1 مزمور. سرود برای روز شبّات. چه نیکوست خداوند را سپاس گفتن و نام خدای قادر متعال را با سرود ستایش کردن!

A Psalme or song for the Sabbath day. It is a good thing to praise the Lord, and to sing vnto thy Name, O most High,

2 صبحگاهان، از خداوند به خاطر محبتش تشکر کنید و هر شب، وفاداری او را به یاد آورید.

To declare thy louing kindenesse in the morning, and thy trueth in the night,

3 او را با صدای رباب ده تار و به نوای بربط بپرستید.

Vpon an instrument of tenne strings, and vpon the viole with the song vpon the harpe.

4 ای خداوند، تو با کارهای خود، مرا شاد کرده‌ای؛ به سبب آنچه که برایم انجام داده‌ای، شادمانه می‌سرایم.

For thou, Lord, hast made mee glad by thy workes, and I wil reioyce in the workes of thine handes.

5 خداوندا، اعمال تو بسیار با عظمت و شگفت‌انگیزند. افکار تو بی‌نهایت عمیق‌اند.

O Lord, how glorious are thy workes! and thy thoughtes are very deepe.

6 شخص نادان درک نمی‌کند و آدم احمق این را نمی‌فهمد که

An vnwise man knoweth it not, and a foole doeth not vnderstand this,

7 هر چند گناهکاران مثل علف هرز می‌رویند و همهٔ بدکاران کامیاب هستند، ولی سرانجام، برای همیشه نابود خواهند شد.

(When the wicked growe as the grasse, and all the workers of wickednesse doe flourish) that they shall be destroyed for euer.

8 اما تو ای خداوند، تا ابد باقی و از همه برتر هستی!

But thou, O Lord, art most High for euermore.

9 همه دشمنانت نابود خواهند شد و تمام بدکاران، از پای در خواهند آمد.

For loe, thine enemies, O Lord: for loe, thine enemies shall perish: all the workers of iniquitie shall be destroyed.

10 تو مرا همچون گاو وحشی نیرومند ساخته‌ای و با روغن خوشبوی تازه مرا معطر کرده‌ای.

But thou shalt exalt mine horne, like the vnicornes, and I shalbe anoynted with fresh oyle.

11 نابودی دشمنانم را با چشمانم دیده‌ام و خبر سقوط گناهکاران را با گوشهای خود شنیده‌ام.

Mine eye also shall see my desire against mine enemies: and mine eares shall heare my wish against the wicked, that rise vp against me.

12 عادلان همچون درخت خرما ثمر می‌دهند و مانند درخت سرو لبنان، رشد می‌کنند.

The righteous shall flourish like a palme tree, and shall grow like a Cedar in Lebanon.

13 آنان همچون درختانی هستند که در خانهٔ خداوند نشانده شده‌اند. آنان در صحنهای خدا شکوفه خواهند داد.

Such as bee planted in the house of the Lord, shall flourish in the courtes of our God.

14 حتی در ایام پیری نیز، قوی و پرنشاط خواهند بود و ثمر خواهند داد،

They shall still bring foorth fruite in their age: they shall be fat and flourishing,

15 و اعلام خواهند کرد: «خدا عادل است؛ او تکیه‌گاه من است و در او هیچ بدی وجود ندارد.»

To declare that the Lord my rocke is righteous, and that none iniquitie is in him.
