مزامیر 75

1 برای رهبر سرایندگان: در مایۀ «نابود نکن». مزمور آساف. سرود. تو را سپاس می‌گویم ای خدا، تو را سپاس می‌گویم! تو به ما نزدیک هستی و ما کارهای شگفت‌انگیز تو را اعلام می‌کنیم.

To him that excelleth. Destroy not. A Psalme or song committed toAsaph. We will prayse thee, O God, we will prayse thee, for thy Name is neere: therefore they will declare thy wonderous workes.

2 خداوند می‌فرماید: «وقتی زمان معین برسد، مردم را از روی عدل و انصاف داوری خواهم کرد.

When I shall take a conuenient time, I will iudge righteously.

3 وقتی زمین بلرزد و ساکنانش هراسان شوند، مَنَم که ارکان آن را محکم نگاه می‌دارم.

The earth and all the inhabitantes thereof are dissolued: but I will establish the pillars of it. (Selah)

4 «به متکبران و شروران می‌گویم که مغرور نباشند

I saide vnto the foolish, Be not so foolish, and to the wicked, Lift not vp the horne.

5 و از بلندپروازی و لاف زدن دست بردارند.»

Lift not vp your horne on high, neither speake with a stiffe necke.

6 زیرا سرافرازی انسان نه از غرب می‌آید نه از شرق و نه از هیچ جای دیگر،

For to come to preferment is neither from the East, nor from the West, nor from the South,

7 بلکه خداست که داوری می‌کند؛ اوست که یکی را سرافراز و دیگری را سرافکنده می‌نماید.

But God is the iudge: he maketh lowe and he maketh hie.

8 خداوند جامی در دست دارد که از شراب تند و قوی غضب او پر است. او آن را به تمام شریران خواهد نوشانید و آنها آن را تا قطرۀ آخر سر خواهند کشید.

For in the hand of the Lord is a cup, and the wine is red: it is full mixt, and he powreth out of the same: surely all the wicked of the earth shall wring out and drinke the dregges thereof.

9 اما من از تعریف و تمجید خدای یعقوب باز نخواهم ایستاد، بلکه پیوسته در وصف او سرود خواهم خواند!

But I will declare for euer, and sing prayses vnto the God of Iaakob.

10 او قدرت شریران را در هم خواهد شکست و عادلان را تقویت خواهد نمود.

All the hornes of the wicked also will I breake: but the hornes of the righteous shalbe exalted.
