| ای عادلان، خداوند را با سرودی شاد ستایش کنید! خداوند را ستودن زیبندهٔ نیکان است. | 1 |
Exult, ye righteous, in Jehovah: praise is comely for the upright.
| خداوند را با بربط بپرستید و با عود ده تار برای او سرود بخوانید! | 2 |
Give thanks unto Jehovah with the harp; sing psalms unto him with the ten-stringed lute.
| سرودهای تازه برای خداوند بسرایید، نیکو بنوازید و با صدای بلند بخوانید. | 3 |
Sing unto him a new song; play skilfully with a loud sound.
| زیرا کلام خداوند راست و درست است و او در تمام کارهایش امین و وفادار است. | 4 |
For the word of Jehovah is right, and all his work is in faithfulness.
| او عدل و انصاف را دوست دارد. جهان سرشار از محبت خداوند است. | 5 |
He loveth righteousness and judgment: the earth is full of the loving-kindness of Jehovah.
| به فرمان خداوند آسمانها به وجود آمد؛ او با کلام دهانش خورشید و ماه و ستارگان را آفرید. | 6 |
By the word of Jehovah were the heavens made, and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.
| او آبهای دریاها را در یک جا جمع کرد و آبهای عمیق را در مخزنها ریخت. | 7 |
He gathereth the waters of the sea together as a heap; he layeth up the deeps in storehouses.
| ای همهٔ مردم روی زمین، خداوند را حرمت بدارید و در برابر او سر تعظیم فرود آورید! | 8 |
Let all the earth fear Jehovah; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.
| زیرا او دستور داد و دنیا آفریده شد؛ او امر فرمود و عالم هستی به وجود آمد. | 9 |
For he spoke, and it was [done]; he commanded, and it stood fast.
| خداوند مشورت قومها را بی‌اثر می‌کند و نقشه‌های آنها را نقش بر آب می‌سازد. | 10 |
Jehovah frustrateth the counsel of the nations; he maketh the thoughts of the peoples of none effect.
| اما تصمیم خداوند قطعی است و نقشه‌های او تا ابد پایدار است. | 11 |
The counsel of Jehovah standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart from generation to generation.
| خوشا به حال قومی که خداوند، خدای ایشان است! خوشا به حال مردمی که خداوند، ایشان را برای خود برگزیده است! | 12 |
Blessed is the nation whose God is Jehovah, the people that he hath chosen for his inheritance!
| خداوند از آسمان نگاه می‌کند و همهٔ انسانها را می‌بیند؛ | 13 |
Jehovah looketh from the heavens; he beholdeth all the sons of men:
| او از مکان سکونت خود، تمام ساکنان جهان را زیر نظر دارد. | 14 |
From the place of his habitation he looketh forth upon all the inhabitants of the earth;
| او که خالق دلهاست، خوب می‌داند که در دل و اندیشهٔ انسان چه می‌گذرد. | 15 |
He who fashioneth the hearts of them all, who considereth all their works.
| پادشاه به سبب قدرت لشکرش نیست که پیروز می‌شود؛ سرباز با زور بازویش نیست که نجات پیدا می‌کند. | 16 |
The king is not saved by the multitude of [his] forces; a mighty man is not delivered by much strength.
| اسب جنگی نمی‌تواند کسی را نجات دهد؛ امید بستن به آن کار بیهوده‌ای است. | 17 |
The horse is a vain thing for safety; neither doth he deliver by his great power.
| اما خداوند از کسانی که او را گرامی می‌دارند و انتظار محبتش را می‌کشند مراقبت می‌کند. | 18 |
Behold, the eye of Jehovah is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his loving-kindness,
| او ایشان را از مرگ می‌رهاند و در هنگام قحطی آنها را زنده نگه می‌دارد. | 19 |
To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.
| امید ما به خداوند است. او مددکار و مدافع ماست. | 20 |
Our soul waiteth for Jehovah: he is our help and our shield.
| او مایهٔ شادی دل ماست. ما به نام مقدّس او توکل می‌کنیم. | 21 |
For in him shall our heart rejoice, because we have confided in his holy name.
| خداوندا، محبت تو بر ما باد؛ زیرا ما به تو امید بسته‌ایم! | 22 |
Let thy loving-kindness, O Jehovah, be upon us, according as we have hoped in thee.
