| دعای موسی، مرد خدا. ای خداوند، تو همیشه پناهگاه ما بوده‌ای. | 1 |
Lord, you have always (been [like] a home for us/protected us) [MET].
| قبل از آنکه دنیا را بیافرینی و کوهها را به وجود آوری، تو بوده‌ای. تو را ابتدا و انتهایی نیست. | 2 |
Before you created the mountains, before you formed the earth and everything that is in it, you were eternally God, and you will be God forever.
| انسان را به خاک برمی‌گردانی و می‌گویی: «ای خاکیان، به خاک تبدیل شوید!» | 3 |
[When people die], you cause their corpses to become soil again; you change their corpses to become dirt like [the first man] was created from.
| هزار سال در نظر تو چون یک روز، بلکه چون یک ساعت است. | 4 |
When you (consider/think about) time, 1,000 years are [as short as] [SIM] one day which passes; [you consider that] [HYP] they are as short as a few hours in the night.
| تو انسان را چون سیلاب از جای بر می‌کنی و می‌بری. زندگی او خوابی بیش نیست. او مانند گیاهی است که صبح می‌روید و می‌شکفد ولی عصر پژمرده و خشک می‌شود. | 5 |
You cause people suddenly to die [MET]; they [live only a short time], like a dream lasts only a short time. They are like grass/weeds [SIM] that grow up.

In the morning [DOU] the grass sprouts and grows well, but in the evening it dries up and (completely withers/dies).
| بر اثر غضب تو ما رو به نابودی می‌رویم و خشم تو ما را پریشان و بی‌قرار ساخته است. | 7 |
[Similarly], [because of the sins that we have committed], you become angry with us; you terrify us and then you destroy us.
| گناهان ما را در برابر چشمان خود گذاشته‌ای و هیچ خطای ما از دید تو پنهان نیست. | 8 |
[It is as though] you place our sins in front of you, you spread out even our secret sins where you can see them.
| روزهای زندگی ما بر اثر خشم تو کوتاه شده است و عمر خود را مثل یک خواب می‌گذرانیم. | 9 |
Because you are angry with us, you cause our lives to end; the years that we live pass as quickly as a sigh does.
| عمر ما هفتاد سال است و اگر قوی باشیم، شاید به هشتاد سال برسد. ولی در طول این مدت چیزی جز درد و رنج نصیب ما نمی‌شود. هر آن ممکن است عمرمان به سر آید و به عالم دیگر پرواز کنیم. | 10 |
People live for only 70 years; but if they are strong, some of them live for 80 years. But even during good years we have much pain and troubles; our lives soon end, and we die [EUP].
| خداوندا، کیست که بداند شدت خشم تو چقدر است؟ کدام یک از ما چنانکه باید و شاید از تو می‌ترسد؟ | 11 |
No one [RHQ] has fully experienced the powerful things you can do to them when you are angry with them, and people are not afraid that you will greatly punish them because of your being angry with them.
| به ما یاد بده که بدانیم عمر ما چه زودگذر است تا در این عمر کوتاه با خردمندی زندگی کنیم. | 12 |
So teach/help us to realize that we live for only a short time in order that we may [use our time] wisely.
| ای خداوند، نزد ما برگرد! تا به کی منتظر باشیم؟ بر بندگانت رحم کن. | 13 |
Yahweh, how long [will you be angry with us]? Pity us who serve you.
| صبحگاهان ما را از محبت خود بهره‌مند گردان تا در تمام عمر خود شادمان باشیم. | 14 |
Each morning show us that your faithfully loving us is enough for us in order that we may shout joyfully and be happy for the rest of our lives.
| به اندازهٔ سالهایی که ما را ذلیل و خوار ساخته‌ای، ما را شاد و سرافراز گردان. | 15 |
Cause us to now be as happy for as many years as you (afflicted us/caused us to be sad) and we experienced troubles.
| بگذار ما بندگانت بار دیگر اعمال شگفت‌انگیز تو را مشاهده کنیم. عظمت خود را بر فرزندانمان نمایان ساز. | 16 |
Enable us to see the [great] things that you do and enable our descendants to [also] see your glorious power.
| خداوندا، ما را مورد لطف خود قرار بده و در تمام کارهایمان ما را برکت عطا فرما، بله، در تمام کارهایمان ما را برکت عطا فرما! | 17 |
Lord, our God, give us your blessings and enable us to be successful; yes, cause us to be successful in [everything] that we do [DOU]!
