مزامیر 35

1 مزمور داوود. ای خداوند، با دشمنانم دشمنی کن و با کسانی که با من می‌جنگند، بجنگ.

David’s. Contend, O Yahweh, with them who contend with me, Make war upon them who make war upon me.

2 زرۀ خود را بپوش و سپر خود را بردار و به کمک من بیا.

Grasp buckler and shield, and arise in my help;

3 نیزهٔ خود را به دست گیر و راه آنانی را که مرا تعقیب می‌کنند، ببند. به من اطمینان بده که مرا نجات خواهی داد.

Then draw the spear, and close up against my pursuers, Say to my soul, Thy salvation, I am!

4 آنانی که قصد جان مرا دارند، خجل و رسوا شوند؛ آنانی که بدخواه من هستند شکست خورده، خوار و سرافکنده شوند.

Let them be ashamed and confounded, who are seeking my life, —Let them turn back and be put to the blush, who are devising my hurt:

5 همچون کاه در برابر باد پراکنده شوند و فرشتهٔ خداوند آنها را براند.

Let them be as chaff before the wind, with, the messenger of Yahweh, pressing them on:

6 وقتی فرشته آنها را تعقیب می‌کند، راه آنها تاریک و لغزنده شود تا نتوانند فرار کنند.

Let their way become dark and slippery, with, the messenger of Yahweh, pursuing them.

7 زیرا بی‌جهت برای من دام نهادند و چاهی عمیق کندند تا در آن گرفتار شوم.

For, without cause, have they hid for me, in a ditch, their net, —Without cause, have they digged [a pit] for my life.

8 باشد که ناگهان بلایی بر آنها نازل شود و در دامی که نهاده‌اند و چاهی که کنده‌اند، خود گرفتار شوند.

There shall reach him a ruin he could not know, —Yea, his own net which he hath hidden, shall capture him, Into that ruin, shall he fall!

9 و اما جان من از وجود خداوند شادی خواهد کرد و به سبب نجاتی که او می‌دهد خوشحال خواهد شد.

But, my soul, shall exult in Yahweh, —shall be glad in his salvation.

10 با تمام وجودم می‌گویم: «کیست مانند تو، ای خداوند؟ تو ضعیف را از دست زورگو نجات می‌دهی و مظلوم را از چنگ ظالم می‌رهانی.»

All my bones, shall say—O Yahweh, who is like unto thee? Rescuing the oppressed from one stronger than he, Yea the oppressed and the needy, from their spoiler.

11 شاهدان بیرحم علیه من برخاسته‌اند و مرا به چیزهایی متهم می‌کنند که روحم از آنها بی‌خبر است.

There rise up witnesses helping forward violence and wrong, What I know not, they demand of me:

12 نیکی مرا با بدی پاسخ می‌دهند و جان مرا می‌رنجانند.

They repay me evil for good, Bereaving my soul.

13 و اما من، وقتی آنها بیمار بودند لباس عزا پوشیدم، جان خود را با روزه رنج دادم و برایشان دعا کردم.

But, as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth, I humbled, with fasting, my soul, though, my prayer, unto mine own bosom, might return:

14 مانند یک دوست و برادر برای آنها دل سوزاندم؛ چنان اندوهگین بودم که گویی مادرم را از دست داده‌ام!

Like as for a friend, like as for a brother of mine own, I walked to and fro, As though mourning for a mother, I gloomily bowed myself down.

15 اما وقتی من در زحمت افتادم، آنها شاد و خندان علیه من جمع شدند. حتی کسانی که نمی‌شناختم به من حمله‌ور شدند و بی‌وقفه به من ناسزا گفتند.

But, in mine overthrow, have they rejoiced, and gathered themselves together, —There gathered themselves together against me foolish men, and I knew it not, They have torn in pieces, and not been silent;

16 آری، مرا استهزا کردند و مانند آدمهای هرزه به من دشنام دادند.

Amidst profane praters of perversion, have they gnashed upon me with their teeth.

17 خداوندا، تا به کی نظاره‌گر خواهی بود؟ جانم را از شرّ آنها رهایی ده؛ زندگی مرا از دست این شیران درنده نجات ده.

My Lord! how long wilt thou look on? Bring back my soul out of their raging, from among lions, my solitary self.

18 آنگاه در میان جماعت بزرگ، تو را ستایش خواهم نمود و در حضور مردم، تو را سپاس خواهم گفت.

I will thank thee, in the midst of a great convocation, —In the midst of a mighty people, will I praise thee.

19 نگذار کسانی که بی‌جهت با من دشمنی می‌کنند به من بخندند و آنانی که از من متنفرند، مسخره‌ام کنند.

Let not them who are falsely my foes rejoice over me, As for them who hate me without cause, let them not wink the eye!

20 سخنان آنان دوستانه نیست؛ آنها بر ضد کسانی که صلح‌جو هستند و زندگی آرامی دارند افترا می‌زنند.

For, no salvation, will they utter, —But, against the quiet of the land, deceitful things, do they devise;

21 به من می‌گویند: «ما با چشمان خود دیدیم که چه کردی!»

Yea they have opened wide against me their mouth, They have said, Aha! Aha! our own eye, hath seen!

22 اما تو، ای خداوند، از همه چیز آگاهی؛ پس اینچنین ساکت نباش؛ ای خداوند، از من دور مباش!

Thou hast seen, O Yahweh, do not keep silence! O My Lord! be not far from me:

23 ای یهوه خدای من، برخیز و به دادم برس و از حق من دفاع کن!

Bestir thyself and wake up, to my vindication, O my God and My Lord!—to my plea:

24 ای یهوه خدای من، بر طبق عدالت خود، در مورد من داوری کن و نگذار دشمنانم به من بخندند.

Vindicate me according to thy righteousness, O Yahweh, my God! And let them not rejoice over me:

25 نگذار در دل خود بگویند: «ما به آرزوی خود رسیدیم! او را شکست دادیم!»

Let them not say in their heart, Aha! to our mind! Let them not say, We have swallowed him up!

26 آنانی که از ناکامی و بدبختی من شاد شده‌اند، خود خجل و شرمنده شوند؛ کسانی که خود را از من برتر و بزرگتر می‌دانند، سرافکنده و رسوا گردند.

Let them turn pale, and then at once blush, who are rejoicing at my misfortune, —Let them be clothed with shame and confusion, who are magnifying themselves against me.

27 اما آنانی که می‌خواهند حقم به من داده شود، شاد و خرم باشند و پیوسته بگویند: «خداوند بزرگ است و خواستار سلامتی و موفقیتِ خدمتگزار خود می‌باشد.»

Let them shout in triumph and rejoice, who are desiring my justification; And let them say continually, Yahweh be magnified, Who hath taken pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.

28 آنگاه من عدالت تو را بیان خواهم کرد و تمام روز تو را سپاس خواهم گفت.

Mine own tongue also, shall softly utter thy righteousness, —All the day long, —thy praise!
