or that an idol is really anything?
20 A karos me men liki kan mairongki, re kin mairongki ong tewil akan a kaidin ong Kot. A i sota mauki, komail en minimin ong tewil akan.
On the contrary, what the heathen sacrifice they sacrifice to demons and not to God, and I do not want you to have communion with demons.
21 Komail sota kak nima sang dal en Kaun o pil sang dal en tewil akan; komail sota kak iang tepel en Kaun o pil tepel en tewil akan.
You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and also the cup of demons; you cannot be partakers in the Lord’s table and in the table of demons.
22 De kitail en palian Kaun o? Kitail me kelail sang i?
What! would we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than he?
23 A muei onger meakaros, a kaidin karos me kin kamaula; a muei onger meakaros, a kaidin karos me kin kapungla.
"All things are lawful," you say? But not all things are expedient; "all things are lawful"; but not all build up.
24 Sota amen me pan apwali pein a dipisou, a en amen.
Let not each one be always seeking his own, but rather his neighbor’s good.
25 Karos me kin netila nan wasan netikila uduk, komail kang, ap der kalelapok duen song ar, pwe komail der katoutouki insen omail.
Eat anything that is for sale in the markets, asking no questions for conscience sake;
26 Pwe sapwilim en Kaun sappa o audepa kan.
for the earth and its fulness are the Lord’s.
27 A ma amen, me soposon pan luke komail, en toun kapara kamadip, o ma komail men iang, ari, karos me pan nek ong komail, komail en kang, ap der kalelapok duen song a, pwe komail der katoutouki insen omail.
If one who is not a believer invites you to his house, and you wish to go, eat everything that is set before you, without asking questions for conscience sake.
28 A ma amen pan indang komail: Met kisan mairong en ani mal, komail der kang pweki i, me kasaledar, pwe komail der kawela insen arail.
But if any one tells you, "This food has been offered in sacrifice," do not eat it, for the sake of him who told you,
29 A met i solar inda duen pein insen om a duen insen en amen. Pwe menda insen en amen pan kasauiada ai saladokelar?
and for your conscience sake - his conscience, not your own. "But," you may object, "why should my freedom be decided upon another’s scruples of conscience?
30 Pwe ma i iang kang ki danke, menda i en kalok sued, pwe i tungole ni ai danke?
If I eat after giving thanks, why am I denounced for eating that for which I have given thanks?"
31 Ari, ma komail kang de nim de wia meakot, komail en wia meakaros, pwen wauneki Kot.
Because whether you are eating or whether you are drinking, you are to do it all for the glory of God.
32 Komail der kadipikelekel men Sus, de men Krik, de momodisou en Kot,
Do not be a cause of stumbling either to Jews of to Gentiles, or to the church of God.
33 Duen i kin pok ong amen amen ni ai wiawia kan karos, o so moneki me pein ai, pwen sauasa me toto, pwe irail en dorela.
For so I also try to please all men in every way, not by seeking my own good, but the good of the many, that they may be saved.
