مزامیر 97

1 خداوند سلطنت می‌کند، پس ای ساکنان زمین شادی کنید و ای جزیره‌های دور دست خوشحال باشید.

Jehovah reigneth: let the earth be glad, let the many isles rejoice.

2 ابرها و تاریکی، اطراف خداوند را گرفته‌اند. سلطنتش بر عدل و انصاف استوار است.

Clouds and darkness are round about him; righteousness and judgment are the foundation of his throne.

3 آتش، پیشاپیش خداوند حرکت می‌کند و دشمنان او را می‌سوزاند.

A fire goeth before him, and burneth up his adversaries round about.

4 برق‌هایش دنیا را روشن می‌سازد. زمین این را می‌بیند و می‌لرزد.

His lightnings lightened the world: the earth saw, and trembled.

5 کوهها از هیبت حضور خداوند تمام جهان، مانند موم ذوب می‌شوند.

The mountains melted like wax at the presence of Jehovah, at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.

6 آسمانها عدالت او را بیان می‌کنند و همهٔ قومها شکوه و جلال وی را می‌بینند.

The heavens declare his righteousness, and all the peoples see his glory.

7 همهٔ بت‌پرستان که به بتهای خود فخر می‌کنند، شرمسار خواهند شد. ای همهٔ خدایان، در مقابل خداوند به زانو بیفتید و او را بپرستید!

Ashamed be all they that serve graven images, that boast themselves of idols. Worship him, all ye gods.

8 ای خداوند، شهر اورشلیم و همهٔ مردم یهودا به سبب سلطنت عادلانهٔ تو خوشحال هستند.

Zion heard, and rejoiced; and the daughters of Judah were glad, because of thy judgments, O Jehovah.

9 زیرا تو ای خداوند، بر تمام دنیا متعال و از همهٔ خدایان برتر هستی.

For thou, Jehovah, art the Most High above all the earth; thou art exalted exceedingly above all gods.

10 ای دوستداران خداوند، از بدی متنفر باشید! او عزیزان خود را حفظ می‌کند و ایشان را از دست شریران می‌رهاند.

Ye that love Jehovah, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints, he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.

11 نور بر نیکان می‌تابد و شادی بر پاکدلان.

Light is sown for the righteous, and joy for the upright in heart.

12 ای عادلان، به سبب آنچه که خداوند انجام داده است شادی کنید و نام قدوس او را بستایید!

Rejoice in Jehovah, ye righteous; and give thanks in remembrance of his holiness.
