1 برای رهبر سرایندگان. مزمور داوود. ای خدا و ای معبود من، خاموش مباش!

For the end, a Psalm of David. For the end, a Psalm of David. O God, pass not over my praise in silence;

2 بدکاران به من تهمت ناروا می‌زنند و حرفهای دروغ دربارهٔ من می‌گویند.

for the mouth of the sinner and the mouth of the crafty [man] have been opened against me: they have spoken against me with a crafty tongue.

3 با نفرت دور مرا گرفته‌اند و بی‌سبب با من می‌جنگند.

And they have compassed me with words of hatred; and fought against me without a cause.

4 من آنها را دوست دارم و برای ایشان دعای خیر می‌کنم، ولی آنها با من مخالفت می‌ورزند.

Instead of loving me, they falsely accused me: but I continued to pray.

5 به عوض خوبی، به من بدی می‌کنند و به عوض محبت، با من دشمنی می‌نمایند.

And they rewarded me evil for good, and hatred for my love.

6 ای خدا، دشمنم را به دست داوری ظالم بسپار و بگذار یکی از بدخواهانش کنار او بایستد و بر ضد او شهادت دهد.

Set you a sinner against him; and let the devil stand at his right hand.

7 بگذار او در محاکمه مجرم شناخته شود. حتی دعای او، برایش جرم محسوب گردد.

When he is judged, let him go forth condemned: and let his prayer become sin.

8 عمرش کوتاه شود و مقام او را به دیگری بدهند.

Let his days be few: and let another take his office of overseer.

9 فرزندانش یتیم و زنش بیوه شود.

Let his children be orphans, and his wife a widow.

10 فرزندانش آواره شده، در میان ویرانه‌های خانهٔ خود به گدایی بنشینند.

Let his children wander without a dwelling-place, and beg: let them be cast out of their habitations.

11 طلبکاران تمام دارایی او را ضبط نمایند و بیگانگان هر آنچه را که او به زحمت اندوخته است، تاراج کنند.

Let [his] creditor exact all that belongs to him: and let strangers spoil his labors.

12 کسی بر او رحم نکند و برای یتیمان او دل نسوزاند.

Let him have no helper; neither let there be any one to have compassion on his fatherless children.

13 نسلش به کلی از بین برود و دیگر نامی از آنها باقی نماند.

Let his children be [given up] to utter destruction: in one generation let his name be blotted out.

14 خداوند گناهان اجدادش را به یاد آورد و گناهان مادرش را نیامرزد.

Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered before the Lord; and let not the sin of his mother be blotted out.

15 گناهان آنها در نظر خداوند همیشه بماند، اما نام و نشان آنها از روی زمین محو گردد.

Let them be before the Lord continually; and let their memorial be blotted out from the earth.

16 این دشمن من رحم نداشت. او بر فقیران و بی‌کسان ظلم می‌کرد و آنها را می‌کشت.

Because he remembered not to show mercy, but persecuted the needy and poor man, and [that] to kill him that was pricked in the heart.

17 دوست داشت مردم را نفرین کند، پس خودش نفرین شود. نمی‌خواست به مردم برکت رساند، پس خود از برکت محروم شود.

He loved cursing also, and it shall come upon him; and he took not pleasure in blessing, so it shall be removed far from him.

18 تمام وجودش به نفرین آلوده بود، پس باشد که نفرینهای او مانند آبی که می‌نوشد وارد بدنش شود و مغز استخوانهایش را بخورد؛ همچون لباس او را در بر گیرد و چون کمربند، به دور او حلقه زند.

Yes, he put on cursing as a garment, and it is come as water into his bowels, and as oil into his bones.

Let it be to him as a garment which he puts on, and as a girdle with which he girds himself continually.

20 ای خداوند، دشمنانم را که درباره من دروغ می‌گویند و مرا تهدید به مرگ می‌کنند، اینچنین مجازات کن.

This is the dealing of the Lord with those who falsely accuse me, and of them that speak evil against my soul.

21 اما ای خداوند، با من برحسب وعده خود عمل نما و به خاطر محبت عظیم خویش، مرا نجات ده،

But you, O Lord, Lord, deal [mercifully] with me, for your name's sake: for your mercy is good.

22 زیرا که من فقیر و درمانده و دل شکسته‌ام؛

Deliver me, for I am poor and needy; and my heart is troubled within me.

23 همچون سایه، رو به زوال هستم و مانند ملخ از باد رانده شده‌ام.

I am removed as a shadow in its going down: I am tossed up and down like locusts.

24 از بس روزه گرفته‌ام زانوهایم می‌لرزند و گوشت بدنم آب می‌شود.

My knees are weakened through fasting, and my flesh is changed by reason of [the lack of] oil.

25 نزد دشمنان رسوا شده‌ام. هرگاه مرا می‌بینند، سر خود را تکان می‌دهند و مسخره‌ام می‌کنند.

I became also a reproach to them: [when] they saw me they shook their heads.

26 ای خداوند، ای خدای من، مرا یاری فرما؛ مطابق محبت خود، مرا نجات بده،

Help me, O Lord my God; and save me according to your mercy.

27 تا بدخواهانم بدانند که تو نجا‌ت‌دهندۀ من هستی.

And let them know that this is your hand; and [that] you, Lord, have wrought it.

28 آنها مرا نفرین کنند، اما تو مرا برکت بده. آنها سرافکنده شوند، اما بنده تو، شادمان شود.

Let them curse, but you shall bless: let them that rise up against me be ashamed, but let your servant rejoice.

29 دشمنانم شرمسار شوند و خفت و خواری وجودشان را در بر گیرد.

Let those that falsely accuse me be clothed with shame, and let them cover themselves with their shame as with a mantle.

30 خداوند را بسیار سپاس خواهم گفت و در بین مردم او را ستایش خواهم کرد،

I will give thanks to the Lord abundantly with my mouth; and in the midst of many I will praise him.

31 زیرا او از بیچارگان پشتیبانی می‌کند و ایشان را از دست ظالمان می‌رهاند.

For he stood on the right hand of the poor, to save [me] from them that persecute my soul.
