مزامیر 23

1 مزمور داوود. خداوند شبان من است؛ محتاج به هیچ چیز نخواهم بود.

A psalm for David. The Lord ruleth me: and I shall want nothing.

2 در مرتعهای سبز مرا می‌خواباند، به سوی آبهای آرام هدایتم می‌کند

He hath set me in a place of pasture. He hath brought me up, on the water of refreshment:

3 و جان مرا تازه می‌سازد. او به خاطر نام پرشکوه خود مرا به راه راست رهبری می‌کند.

He hath converted my soul. He hath led me on the paths of justice, for his own name’s sake.

4 حتی اگر از درهٔ تاریک مرگ نیز عبور کنم، نخواهم ترسید، زیرا تو، ای شبان من، با من هستی! عصا و چوبدستی تو به من قوت قلب می‌بخشد.

For though I should walk in the midst of the shadow of death, I will fear no evils, for thou art with me. Thy rod and thy staff, they have comforted me.

5 سفره‌ای برای من در برابر دیدگان دشمنانم پهن می‌کنی! سَرَم را به روغن تدهین می‌کنی. پیاله‌ام از برکت تو لبریز است.

Thou hast prepared a table before me against them that afflict me. Thou hast anointed my head with oil; and my chalice which inebriateth me, how goodly is it!

6 اطمینان دارم که در طول عمر خود، نیکویی و رحمت تو، ای خداوند، همراه من خواهد بود و من تا ابد در خانهٔ تو ساکن خواهم شد.

And thy mercy will follow me all the days of my life. And that I may dwell in the house of the Lord unto length of days.
