زکریا 4

1 فرشته‌ای که با من صحبت می‌کرد، مرا مثل شخصی که خوابیده باشد، بیدار کرد.

And once more the messenger who was speaking with me, roused me up, just as a man might be roused up out of his sleep.

2 سپس از من پرسید: «چه می‌بینی؟» جواب دادم: «چراغدانی از طلا می‌بینم که هفت چراغ دارد و بر سر آن روغندانی هست که به وسیلۀ هفت لوله‌ای که به آن متصل است به چراغها روغن می‌رساند.

Then said he unto me, What canst thou see? And I said—I have looked, and lo! a Lampstand—all of gold, with the Bowl thereof upon the top thereof, and its Seven Lamps upon it, Seven Pipes each, to the lamps which are upon the top thereof;

3 همچنین دو درخت زیتون می‌بینم که یکی در طرف راست و دیگری در طرف چپ چراغدان قرار دارد.»

and, Two Olive-trees, by it, —one upon the right hand of the bowl, and one upon the left hand thereof.

4 سپس از فرشته پرسیدم: «ای سرورم اینها چیستند و چه معنایی دارند؟»

Then responded I, and said unto the messenger who was speaking with me, saying, —What are these, my lord?

5 فرشته گفت: «آیا نمی‌دانی؟» گفتم: «نه، سرورم، نمی‌دانم.»

Then answered the messenger who was speaking with me, and said unto me, Knowest thou not what these, are? And I said, No my lord.

6 سپس فرشته گفت: «این است آنچه خداوند به زروبابِل می‌گوید: نه به قدرت، نه به قوت، بلکه به روح من؛ خداوند لشکرهای آسمان این را می‌گوید.

Then responded he, and spake unto me, saying, This, is the word of Yahweh, unto Zerubbabel, saying, —Not by wealth, nor by strength, but by my spirit, saith Yahweh of hosts.

7 ای زروبابِل، این کوه مشکلات در برابر تو فرو خواهد ریخت و وقتی تو آخرین سنگ بنای خانهٔ مرا گذاشتی، مردم فریاد خواهند زد: برکت خداوند بر آن باد!»

Who, art, thou, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel, [brought down] to a plain! So shall he bring forth the headstone, with thundering shouts Beautiful! Beautiful! thereunto.

8 پیام دیگری از جانب خداوند بر من نازل شده، گفت:

Then came the word of Yahweh unto me, saying:

9 «دستهای زروبابِل این خانه را بنیاد نهاد و دستهای وی آن را تمام خواهد کرد. وقتی این کار انجام شود آنگاه قوم من خواهند دانست که خداوند، خدای لشکرهای آسمان مرا نزد شما فرستاده است.

The hands of Zerubbabel, have founded this house, and, his hands, shall finish it, —So shalt thou know that, Yahweh of hosts, hath sent me unto you.

10 هر چند مردم از اینکه در کار بنای خانهٔ من پیشرفت چشمگیری حاصل نشده دلسردند، اما وقتی زروبابِل را مشغول کار ببینند، امیدوار خواهند شد.»

For who hath despised the day of small things? Yet shall they rejoice, when they see the plummet-stone in the hand of Zerubbabel, —these seven! The eyes of Yahweh, they are—running to and fro throughout all the earth.

11 سپس از فرشته پرسیدم: «آن دو درخت زیتون دو طرف چراغدان

Then responded I, and said unto him, —What are these two olive-trees, upon the right of the lampstand, and upon the left thereof?

12 و آن دو شاخهٔ زیتون کنار دو لولهٔ طلا که از آنها روغن می‌ریزد، چه هستند؟»

And I responded a second time, and said unto him, —What are the two branches of the olive- trees which join the two golden tubes, which empty out of them the golden oil?

13 گفت: «آیا نمی‌دانی؟» گفتم: «نه، سرورم، نمی‌دانم.»

And he spake unto me, saying, Knowest thou not what these are? And I said, No, my lord.

14 آنگاه او به من گفت: «آنها نشانهٔ دو مردی هستند که خداوند، مالک تمامی جهان، آنها را برگزیده و مسح کرده تا او را خدمت کنند.»

Then said he, These, are the two Anointed Ones, —who stand near the Lord of all the earth.
