مزامیر 89

1 قصیدۀ ایتانِ اِزراحی. ای خداوند، محبت تو را همواره خواهم ستود و با زبان خود پیوسته از وفاداری تو سخن خواهم گفت،

“A Maskil of Ethan the Ezrachite.” The kindnesses of the Lord will I for ever sing: from generation to generation will I make known thy faithfulness with my mouth.

2 زیرا محبت تو همیشگی است و وفاداری تو چون آسمانها پایدار است.

For I have said, To eternity will kindness be built up: the heavens—yea, in these wilt thou establish thy faithfulness.

3 تو با خادم برگزیده‌ات داوود عهد بسته‌ای و وعده کرده‌ای که

“I have made a covenant with my elect, I have sworn unto David my servant,

4 تخت سلطنت او را تا ابد، نسل اندر نسل، پایدار خواهی داشت.

Unto eternity will I establish thy seed, and I will build up thy throne, from generation to generation.” (Selah)

5 خداوندا، آسمانها از کارهای شگفت‌انگیز تو تعریف می‌کنند و امانت و وفاداری تو را می‌ستایند.

And the heavens praise thy wonder, O Lord: also thy faithfulness in the assembly of holy ones.

6 در آسمانها کیست که با تو، ای خداوند، برابری کند؟ در میان موجودات آسمانی چه کسی را می‌توان به تو تشبیه کرد؟

For who in the sky can be compared unto the Lord? who can be likened unto the Lord among the sons of the mighty?

7 تو در میان مقدّسین مورد ستایش هستی؛ آنان با ترس و احترام گرداگرد تو ایستاده‌اند.

God is greatly terrific in the secret council of the holy ones and fear-inspiring over all that are about him.

8 ای یهوه، خدای لشکرهای آسمان، کیست مانند تو؟ تو در قدرت و امانت بی‌نظیری!

O Lord God of hosts, who is powerful, like thee, Eternal! and thy faithfulness is round about thee.

9 بر امواج دریاها مسلط هستی و طغیان آنها را آرام می‌گردانی.

Thou rulest over the pride of the sea: when its waves are lifted up, thou assuagest them.

10 تو مصر را در هم کوبیدی و با دست توانای خود دشمنانت را تار و مار ساختی.

Thou didst crush Rahab as one that is slain: with thy strong arm didst thou scatter thy enemies.

11 آسمانها و زمین و هر آنچه در جهان است از آن تو می‌باشند؛ زیرا تو آنها را آفریده‌ای.

Thine are the heavens, also thine is the earth: as for the world and what filleth it, thou hast founded them.

12 شمال و جنوب را تو به وجود آورده‌ای. کوه تابور و حرمون، مظهر قدرت تو می‌باشند.

The north and the south—these hast thou created: Tabor and Chermon shall rejoice in thy name.

13 دست تو بسیار تواناست. تو خدای متعال هستی.

Thine is the powerful arm, with might: strong is thy hand, and exalted is thy right hand.

14 فرمانروایی تو بر اساس عدل و انصاف است. در تمام کارهایت محبت و وفاداری مشاهده می‌شود.

Righteousness and justice are the prop of thy throne: kindness and truth precede thy presence.

15 خوشا به حال مردمی که می‌دانند چگونه تو را تحسین و تمجید کنند، زیرا آنها در نور حضورت راه خواهند رفت.

Happy is the people that know the cornet's sound: O Lord, in the light of thy countenance will they ever walk firmly.

16 آنها تمام روز به نام تو شادی می‌کنند و به سبب عدالت تو سربلند می‌باشند.

In thy name will they be glad all the day, and in thy righteousness will they be exalted.

17 تو به ما قدرت می‌بخشی و به لطف خویش ما را پیروز و سرافراز می‌گردانی.

For thou art the glory of their strength; and through thy favor will our horn be exalted.

18 ای خداوند، تو از ما حمایت کردی؛ ای خدای مقدّس اسرائیل، تو به ما پادشاه بخشیدی.

For of the Lord is our shield; and of the Holy One of Israel is our king.

19 در عالم رویا با نبی خود سخن گفتی و فرمودی: «در میان اسرائیل جوانی را برگزیده‌ام و او را سرافراز نموده‌ام تا پادشاه شود؛

Then spokest thou in a vision to thy pious [servant], and saidst, “I have bestowed help to one that is mighty; I have exalted a youth out of the people;

20 او خدمتگزار من داوود است. من او را با روغن مقدّس مسح کرده‌ام

I have found David my servant; with my holy oil have I anointed him;

21 و او را پایدار و توانا خواهم ساخت.

With whom my hand shall be firmly established; also my arm shall strengthen him;

22 دشمنانش بر او پیروز نخواهند شد و آسیبی از مخالفانش به او نخواهد رسید.

The enemy shall not exact from him like a lender: and the son of injustice shall not afflict him:

23 در برابر چشمان وی بدخواهانش را از بین خواهم برد و آنانی را که از او نفرت داشته باشند هلاک خواهم نمود.

And I will beat down before his face his assailants, and those that hate him will I plague.

24 از وفاداری و محبت من برخوردار خواهد بود و من او را پیروز و سرافراز خواهم ساخت.

But my faithfulness and my kindness shall be with him: and through my name shall his horn be exalted.

25 قلمرو فرمانروایی او را از دریای بزرگ تا رود فرات وسعت خواهم بخشید.

And I will place on the sea his hand, and on the rivers his right hand.

26 او مرا پدر خود و خدا و صخرهٔ نجات خویش خواهد خواند.

He will call unto me, Thou art my father, my God, and the rock of my salvation.

27 من نیز با او چون پسر ارشد خویش رفتار خواهم کرد و او را برتر از تمام پادشاهان جهان خواهم ساخت.

Also I will appoint my first-born, the highest among the kings of the earth.

28 محبت خود را هرگز از او دریغ نخواهم داشت، زیرا عهد من با او عهدی ابدی می‌باشد.

For evermore will I keep for him my kindness, and my covenant shall stand faithfully with him.

29 نسل او را تا ابد باقی خواهم گذاشت و سلطنت او جاودانی خواهد بود.

And I appoint for ever his seed, and his throne as the days of heaven.

30 «اما اگر فرزندانش از دستورهای من سرپیچی کنند و احکام مرا بشکنند،

If his children forsake my law, and walk not in my ordinances;

31 اگر فرایض مرا زیر پا بگذارند، و احکام مرا نگاه ندارند،

If they profane my statutes, and keep not my commandments:

32 آنگاه ایشان را تنبیه خواهم نمود.

Then will I visit with the rod their transgressions, and with plagues their iniquity.

33 با این حال او را از محبت خود محروم نخواهم کرد و نسبت به قولی که داده‌ام، وفادار خواهم ماند.

Nevertheless my kindness will I not make utterly void from him, and I will not act falsely against my faithfulness.

34 آری، عهد خود را نخواهم شکست و آنچه را که گفته‌ام تغییر نخواهم داد.

I will not profane my covenant, and what is gone out of my lips will I not alter.

35 یک بار به داوود به نام مقدّس خود وعده دادم و هرگز آن را باطل نخواهم کرد

One thing have I sworn by my holiness, that I will not lie unto David.

36 که نسل او تا ابد باقی خواهد ماند و سلطنت وی تا زمانی که خورشید بدرخشد دوام خواهد داشت

His seed shall endure for ever, and his throne shall be like the sun before me.

37 و مانند ماه که شاهد باوفایی در آسمان است، پایدار خواهد بود.»

Like the moon shall it be firmly established for ever, and as this faithful witness in the sky.” (Selah)

38 اما ای خداوند، تو بر پادشاه برگزیدهٔ خود غضبناکی و او را ترک کرده‌ای.

And yet thou hast east off and despised, thou hast become wroth with thy anointed.

39 آیا عهد خود را با خدمتگزار خویش باطل نموده‌ای؟ تو تاج او را بر زمین انداخته‌ای و آن را بی‌حرمت ساخته‌ای!

Thou hast made void the covenant of thy servant: thou hast profaned, down to the ground, his crown.

40 حصار شهر او را شکسته‌ای و قلعه‌هایش را خراب کرده‌ای.

Thou hast broken down all his fences: thou hast brought his strong-holds to terror.

41 هر که از راه می‌رسد اموال او را غارت می‌کند. او نزد همسایگان خود رسوا شده است.

All that pass by the way plunder him: he is become a reproach to his neighbors.

42 دشمنانش را بر او پیروز ساخته‌ای.

Thou hast raised up the right hand of his assailants: thou hast caused all his enemies to rejoice.

43 شمشیر او را کند کرده‌ای. در جنگ به او کمک نکرده‌ای.

Thou hast also turned the edge of his sword, and hast not let him stand erect in the battle.

44 تخت سلطنتش را واژگون ساخته، به شکوه و عظمتش خاتمه داده‌ای.

Thou hast made his brilliancy cease; and his throne hast thou thrown down to the ground.

45 پیری زودرس به سراغش فرستاده‌ای و نزد همه رسوایش کرده‌ای.

Thou hast shortened the days of his youth: thou hast enshrouded him with shame. (Selah)

46 ای خداوند، تا به کی روی خود را پنهان می‌کنی؟ آیا تا ابد خشم تو چون آتش افروخته خواهد بود؟

How long, Lord, wilt thou hide thyself, continually? how long shall thy fury burn like fire?

47 به یاد آور که عمر انسان چقدر کوتاه است. تو همهٔ انسانها را فناپذیر آفریده‌ای.

Remember [what] I am, what my duration is [here], for what nothingness thou hast created all sons of men!

48 کیست که بتواند نمیرد و تا ابد زنده بماند؟ (Sheol h7585)

What man is there that can live, and shall not see death? that can deliver his soul from the power of the nether word? (Selah) (Sheol h7585)

49 ای خداوند، کجاست محبت نخستین تو؟ کجاست وعدهٔ محبت تو که در نهایتِ وفاداری به داوود دادی؟

Where are thy former kindnesses, O Lord, which thou hast sworn unto David by thy truth?

50 ببین مردم چگونه مرا ملامت می‌کنند. بار ملامتهای آنها را بر دوش می‌کشم.

Remember, Lord, the disgrace of thy servants; that I bear in my bosom the [burden] of all the many nations;

51 دشمنانت پادشاه برگزیده‌ات را ریشخند می‌کنند و هر جا پای می‌نهد به او توهین می‌کنند.

That thy enemies have defied, O Lord; that they have defied the footsteps of thy anointed.

52 شکر و سپاس بر نام خداوند تا ابد! آمین! آمین!

Blessed be the Lord for evermore. Amen, and Amen.
