ای کاش تو برادر من بودی که از سینۀ مادرم شیر خورده است. آنگاه هر جا تو را میدیدم میتوانستم تو را ببوسم، بدون آنکه رسوا شوم. | 1 |
Who doth make thee as a brother to me, Sucking the breasts of my mother? I find thee without, I kiss thee, Yea, they do not despise me,
دستت را میگرفتم و تو را به خانهٔ مادرم که مرا بزرگ کرده، میبردم. در آنجا شراب خوش طعم و عصارهٔ انار خود را به تو میدادم تا بنوشی. | 2 |
I lead thee, I bring thee in unto my mother's house, She doth teach me, I cause thee to drink of the perfumed wine, Of the juice of my pomegranate,
دست چپ تو زیر سر من میبود و دست راستت مرا در آغوش میکشید. | 3 |
His left hand [is] under my head, And his right doth embrace me.
ای دختران اورشلیم، شما را قسم میدهم که مزاحم عشق ما نشوید. | 4 |
I have adjured you, daughters of Jerusalem, How ye stir up, And how ye wake the love till she please!
این کیست که بر محبوب خود تکیه کرده و از صحرا میآید؟ محبوب در زیر آن درخت سیب، جایی که مادرت با درد زایمان تو را به دنیا آورد، من عشق را در دلت بیدار کردم. | 5 |
Who [is] this coming from the wilderness, Hasting herself for her beloved? Under the citron-tree I have waked thee, There did thy mother pledge thee, There she gave a pledge [that] bare thee.
عشق مرا در دل خود مهر کن و مرا چون حلقهٔ طلا بر بازویت ببند تا همیشه با تو باشم. عشق مانند مرگ قدرتمند است و شعلهاش همچون شعلههای پرقدرت آتش با بیرحمی میسوزاند و نابود میکند. (Sheol ) | 6 |
Set me as a seal on thy heart, as a seal on thine arm, For strong as death is love, Sharp as Sheol is jealousy, Its burnings [are] burnings of fire, a flame of Jah! (Sheol )
آبهای بسیار نمیتوانند شعلهٔ عشق را خاموش کنند و سیلابها قادر نیستند آن را فرو نشانند. هر که بکوشد با ثروتش عشق را بچنگ آورد، جز خفت و خواری چیزی عایدش نخواهد شد. | 7 |
Many waters are not able to quench the love, And floods do not wash it away. If one give all the wealth of his house for love, Treading down — they tread upon it.
خواهر کوچکی داریم که سینههایش هنوز بزرگ نشدهاند. اگر کسی به خواستگاری او بیاید چه خواهیم کرد؟ | 8 |
We have a little sister, and breasts she hath not, What do we do for our sister, In the day that it is told of her?
اگر او دیوار میبود بر او برجهای نقره میساختیم و اگر در میبود با روکشی از چوب سرو او را میپوشاندیم. | 9 |
If she is a wall, we build by her a palace of silver. And if she is a door, We fashion by her board-work of cedar.
من دیوارم و سینههایم برجهای آن. من دل از محبوب خود ربودهام. | 10 |
I [am] a wall, and my breasts as towers, Then I have been in his eyes as one finding peace.
سلیمان در بعل هامون تاکستانی داشت و آن را به کشاورزان اجاره داد که هر یک، هزار سکه به او بدهند. | 11 |
Solomon hath a vineyard in Baal-Hamon, He hath given the vineyard to keepers, Each bringeth for its fruit a thousand silverlings;
اما ای سلیمان، من تاکستان خود را به تو میدهم، هزار سکهٔ آن مال توست و دویست سکه مال کسانی که از آن نگهداری میکنند. | 12 |
My vineyard — my own — is before me, The thousand [is] for thee, O Solomon. And the two hundred for those keeping its fruit. O dweller in gardens!
ای محبوبهٔ من، بگذار صدایت را از باغ بشنوم، دوستانم منتظرند تا صدایت را بشنوند. | 13 |
The companions are attending to thy voice, Cause me to hear. Flee, my beloved, and be like to a roe,
نزد من بیا ای محبوب من، همچون غزال و بچه آهو بر کوههای عطرآگین، به سوی من بیا. | 14 |
Or to a young one of the harts on mountains of spices!
