Luka 1
1 Mtuwa Teufili. Wantu wavua wajeriti kulemba vitwatira vyavitendikiti pakati pa twenga.
Forasmuch as many have undertaken to compose a narrative of those things, which have been accomplished amongst us,
2 Walembiti ntambu yawatugambiriti vilii vyawaviwoniti kwa masu gawu kwanjira pavyanjiti, na walii yawabweriti Shisoweru Shiwagira.
as they, who were from the beginning, eye-witnesses, and afterwards ministers of the word, delivered them to us;
3 Su mkulu Teufili, toziya nuvigendiriti weri vitwatira vyoseri avi kwanjira pavyanjiti, mona ifaa na neni nukulemberi weri ntambu yayirawiriti.
I have also determined, having exactly traced everything from the first, to write a particular account for you, most excellent Theophilus;
4 Ntenda hangu, su na gwenga gupati kuvimana nakaka toziya ya vitwatira avi vyanukufunditi.
that you might know the certainty of those matters wherein you have been instructed.
5 Shipindi sha Herodi mfalumi gwa Yudeya, kuweriti na mkulu gwa numba ya Mlungu litawu lyakuwi wamshema Zakariya, yakaweriti gwa shipinga sha watambika sha Abiya. Mdala gwakuwi litawu lyakuwi wamshema Elizabeti nayomberi kaweriti gwa shiyiwuku sha mtambika Aruni.
In the days of Herod, king of Judea, there was a priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abijah; and his wife, named Elizabeth, was of the daughters of Aaron.
6 Na woseri wawili waweriti wantu wa matendu gaherepa kulongolu kwa Mlungu, walikala pawagajimira malagaliru goseri ga Mtuwa.
They were both righteous before God, blameless observers of all the Lord's commandments and ordinances.
7 Kumbiti weriti wahera nonu, toziya Elizabeti kaweriti mpendi, vinu woseri wawili waweriti wagogolu.
And they had no child, because Elizabeth was barren, and they were advanced in years.
8 Lishaka limu Zakariya kaweriti kankutenda lihengu lyakuwi lya utambika Mnumba nkulu ya Mlungu, toziya shiweriti shipindi shakuwi sha kutambika.
Now when he came to officiate as priest in the order of his course,
9 Kulawirana na vitiba vya watambika, Zakariya kasyagulitwi kwa kugalambuziya simbi kwingira Mnumba nkulu ya Mlungu su katumiziyi ubani.
it fell to him by lot, according to the custom of the priesthood, to offer incense in the sanctuary.
10 Shipindi Zakariya pakaweriti kankutumiziya ubani, lipinga lya wantu waweriti walivaga pamuhera kunja wankumluwa Mlungu.
And while the incense was burning, the whole congregation were praying without.
11 Ntumintumi gwa kumpindi gwa Mtuwa kamlawiriti Zakariya, kagolokiti uwega wa kumliwu pashitalawanda sha kutambikira ubani.
Then there appeared to him an angel of the Lord, standing on the right side of the altar of incense.
12 Zakariya pakamwoniti, kalilimuka, kaweriti na lyoga.
And Zacharias was discomposed at the sight, and in great terror.
13 Kumbiti ntumintumi gwa kumpindi kamgambiriti, “Nagutira Zakariya! Mlungu kapikanira kala kuluwa kwaku. Mdala gwaku Elizabeti hakakuleleri mwana mpalu. Na mwana ayu litawu lyakuwi gumshemi Yohani.
But the angel said to him, Fear not, Zacharias; for your prayer is heard, and Elizabeth your wife shall bear you a son, whom you shall name John.
14 Yomberi hakaweri nemeru na nemeleru kwaku, wantu wavuwa hawaweri na nemeleru kwa kwiwuka kwakuwi.
He shall be to you matter of joy and transport; and many shall rejoice because of his birth.
15 Yomberi hakaweri mkulu pamasu pa Mtuwa, hakalandi ndiri divayi ama ujimbi, yomberi hakamemi Rohu Mnanagala kwanjira mumtima mwa mawu gwakuwi.
For he shall be great before the Lord; he shall not drink wine nor any fermented liquor; but he shall be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother's womb.
16 Hakawatendi wantu wavuwa wa Israeli wamuwuyiri Mtuwa Mlungu gwawu.
And many of the sons of Israel he shall bring back to the Lord their God.
17 Yomberi hakamlongoleri Mtuwa, hakaweri na makakala pamuhera na uwezu ntambu yakaweriti Eliya mbuyi gwa Mlungu. Hakawajegi kayi pamuhera wana na watati, hakawawuziyi wantu yawamjimira ndiri Mlungu kuwera na maholu ga wantu yawamfiriziya Mlungu na kumtandira Mtuwa wantu yawasyagulitwi.”
Moreover, he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elijah, to reconcile fathers to their children, and by the wisdom of the righteous, to render the disobedient a people well disposed for the Lord.
18 Zakariya kamkosiya ntumintumi gwa kumpindi, “Hanuvimani hashi shisoweru ashi? Toziya neni pamuhera na mdala gwangu twawagogolu.”
And Zacharias said to the angel, How shall I know this: for I am old man, and my wife is advanced in years?
19 Ntumintumi gwa kumpindi kamwankula, “Neni Gaburieli yangoloka kulongolu kwa Mlungu, ndo kantuma ntakuli na gwenga na kukugambira shisoweru ashi shiwagira.
The angel answering, said to him, I am Gabriel, who attend in the presence of God, and am sent to tell you this joyful news.
20 Vinu guloli! Toziya gujimira ndiri shisoweru shangu, ashi hashitendeki kwa shipindi shakuwi, vinu haguweri bubu, haguwezi ndiri kutakula mpaka lishaka lilii pashilawira shisoweru ashi.”
But know that you shall be dumb, and shall not recover your speech, till the day when these things happen, because you have not believed my words, which shall be fulfilled in due time.
21 Lipinga lya wantu liweriti lyankumuhepera Zakariya na walikangasha kwa kukawa kwakuwi mulii Mnumba nkulu ya Mlungu.
Meanwhile the people waited for Zacharias, and wondered that he staid so long in the sanctuary.
22 Pakalawiti kasinditi kutakula nawomberi, nayomberi kendereyiti kuwalanguziya kwa mawoku hera, nawomberi wavimaniti kuwera kawoniti shintu Mnumba nkulu ya Mlungu.
But when he came out, he could not speak to them; and they perceived that he had seen a vision in the sanctuary; for he made them understand by signs, and remained speechless.
23 Pashiperiti kala shipindi shakuwi sha kutenda lihengu Mnumba nkulu ya Mlungu, kagenditi ukaya kwakuwi.
And when his days of officiating were expired, he returned home.
24 Pa mashaka galii mdala gwakuwi Elizabeti kawera na yinda, kalikaliti mnumba kwa myezi muhanu,
Soon after, Elizabeth his wife conceived, and lived in retirement five months, and said,
25 kalitakuliti, “Vinu Mtuwa kamonera lusungu kwa kumusilira soni zyangu kulongolu kwa wantu.”
The Lord has done this for me, purposing now to deliver me from the reproach I lay under among men.
26 Yinda ya Elizabeti pasokiti myezi sita, Mlungu kamtumiti Gaburieli ntumintumi gwa kumpindi kagendi mpaka Galilaya, lushi lwa Nazareti.
Now, in the sixth month, God sent Gabriel his angel, to Nazareth, a city of Galilee;
27 Kaweriti na shisoweru kwa muhinga bikira yakahetitwi na muntu yawamshema Yosefu, gwa shiyiwuku sha Dawudi, litawu lyakuwi ayu bikira ndo Mariya.
to a virgin betrothed to a man called Joseph, of the house of David, and the virgin's name was Mary.
28 Ntumintumi gwa kumpindi kamwiziriti Mariya na kumulamusiya, “Gwakashina? Ponga iweri pamuhera na gwenga! Mtuwa kapamuhera na gwenga, kakupanana upendelewu.”
When the angel entered, he said to her, Hail, favorite of heaven! the Lord be with you, happiest of women!
29 Mariya kalisheliti nentu, toziya ya shisoweru sha ntumintumi gwa kumpindi, kaliholiti mumoyu pakalikosiya, “Kulamusiya aku kwana mana gaa?”
At his appearance and words, she was perplexed, and revolved in her mind what this salutation could mean.
30 Ntumintumi gwa kumpindi kamgambiriti Mariya, “Nagutira Mariya, Mlungu kakupapanana manemu.
And the angel said to her, Fear not, Mary, for you have found favor with God.
31 Guloli, haguweri na yinda na kwiwula mwana mpalu na litawu lyakuwi hagumshemi Yesu.
And behold, you shall conceive and bear a son, whom you shall name Jesus.
32 Ayu hakaweri mkulu, hawamshemi mwana gwa Mlungu na Mtuwa Mlungu hakampanani shibanta sha ufalumi sha Dawudi mbuyi gwakuwi.
He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest. And the Lord God will give him the throne of David his Father.
33 Hakakolimlima lukolu lwa Yakobu mashaka goseri na ufalumi wakuwi hapeni uweri na upeleru.” (aiōn g165)
And he shall reign over the house of Jacob forever: his reign shall never end. (aiōn g165)
34 Mariya kamgambiriti ntumintumi gwa kumpindi, “Neni haneliwoni na mpalu! Hashiweri ashi shisoweru ashi?”
Then said Mary to the angel, How shall this be, since I have no intercourse with man?
35 Ntumintumi gwa kumpindi kamuwankula, “Rohu Mnanagala hakizi kwaku na makakala ga Mlungu hagakwizili. Toziya ayi mwana hakiwukili hakaweri mnanagala, hakashemwi Mwana gwa Mlungu.
The angel answering, said to her, The Holy Spirit will descend upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore the holy progeny shall be called the Son of God.
36 Gumuholi mlongu gwaku Elizabeti, yomberi yawamshemiti mpendi kumbiti hakaleri mwana mpalu muugogolu wakuwi na mwezi agu ndo mwezi gwa sita kwa yinda yakuwi.
And lo! your cousin Elizabeth also has conceived, a son in her old age; and she who is called barren, is now in her sixth month;
37 Toziya kwahera shintu shashikamala kwa Mlungu.”
for nothing is impossible with God.
38 Mariya katakula, “Neni na ntumintumi gwa Mtuwa! Iweri kwa neni ntambu ya gulongiti.” Ntumintumi gwa kumpindi kawukiti na kugenda zakuwi.
And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord. Be it to me according to your word. Then the angel departed.
39 Mashaka galii Mariya kawukiti kagenditi mpaka isi ya mulugongu lwa Yudeya.
In those days Mary set out, and traveled expeditiously into the hill country; to a city of Judah;
40 Aku kingiriti mnumba mwa Zakariya na kamlamsiyiti Elizabeti.
where having entered the house of Zacharias, she saluted Elizabeth.
41 Elizabeti pakapikaniriti ntambu Mariya yakamlamsiyiti, nonu kadunkula mumtima mwakuwi. Elizabeti kamemiti Rohu Mnanagala,
As soon as Elizabeth heard Mary's salutation, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit,
42 Elizabeti kalonga, “Gutekelerwa gwenga pakati pa wadala woseri na katekelerwi mwana hakiwukili mumtima mwaku.
and cried with a loud voice, You are the most blessed of women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb.
43 Neni na gaa ata mawu gwa Mtuwa gwangu kanizili neni?
But how have I deserved this honor, to be visited by the mother of my Lord!
44 Nakugambira, palaa pampikaniriti ntambu yagunamusiyiti, nonu kadunkula kwa kunemelera mumtima mwangu.
for know, that as soon as the sound of your salutation reached my ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy.
45 Mbaka gwenga toziya gujimira kuwera havitendeki vitwatira vyakakugambiriti Mtuwa.”
And happy is she who believed that the things which the Lord has promised her, shall be performed.
46 Mariya kalonga, “Moyu gwangu gumkwisa Mtuwa,
Then Mary said, My soul magnifies the Lord,
47 Na rohu yangu yankunemelera, Toziya Mlungu ndo Mlopoziya gwangu.
and my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour;
48 Toziya kamonera lusungu neni ntumintumi gwakuwi. Kwanjira vinu wantu woseri hawalongi Mlungu kantekelera,
because he has not disdained the low condition of his handmaid; for henceforth, all posterity will pronounce me happy.
49 Toziya ya shintu shikulu shakantendera Mlungu. Litawu lyakuwi linanagala.
For the Almighty, whose name is venerable, has done wonders for me.
50 Kawalanguziya lusungu lwakuwi Kwa walii yawampanana ligoya kwa shiyiwuku na shiyiwuku.
His mercy on them who fear him, extends to generations of generations.
51 Katenda vitwatira vikulu kwa liwoku lyakuwi, Kawapalasiya yawawera na msindu pamuhera na mipangu ya myoyu yawu.
He displays the strength of his arm, and dispels the vain imaginations of the proud.
52 Kawasulusiya yawawera na likakala mu ukolamlima wawu, Na kawakweniziya wananagala.
He pulls down potentates from their thrones, and exalts the lowly.
53 Yawawera na njala kawayikutiziya vintu viherepa, Na walunda kawawusiya mawoku hera.
The needy he loads with benefits; but the rich he spoils of everything.
54 Katenda shakatakuliti kwa wambuyi wetu wagona, Kiza kumtanga Israeli ntumintumi gwakuwi.
He supports Israel his servant, ever inclined to mercy,
(as he promised to our fathers) toward Abraham and his race. (aiōn g165)
56 Mariya kalikaliti pamuhera na Elizabeti kwa shipindi sha myezi mitatu, shakapanu kawuyiti ukaya kwakuwi.
And Mary, after staying with Elizabeth about three months, returned home.
57 Shipindi sha Elizabeti kwiwura shisokiti, kiwuliti mwana mpalu.
When the time for Elizabeth's delivery was come, she brought forth a son;
58 Wantu wapakwegera wakuwi na walongu wakuwi pawapikaniriti visoweru viherepa vya kulikangasha Mtuwa vyakavitenditi kwa Elizabeti, womberi wanemeleriti pamuhera na yomberi.
and her neighbors and relations who heard that the Lord had shown her great kindness, rejoiced with her.
59 Palipititi lijuwa limu, womberi wiziti kumwingiziya jandu mwana, wafira kumpanana litawu lya tati gwakuwi, Zakariya.
And, on the eighth day, when they came to the circumcision of the child, they would have called him by his father's name, Zacharias.
60 Kumbiti mawu gwakuwi kalonga, “Hangu ndiri! Litawu lyakuwi hawamshemi Yohani.”
And his mother interposed, saying, No; but he shall be called John.
61 Wamgambira, “Kwehera muntu muwalongu waku yawamshema litawu ali!”
They said to her, There is none of your kindred of that name.
62 Wamlanguziyiti langaliru tati gwakuwi, wavimana ntambu hakamshemi.
They, therefore, asked his father by signs, how he would have him called.
63 Zakariya kaluwiti shibawu na kalemba hangu, “Litawu lyakuwi ndo Yohani.” Kila muntu kalikangasha.
He, having demanded a table-book, wrote upon it, His name is John, which surprised them all.
64 Pala palii Zakariya kanjiti kayi kutakula, kanjiti kumkwisa Mlungu.
And his mouth was opened directly, and his tongue loosed. And he spoke, praising God.
65 Lyoga lyayingiriti woseri yawalikaliti pakwegera nayomberi na visoweru avi vyoseri vyeniyiti muisi yoseri ya mulugongu mwa Yudeya.
Now all in the neighborhood were struck with awe; and the fame of these things spread throughout all the hill country of Judea.
66 Woseri yawapikaniriti vitwatira avi, waliholiti mumyoyu mwawu pawalonga, “Mwana ayu hakaweri gwa ntambu gaa?” Toziya nakaka makakala ga Mtuwa hagaweri pamuhera nayomberi.
And all who heard these things, pondering them in their hearts, said, What will this child hereafter be? And the hand of the Lord was with him.
67 Zakariya, tati gwa Yohani kamemiziwiti Rohu Mnanagala, katungiti shisoweru shiwagira sha Mlungu.
Then Zacharias, his father, being filled with the Holy Spirit, prophesied, saying,
68 Tumkwisi Mtuwa, Mlungu gwa Israeli! Kiza kuwatanga wantu wakuwi na kuwakombola.
Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, because he has visited and redeemed his people;
69 Katupanana mlopoziya mkulu Mushiyiwuku sha Dawudi ntumintumi gwakuwi.
and has raised a Prince for our deliverance in the house of David his servant;
(as anciently he promised by his holy prophets) (aiōn g165)
71 Hakatulopoziyi kulawa mumawoku mwa wangondu wetu na kutulaviya kulawa mumakakala mwa woseri yawatufira ndiri.
for our deliverance from our enemies, and from the hands of all who hate us;
72 Kalongiti hakawawoneri lusungu wambuyi wetu, na kulihola lipatanu lyakuwi linanagala.
in kindness to our forefathers, and remembrance of his holy institution;
73 Kulirapa kwakamlapiriti Aburahamu mbuyi gwetu,
the oath which he swore to our father Abraham,
74 kuwera hakatutangi twenga tulopoziwi kulawa kwa wangondu wetu. Katugambira tumtenderi Mlungu pota na lyoga,
to grant to us, that being rescued out of the hands of our enemies, we might serve him boldly,
75 tuweri wananagala yatumfiriziya Mlungu mashaka goseri ga makaliru getu.
in piety and uprightness all our days.
76 “Na gwenga mwana gwangu, hawakushemi mbuyi gwa Mlungu kakumpindi nentu. Toziya hagumlongoleri Mtuwa kumnyawila njira yakuwi,
And you, child, shall be called a prophet of the Most High; for you shall go before the Lord, to prepare his way,
77 haguwagambiri wantu wakuwi kuwera hawalopoziwi kwa kuwawusilira vidoda vyawu.
by giving the knowledge of salvation to his people, in the remission of their sins,
78 Mlungu gwetu mnanagala na yakawera na lusungu. Hakatulavilili gulangala gwa ulopoziya kulawa kumpindi,
through the tender compassion of our God, who has caused a light to spring from on high to visit us,
79 na kawalangazira woseri yawalikala muluwindu lwa kuhowa, na kuwalonguziya magulu getu munjira ya ponga.”
to enlighten those who abide in darkness and in the shades of death; to direct our feet into the way of peace.
80 Mwana kendereyiti kukula nshimba na kuwera na makakala murohu. Kalikaliti kushiwala mpaka lishaka lya kuliranguziya mweni kwa wantu wa Israeli.
Meantime the child grew, and acquired strength of mind, and continued in the deserts, until the time when he made himself known to Israel.
