| برای رهبر سرایندگان. مزمور داوود، خدمتگزار خداوند. گناه در عمق دل انسان شرور لانه کرده است و هیچ ترسی از خدا ندارند. | 1 |
`To victorie, to Dauid, `the seruaunt of the Lord. The vniust man seide, that he trespasse in hym silf; the drede of God is not bifor hise iyen.
| او چنان از خود راضی است که نمی‌تواند گناهش را ببیند و از آن رویگردان شود. | 2 |
For he dide gilefuli in the siyt of God; that his wickidnesse be foundun to hatrede.
| سخنانش شرارت‌آمیز و مملو از دروغ است؛ حکمت و نیکی در وجودش نیست. | 3 |
The wordis of his mouth ben wickidnesse and gile, he nolde vndirstonde to do wel.
| به راههای کج می‌رود و از کارهای خلاف دست نمی‌کشد. | 4 |
He thouyte wickidnesse in his bed, he stood nyy al weie not good; forsothe he hatide not malice.
| محبت تو، ای خداوند، تا به آسمانها می‌رسد و وفاداری تو به بالاتر از ابرها! | 5 |
Lord, thi merci is in heuene; and thi treuthe is `til to cloudis.
| عدالت تو همچون کوههای بزرگ پابرجاست؛ احکام تو مانند دریا عمیق است. ای خداوند، تو حافظ انسانها و حیوانات هستی. | 6 |
Thi riytfulnesse is as the hillis of God; thi domes ben myche depthe of watris. Lord, thou schalt saue men and beestis;
| خدایا، محبت تو چه عظیم است! آدمیان زیر سایهٔ بالهای تو پناه می‌گیرند. | 7 |
as thou, God, hast multiplied thi merci. But the sones of men; schulen hope in the hilyng of thi wyngis.
| آنها از برکت خانهٔ تو سیر می‌شوند و تو از چشمهٔ نیکویی خود به آنها می‌نوشانی. | 8 |
Thei schulen be fillid gretli of the plentee of thin hows; and thou schalt yyue drynke to hem with the steef streem of thi likyng.
| تو سرچشمهٔ حیات هستی؛ از نور تو است که ما نور حیات را می‌بینیم! | 9 |
For the wel of life is at thee; and in thi liyt we schulen se liyt.
| خداوندا، محبت تو همیشه بر کسانی که تو را می‌شناسند باقی بماند و نیکویی تو پیوسته همراه راست‌دلان باشد. | 10 |
Lord, sette forth thi mercy to hem, that knowen thee; and thi ryytfulnesse to hem that ben of riytful herte.
| نگذار متکبران به من حمله کنند و شروران مرا متواری سازند. | 11 |
The foot of pryde come not to me; and the hond of the synnere moue me not.
| ببینید چگونه بدکاران افتاده‌اند! آنها نقش زمین شده‌اند و دیگر نمی‌توانند برخیزند! | 12 |
There thei felden doun, that worchen wickidnesse; thei ben cast out, and myyten not stonde.
