مزامیر 124

1 سرود زائران به هنگام بالا رفتن به اورشلیم. مزمور داوود. اگر خداوند با ما نمی‌بود چه می‌شد؟ بگذار اسرائیل بگوید:

A Song of degrees of David. If [it had not been] the LORD who was on our side, now may Israel say;

2 اگر خداوند با ما نمی‌بود هنگامی که دشمنان بر ما یورش آوردند،

If [it had not been] the LORD who was on our side, when men rose up against us:

3 آنها در خشم آتشین خود ما را زنده می‌بلعیدند!

Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us:

4 سیل ما را با خود می‌بُرد و آبها از سر ما می‌گذشت.

Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul:

5 آری، در گردابها غرق می‌شدیم!

Then the proud waters had gone over our soul.

6 سپاس بر خداوند که نگذاشت ما شکار دندانهای آنها شویم.

Blessed [be] the LORD, who hath not given us [as] a prey to their teeth.

7 همچون پرنده، از دام صیاد گریختیم. دام پاره شد و ما نجات یافتیم.

Our soul hath escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare [is] broken, and we have escaped.

8 مددکار ما خداوند است که آسمان و زمین را آفرید.

Our help [is] in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth.
