1 Waganja wangu, namumjimira kila muntu yakalonga kuwera kalongoziwa na Rohu gwa Mlungu, kumbiti mujeri handa muntu ayu kalongoziwa na Rohu gwa Mlungu ama ndala, toziya wambuyi wavuwa wa upayira walawira pasipanu.
My beloved, believe not all spirits; but discriminate among spirits, whether they are of God: for many false prophets have gone out into the world.
2 Ayi ndo ntambu ya kuvimana handa muntu kankulongoziwa na Rohu gwa Mlungu ama ndala, kila muntu yakatakula kuwera, nakaka Yesu Kristu kiziti na kawera muntu, muntu ayu kalongoziwa na Rohu gwa Mlungu.
By this the Spirit of God is known, every spirit that confesseth that Jesus the Messiah hath come in the flesh, is of God.
3 Kumbiti muntu yoseri yakamtakula ndiri Yesu ntambu ayi, yomberi kahera Rohu yakalawa kwa Mlungu. Muntu ayu kawera na rohu ya Mngondu gwa Kristu, mwenga mpikaniriti kala kuwera kankwiza na vinu kasoka kala mupasipanu.
And every spirit which confesseth not that Jesus the Messiah hath come in the flesh, is not of God; but he is of the false Messiah, of whom ye have heard that he cometh, and now is he already in the world.
4 Kumbiti mwenga wana wangu, ndo wakuwi Mlungu na muwakanka kala wambuyi wa upayira, toziya Rohu yakawera mngati mwenu kana makakala kuliku rohu yakawera mngati mwa wantu wa pasipanu.
But ye children, are of God; and ye have overcome them, because greater is he who is in you, than he who is in the world.
5 Wambuyi wapayira walonga vitwatira vya pasipanu na wantu wa pasipanu wawapikinira toziya womberi ndo wantu wa pasipanu.
And they are of the world: therefore they speak from the world, and the world heareth them.
6 Kumbiti twenga twawantu wa Mlungu. Muntu yakamumana Mlungu, katupikinira twenga, kumbiti muntu yoseri yakamumana ndiri Mlungu, yomberi hapeni katupikiniri. Su kwa ntambu ayi tuweza kuvimana kuwera kwana Rohu gwa unakaka na rohu gwa upayira.
But we are of God; and he that knoweth God, heareth us; and he that is not of God, heareth us not. By this, we know the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.
7 Waganja wangu, tulifiri twenga kwa twenga, toziya ufiru ulawa kwa Mlungu. Kila muntu yakawera na ufiru kawera mwana gwa Mlungu na yomberi kamumana Mlungu.
My beloved, let us love one another: because love is from God; and whoever loveth, is born of God and knoweth God.
8 Muntu yoseri yakahera ufiru kamumana ndiri Mlungu, toziya Mlungu ndo ufiru.
Because God is love; and whoever loveth not, doth not know God.
9 Na Mlungu kalanguziyiti ufiru wakuwi kwa twenga kwa kumtuma Mwana gwakuwi gwa gweka pasipanu, su tuweri na ukomu kupitira yomberi.
By this was the love of God towards us made known, because God sent his only-begotten Son into the world, that we by him might live.
10 Agu ndo ufiru, twenga ndiri yatumfiriti Mlungu, kumbiti Mlungu ndo yakatufiriti twenga, su kamtumiti Mwana gwakuwi kaweri tambiku yayilaviwitwi toziya ya ulekiziwu wa vidoda vyetu.
In this is love; it was not that we loved God, but that God loved us, and sent his Son a propitiation for our sins.
11 Waganja wangu, handa Mlungu katufiriti ntambu ayi, su twenga tufiruwa kulifira twaweni kwa twaweni.
My beloved, if God hath so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
12 Kwahera muntu yakamwoniti Mlungu nakamu, kumbiti handa patulifira twaweni kwa twaweni, Mlungu kalikala mukulikolerana pamuhera na twenga na ufiru wakuwi uwera teratera mngati mwetu.
No one hath ever seen God; but if we love one another, God abideth in us, and his love is perfected in us.
13 Tuvimana kuwera twenga tulikala mukulikolerana pamuhera na Mlungu na Mlungu kalikala mukulikolerana pamuhera na twenga, toziya mweni katupanana Rohu gwakuwi.
And by this we know, that we abide in him and that he abideth in us, because he hath given of his Spirit to us.
14 Na twenga tuwona na kukapitaulira kuwera Tati kamtumiti Mwana gwakuwi su kaweri Mlopoziya gwa wantu wa pasipanu poseri.
And we have seen, and do testify, that the Father hath sent his Son, a Redeemer for the world.
15 Handa Kila muntu yakajimira kuwera Yesu ndo Mwana gwa Mlungu, Mlungu kalikala mukulikolerana pamuhera na muntu ayu, nayomberi kalikala mukulikolerana pamuhera na Mlungu.
Whoever confesseth Jesus to be the Son of God, God abideth in him, and he abideth in God.
16 Su twenga tuvimana na tujimira ufiru yakaweriti nawu Mlungu kwa twenga. Mlungu ndo ufiru na kila muntu yakalikala muufiru, kalikala mukulikolerana pamuhera na Mlungu na Mlungu kalikala mukulikolerana pamuhera na yomberi.
And we have believed and known the love, which God hath towards us: for God is love, and whoever abideth in love, abideth in God.
17 Kwa njira ayi, ufiru uwera teratera mngati mwenu su natutira mulishaka lilii lya utoza, toziya makaliru getu pasipanu galifana na galii ga Kristu.
And hereby is his love perfected with us; that we may have open countenances in the day of judgment; because as he was, so also are we in this world.
18 Muwufiru kwahera lyoga. Kumbiti ufiru yawuwera teratera uwinga lyoga lyoseri, lyoga liza toziya wantu wankutira azabu. Muntu ulii yakawera na lyoga kawera teratera ndiri muufiru.
In love there is no fear; but perfect love casteth out fear; because fear existeth in peril, and he that feareth is not perfected in love.
19 Twenga tuwera na ufiru toziya Mlungu katufiriti kwanja.
Let us, therefore, love God; because he hath first loved us.
20 Muntu pakalonga, “Numufira Mlungu,” kumbiti kankumkalalira mlongu gwakuwi, yomberi kawera mpayira. Toziya kila muntu yakamfira ndiri mlongu gwakuwi yakamwona, hapeni kamfiri Mlungu yakamwona ndiri.
And if any one shall say, I love God, and yet hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother who is visible, how can he love God who is invisible?
21 Na Kristu katupananiti lilagaliru ali, muntu yoseri yakamfira Mlungu, viraa kafiruwa kamfiri mlongu gwakuwi.
And this command we have received from him, that whoever loveth God, must love also his brother.
