زکریا 3

1 سپس خداوند در رؤیا، یهوشع، کاهن اعظم را به من نشان داد که در حضور فرشتۀ خداوند ایستاده بود. شیطان نیز آنجا در سمت راست فرشته ایستاده بود و تهمت‌های زیادی به یهوشع می‌زد.

And he shewed mee Iehoshua the hie Priest, standing before the Angel of the Lord, and Satan stoode at his right hand to resist him.

2 خداوند به شیطان گفت: «ای شیطان، خداوند تو را توبیخ کند. خداوند که اورشلیم را برای خود برگزیده است تو را توبیخ کند. یهوشع مانند چوب نیم سوخته‌ای است که از میان آتش بیرون کشیده شده باشد.»

And the Lord said vnto Satan, The Lord reprooue thee, O Satan: euen the Lord that hath chosen Ierusalem, reprooue thee. Is not this a brand taken out of the fire?

3 یهوشع با لباس کثیف در حضور فرشتهٔ خداوند ایستاده بود.

Nowe Iehoshua was clothed with filthie garments, and stoode before the Angel.

4 فرشته به کسانی که آنجا ایستاده بودند گفت: «لباس کثیف او را از تنش درآورید.» بعد رو به یهوشع کرده، گفت: «ببین، گناهان تو را برداشته‌ام و اینک این لباس نو را به تو می‌پوشانم.»

And he answered and spake vnto those that stoode before him, saying, Take away the filthie garments from him. And vnto him hee saide, Behold, I haue caused thine iniquitie to depart from thee, and I wil clothe thee with change of raiment.

5 سپس گفت: «یک دستارِ تمیز هم بر سرش بگذارید.» در حالی که فرشتهٔ خداوند ایستاده بود به او یک دستارِ تمیز هم دادند. آنگاه فرشته خطاب به یهوشع گفت

And I saide, Let them set a faire diademe vpon his head. So they set a faire diademe vpon his head, and clothed him with garments, and the Angel of the Lord stoode by.

And the Angel of the Lord testified vnto Iehoshua, saying,

7 که خداوند لشکرهای آسمان چنین می‌فرماید: «اگر از قوانین من اطاعت کنی و هر آنچه به تو می‌گویم انجام دهی، تو را سرپرست خانهٔ خود می‌سازم و به تو اجازه می‌دهم مثل این فرشته‌ها به حضور من بیایی.

Thus saith the Lord of hostes, If thou wilt walke in my wayes, and keepe my watch, thou shalt also iudge mine House, and shalt also keepe my courtes, and I will giue thee place among these that stand by.

8 ای یهوشع کاهن اعظم و ای همهٔ کاهنان، به من گوش دهید! شما نشانه‌ای هستید از آنچه در آینده واقع خواهد شد: من خدمتگزار خود را که”شاخه“نامیده می‌شود خواهم آورد.

Heare now, O Iehoshua the hie Priest, thou and thy fellowes that sit before thee: for they are monstruous persons: but behold, I wil bring forth the Branche my seruant.

9 حال به سنگی که در مقابل یِهوشَع قرار داده‌ام نگاه کن؛ سنگی با هفت سطح. خداوند لشکرهای آسمان می‌فرماید: من نقشی بر آن حَک خواهم کرد، و گناه این سرزمین را در یک روز رفع خواهم نمود.

For loe, the stone that I haue layd before Iehoshua: vpon one stone shalbe seuen eyes: beholde, I will cut out the grauing thereof, saith the Lord of hostes, and I will take away the iniquitie of this land in one day.

10 «آری، خداوند لشکرهای آسمان می‌فرماید: هنگامی که آن روز فرا رسد هر یک از شما همسایهٔ خود را دعوت خواهد کرد تا بیاید و در زیر درختان انگور و انجیرتان در صلح و صفا بنشیند.»

In that day, saith the Lord of hostes, shall ye call euery man his neighbour vnder the vine, and vnder the figge tree.
