< Luka 23 >
1 Shikundi shoseri wagolokiti, wamjega Yesu kulongolu kwa Pilatu,
And the assembly broke up, and conducted Jesus to Pilate:
2 Wanja kumsitaki, pawalonga, “Tumwoniti muntu ayu kankuwasongiziya wantu wetu, na kuwaberiziya wantu kumupanana kodi Kaisari, pakawagambira Kristu mweni ndo, mfalumi.”
and they accused him, saying, We found this man perverting the nation, and forbidding to give tribute to Cesar, calling himself Messiah the King.
3 Pilatu kamkosiyiti yomberi, “Hashi, gwenga ndo Mfalme gwa wayawudi?” Yesu kamuwankula, “Gwenga gulonga.”
Then Pilate, asking him, said, You are the King of the Jews? He answered, You say right.
4 Pilatu kawagambira watambika wakulu wa numba ya Mlungu na lipinga lya wantu, “Mona likosa ndiri lyoseri kwa muntu ayu.”
Pilate said to the chief priests and the multitude, I find nothing criminal in this man.
5 Kumbiti womberi wanjiti kulonga kankuwazongiziya, “Kwa mafundu gakuwi kanjiti kutenda ndewu pakati pa wantu woseri mu Yudeya. Kanjiti mu Galilaya na vinu kiza panu.”
But they became more vehement, adding, He raised sedition among the people, by the doctrine which he spread through all Judea, from Galilee, where he began, to this place.
6 Pilatu pakapakiniriti aga, kakosiya, “Hashi, muntu ayu ka mwenikaya gwa Galilaya?”
When Pilate heard them mention Galilee, he asked, whether the man were a Galilean.
7 Pakavimaniti handa Yesu kalawiti lushi lwalukolitwimlima na Herodi, su kamjegiti kwa Herodi, ndo mweni yakaweriti mu Yerusalemu shipindi shilii.
And finding that he belonged to Herod's jurisdiction, he sent him to Herod, who was also then at Jerusalem.
8 Herodi kanemeleriti nentu pakamwoniti Yesu, toziya kapikaniriti kala visoweru vyakuwi, su kaweriti kankuhepera kumwona yomberi kwa shipindi shivuwa. Kaweriti kankutumbira kawoni Yesu pakatenda mauzauza.
And Herod was very glad to see Jesus: it was what he had long desired; having heard much of him, and hoping to see him perform some miracle.
9 Su Herodi kamkosiyiti Yesu makosiwu gavuwa, kumbiti Yesu kamwankula ndiri.
He, therefore, asked him many questions, but Jesus returned him no answer.
10 Mtambika mkulu gwa numba ya Mlungu na wafunda wa Malagaliru walawiriti pawulongoru, walaviyiti masitaka gawu kwa makakala nentu.
Yet the chief priests and the scribes, who were present, accused him with eagerness.
11 Herodi pamuhera na wanjagila wakuwi, wamwayibishiti Yesu na kumtendera lidufiya, shakapanu wamvalisiya nguwu ya shifalumi, na wamuwuziya kwa Pilatu.
But Herod and his military train despised him: and having, in derision, arrayed him in a splendid robe, remanded him to Pilate.
12 Kwanjira lishaka lilii, Herodi na Pilatu wawera maganja, pamberi pa shipindi shilii waweriti wangondu.
On that day, Pilate and Herod became friends; for, before, they had been at enmity.
13 Su Pilatu kawashemiti pamuhera, watambika wakulu wa numba ya Mlungu, na walongoziya na wantu
Pilate, having convened the chief priests, the magistrates and the people,
14 kawagambira, “Mumjega muntu ayu kwaneni pamlonga kaweriti kawasongiziya wantu wawulemi ufalumi wa Rumi. Vinu mpikiniri! Pandoliti kala weri shitwatila ashi pawulongolu penu, mona ndiri likosa lyoseri kwa masitaka genu kwakuwi.
said to them, You have brought this man before me, as one who excites the people to revolt; yet, having examined him in your presence, I have not found him guilt of any of those crimes of which you accuse him.
15 Wala Herodi kawoniti ndiri likosa, su kamuwuziyiti kwa twenga. Kwahera likosa lya kumtenda muntu ayu kahowi.
Neither has Herod; for I referred you to him. Be assured, then, that he has done nothing to deserve death.
16 Su hanuwalongeri wamsyatangi viboku, hanumleki kagendi zakuwi.”
I will therefore chastise him, and release him.
17 Kila Mumsambu gwa Pasaka Pilatu kamlekiziyaga mtatilwa yumu pakati pawu.
For it was necessary that he should release one to them at the festival.
18 Lipinga lyoseri wabotanga pawalonga, “Gumlagi ayu! Gutuvuguliri Baraba!”
Then all cried out together, Away with this man, and release to us Barabbas.
19 Baraba wamtuliti mushibetubetu toziya ya kutenda ngondu mlushi lulii, viraa kalagiti wantu.
Now Barabbas had been imprisoned for raising sedition in the city, and for murder.
20 Pilatu kafiriti kumlekeziya Yesu, su katakula kayi nawomberi.
Pilate, willing to release Jesus, again, expostulated.
21 Kumbiti womberi watenditi umatu, “Gumkong'onderi misumali mulupingika! Gumkong'onderi misumali mulupingika!”
But they cried, saying, Crucify! crucify him!
22 Pilatu kawagambira mala ya tatu, “Ashi katenda shidoda gaa? Mona ndiri likosa kwakuwi limtendi yomberi wamlagi, su hanumsyatangi viboku, su hanumlekeziyi.”
A third time he repeated, Why? What evil has this man done? I do not find him guilty of any capital crime; I will therefore chastise him, and release him.
23 Kumbiti womberi wakazaniti kutenda umatu kwa kubotanga kuwera Yesu mpaka kakong'onderwi misumali mulupingika, na upeleru wawu wa kutenda umatu ukanga.
But they persisted, demanding, with much clamor, that he might be crucified. At last, their clamors, and those of the chief priests, prevailed:
24 Su Pilatu kaamuwiti ntambu yawafira womberi gatendeki.
and Pilate pronounced sentence, that it should be as they desired.
25 Kamvugulira kulawa mushibetubetu muntu ulii yawamfiriti, ndomweni yawamtuliti mushibetubetu toziya ya ngondu yakuwi na kulaga wantu, su kamlaviyiti Yesu kwa womberi wamtenderi ntambu yawafira.
Accordingly, he released a man who had been imprisoned for sedition and murder; whom they required; and gave up Jesus to their will.
26 Pawaweriti wankumjega, waliwoniti na muntu yumu yawamshema Simoni gwa Kureni, kaweriti kankulawa muisi na kwingira mlushi. Su wambata, wamtwika lupingika lulii kalutoli kumbeli kwa Yesu.
As they led him away, they laid hold of one Simon, a Cyrenian, coming from the country, and laid the cross on him, that he might bear it after Jesus.
27 Lipinga likulu lya wantu limfatiti, mngati mwawu waweriti wadala wankudaya na kumlilira.
And a great multitude followed him, amongst whom were many women, who lamented and bewailed him.
28 Yesu kawagalambukira, kuwagambira, “Mwenga washina mawu wa Yerusalemu! Namundilira neni, kumbiti mlililiri maweni na wana wenu.
But Jesus, turning to them, said, Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but weep for yourselves, and for your children:
29 Toziya mashaka gankwiza, wantu hawalongi, ‘Mbaka kwa walii wagumba, yawaleriti ndiri ama kunonisiya wana!’
for the days are coming, in which they shall say, Happy the barren, the wombs which never bare, and the breasts which never gave suck!
30 Hashiweri shipindi wantu pawayigambira migongu, ‘Gutuguwiri!’ Na kuvigambira vigongu, ‘Gutugubiki!’
Then they shall cry to the mountains, Fall on us; and to the hills, Cover us:
31 Kwa mana, handa wantu wankugutendera mtera gwankali kuyuma ntambu hayi, hayiweri hashi kwa mtera guyuma?”
for if it fare thus with the green tree, how shall it fare with the dry?
32 Wawatoliti viraa wantu wamonga wawili, wadoda wawalagi pamuhera na Yesu.
And two malefactors were also led with him to execution.
33 Pawasokiti kala pahala pawapashema, “Shipalakasa sha mtuhi,” Yesu ndo wamkong'onderiti misumali mulupingika pamuhera na walii wadoda wawili, yumu uwega wakuwi wa kumliwu na yumu uwega gwakuwi gwa kumshigi.
When they came to the place called Calvary, they there nailed him to a cross, and the malefactors also; one at his right hand, the other at his left.
34 Yesu kalonga, “Tati guwalekeziyi toziya wavimana ndiri vyawatenda.” Shakapanu wagawana nguwu zyakuwi kwa kugalambula simbi.
And Jesus said, Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do. And they parted his garments by lot.
35 Wantu wawagolokiti palii pawamlola. Na walongoziya wamtendera lidufiya pawalonga, “Kawalopoziya wamonga, vinu kalilopoziyi mweni, handa mweni ndo Kristu, msyagula gwa Mlungu!”
While the people stood gazing, even their rulers joined them in ridiculing him, and saying, This man saved others; let him save himself, if he be the Messiah, the elect of God.
36 Wanjagira wamtenderiti vira lidufiya, wamgenderiti wamupa icheshema
The soldiers likewise mocked him, coming and offering him vinegar,
37 pawalonga, “Handa nakaka gwenga ndo Mfalumi gwa Wayawudi, gulilopoziyi gumweni.”
and saying, If you be the King of the Jews, save yourself.
38 Vira vilii malembu aga wagatula kumpindi kwakuwi, “Ayu ndo Mfalumi gwa Wayawudi.”
There was also an inscription over his head in Greek, Latin, and Hebrew, THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
39 Yumu gwa walii wadoda yawakong'onderitwi misumali palupinjika, kamwigilanga Yesu pakalonga, “Hashi, yanakaka ndiri gwenga ndo Kristu? Su gulilopoziyi gumweni, gutulopoziyi na twenga vira.”
Now, one of the malefactors who suffered with him, reviled him, saying, If you be the Messiah, save yourself and us.
40 Kumbiti mdoda gwingi ulii kamkalipira muyaguwi pakalonga, “Gwenga gumtira ndiri Mlungu ata padidini? Gwenga gupata azabu iraa ayi.
The other, rebuking him, answered, Have you no fear of God, you who are undergoing the same punishment?
41 Gwenga na neni tustahili, mana aga ndo malipu ya galii gatutenditi. Kumbiti muntu ayu katenda ndiri shidoda shoseri.”
And we, indeed, justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man has done nothing amiss.
42 Shakapanu kalonga, “Gwenga Yesu! Gunholi shipindi pagwingira muufalumi waku.”
And he said to Jesus, Remember me, Lord, when thou comest to thy kingdom.
43 Yesu kamwankula, Nukugambira nakaka, lelu haguweri pamuhera na neni muparadisu.
Jesus answered, Indeed, I say to you, To-day you shall be with me in paradise.
44 Iweriti yapata saa sita paliwala, mshenji guleka kuwala, luwindu lugubikiti muisi yoseri mpaka saa tisa,
And, about the sixth hour, there was darkness over all the land, which lasted till the ninth.
45 lipaziya lya numba nkulu ya Mlungu lipantika vipandi viwili.
The sun was darkened, and the vail of the temple was rent in the midst.
46 Yesu kalila kwa liziwu likulu, Tati, mumawoku gaku nuyitula rohu yangu. Pakalongiti hangu kahowa.
And Jesus said with a loud voice, Father, into thy hands I commit my spirit; and having thus said, he expired.
47 Paliya, mkulu gwa wanjagila pakawoniti kala galii gatendikiti kamkwisa Mlungu pakalonga, “Nakaka ayu kaweriti muntu muheri.”
Then, the centurion, observing what had happened, gave glory to God; saying, Assuredly, this was a righteous man.
48 Wantu woseri walii waweriti wajojinika toziya ya shitwatila ashi, pawawoniti galiya gatendikiti, wawuyiti ukaya kwawu pawahinginitiki.
Nay, all the people who were present at this spectacle, and saw what had passed, returned, beating their breasts.
49 Waganja wakuwi pamuhera na wadala walii wamfatiti kulawa Galilaya, wagolokiti kwa kutali kulola shitwatila shiliya.
And all his acquaintance, and the women who had followed him from Galilee, standing at a distance, beheld these things.
50 Kuweriti na muntu yumu litawu lyakuwi Yosefu, mwenikaya gwa shijiji shimu sha Wayawudi shawashishema Arimatayu. Kaweriti muntu muheri yakapananwa ligoya.
Now, there was a senator, named Joseph, a good and just man,
51 Kaweriti muntu yakashemitwi Yosefu kulawa Arimatayu mlushi lwa Yudeya.
from Arimathea, a city of Judea, who had not concurred in the resolutions and proceedings of the rest; and who himself, also expected the Reign of God.
52 Yomberi kagenditi kwa Pilatu, kaluwa kamupi nshimba ya Yesu.
This man went to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus.
53 Su kasulusiya nshimba ilii kulawa mulupingika, kayizyengititi sanda ya shitani, kayitula mulipumba lyaliweriti walisongola mulitalawu, lyeni alyenitenderwi.
And having taken it down, he wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a tomb cut in stone, in which no man had ever been deposited.
54 Lishaka lilii liweriti Ijumaa, na matandiru ga lishaka lya kwoyera liweriti lyankuyanja.
Now that day was the preparation, and the Sabbath approached.
55 Wadala walii waweriti wafatana na Yesu kulawa Galilaya wamfatiti Yosefu, waliwona lipumba lilii ntambu yawatula nshimba yakuwi.
And the women, who had accompanied Jesus from Galilee, followed Joseph, and observed the tomb, and how the body was laid.
56 Shakapanu wawuyiti ukaya, watanditi uturi na malashi ga kuswaga nshimba ya Yesu. Lishaka lya kwoyera woyeriti gambira malagaliru gaamuwiti.
When they returned, they provided spices and ointments, and then rested the Sabbath, according to the commandment.
