For the Leader. A Psalm of David. Deliver me, O LORD, from the evil man; preserve me from the violent man;
| آنها تنها به شرارت می‌اندیشند و همواره در فکر بر پا کردن نزاع هستند. | 2 |
Who devise evil things in their heart; every day do they stir up wars.
| زبانشان مانند نیش مار سمی تند و تیز است و زهر مار از لبانشان می‌چکد. | 3 |
They have sharpened their tongue like a serpent; vipers' venom is under their lips. (Selah)
| ای خداوند، مرا از دست مردان شرور محفوظ نگه دار. مرا از دست مردان ظالم که برای سرنگونی من نقشه می‌کشند، حفظ فرما. | 4 |
Keep me, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the violent man; who have purposed to make my steps slip.
| مردان متکبر بر سر راه من دام می‌گذارند، بندهای تور خود را پهن می‌کنند تا مرا گرفتار سازند. | 5 |
The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set gins for me. (Selah)
| ای خداوند، من تو را خدای خود می‌دانم. فریاد مرا بشنو و به داد من برس. | 6 |
I have said unto the LORD: 'Thou art my God'; give ear, O LORD, unto the voice of my supplications.
| ای یهوه، خداوند من، تو قوت و نجات من هستی. تو سر مرا در روز جنگ محفوظ داشتی. | 7 |
O GOD the Lord, the strength of my salvation, who hast screened my head in the day of battle,
| ای خداوند، نگذار بدکاران به مراد دل خود برسند و کامیاب شده، مغرور شوند. | 8 |
Grant not, O LORD, the desires of the wicked; further not his evil device, so that they exalt themselves. (Selah)
| بگذار آنچه بر ضد من اندیشیده‌اند بر سر خودشان بیاید. | 9 |
As for the head of those that compass me about, let the mischief of their own lips cover them.
| ای کاش پاره‌های آتش بر سرشان بریزد و آنها را بسوزاند، ای کاش به چاه عمیق افکنده شوند و هرگز از آن بیرون نیایند. | 10 |
Let burning coals fall upon them; let them be cast into the fire, into deep pits, that they rise not up again.
| ای کاش آنان که به ناحق به دیگران تهمت می‌زنند، کامیاب نشوند. ای کاش شخص ظالم به‌وسیلۀ ظلم و شرارت خودش نابود شود. | 11 |
A slanderer shall not be established in the earth; the violent and evil man shall be hunted with thrust upon thrust.
| خداوندا، می‌دانم که تو به داد ستمدیدگان خواهی رسید و حق آنان را از ظالمان خواهی گرفت. | 12 |
I know that the LORD will maintain the cause of the poor, and the right of the needy.
| ای خداوند، عادلان نام تو را ستایش خواهند کرد و صالحان در حضور تو خواهند زیست. | 13 |
Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto Thy name; the upright shall dwell in Thy presence.
