< 1 Wakorintu 13 >
1 Ata neni paweza kutakula luga zya wantu na zya wantumintumi wa kumpindi, kumbiti pawera nahera mafiliru, neni wera gambira lidebi lyahera shintu ama kengeli.
Though I could speak with the tongues of men, of angels, but have not love, I become as sounding brass, or a noisy cymbal.
And though I have prophecy, and know all secrets, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
3 Pandaviya ulunda waneni woseri na kuwapanana wahushu, kayi pandaviya nshimba yaneni ilunguziwi motu, handa pawera nahera mafiliru neni hapeni mpati shintu.
And though I spend all my goods in feeding the poor, and though I deliver my body to be burned, but have not love, I am nothing profited.
4 Yakawera na mafiliru kahepeleri na utanga na yakawera na mafiliru kahera weya, hapeni kaweri na malingisi ama kalitumba.
Love suffers long, and is kind. Love envies not. Love does not vaunt; is not puffed up;
5 Yakawera na mafiliru hapeni kakosi ligoya, hapeni kasakuli mota yakuwi mweni na hapeni kaweri na maya kanongola longola na hapeni katuli mumoyu vintu vidoda vyawamtendiriti.
does not behave itself unbecomingly; does not seek its own things; is not exasperated; does not imagine evil;
6 Mafiliru hapeni gasekeleri ukondola, kumbiti gasekelera unakaka.
does not rejoice in iniquity, but greatly rejoices in the truth:
7 Muntu yakawera na mafiliru kahepeleri goseri na kajimilira goseri na kakanka goseri.
covers all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
8 Mafiliru gahera upeleru. Handa kwana mafupu ga kutunga ujumbi wa Mlungu, aga hagawuki lishaka limu, mafupu ga kutakula luga zyazimanika ndiri hagawuki, handa kwana kuvimana hakupiti.
Love never fails: but, whether prophecies, they will be out of use: or foreign languages, they shall cease: or science, it shall be abolished.
9 Toziya mafupu ga kuvimana vyoseri gamalilika ndiri na lifupu lyatwenga lya kutunga ujumbi wa Mlungu likamilika ndiri.
For we know only in part, and prophesy in part.
10 Mlungu hakavikamilishi vyoseri, shilii shashikamilika ndiri, hashiwuki.
But when perfection is come, then what is in part will be done away.
11 Paweriti namwana ntakuliti shiwana, nuvimaniti shiwana, nuliholiti shiwana. Kumbiti vinu neni namuntu mkulu, vitwatira vya shiwana nuvileka.
When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I conceived as a child, I reasoned as a child. But when I became a man, I put away childish things.
12 Shatuwona vinu shiwoneka gambira sheni shashiwoneka ndiri weri mushiloleru, kumbiti shakapanu hatuwoni sheni kwa sheni. Vinu nuvimana katepu hera, kumbiti shakapanu hanuvimani hweri goseri, gambira Mlungu ntambu yakamana neni.
For now we seek through a glass obscurely; but then, face to face: now, I know in part; but then, I shall fully know, even as I am fully known.
13 Vinu gankulikala matatu aga, njimiru na litumbiru na mafiliru, kumbiti lyaliwera likulu mugoseri ndo mafiliru.
And now abide faith, hope, love, these three: but the greatest of these is love.
