| خداوند را شکر کنید و نام او را بخوانید؛ کارهای او را به تمام قومهای جهان اعلام نمایید. | 1 |
Alleluya. Knouleche ye to the Lord, and inwardli clepe ye his name; telle ye hise werkis among hethen men.
| در وصف او بسرایید و او را ستایش کنید؛ از کارهای شگفت‌انگیز او سخن بگویید. | 2 |
Synge ye to hym, and seie ye salm to him, and telle ye alle hise merueylis;
| ای جویندگان خداوند شادی نمایید و به نام مقدّس او فخر کنید! | 3 |
be ye preisid in his hooli name. The herte of men sekynge the Lord be glad;
| خداوند و قوت او را طالب باشید و پیوسته حضور او را بخواهید. | 4 |
seke ye the Lord, and be ye confermed; seke ye euere his face.
| عجایبی را که به عمل آورده است، به یاد آورید، و معجزات او و داوریهایی که صادر کرده است. | 5 |
Haue ye mynde on hise merueilis, whiche he dide; on his grete wondris, and domes of his mouth.
| ای فرزندان خادم او ابراهیم، ای پسران یعقوب، که برگزیدۀ او هستید. | 6 |
The seed of Abraham, his seruaunt; the sones of Jacob, his chosun man.
| او خداوند، خدای ماست، و عدالتش در تمام دنیا نمایان است. | 7 |
He is oure Lord God; hise domes ben in al the erthe.
| عهد او را همیشه به یاد داشته باشید، عهدی که با هزاران پشت بسته است؛ | 8 |
He was myndeful of his testament in to the world; of the word which he comaundide in to a thousynde generaciouns.
| عهد او را با ابراهیم، و وعدهٔ او را به اسحاق! | 9 |
Which he disposide to Abraham; and of his ooth to Isaac.
| او با یعقوب عهد بست و به اسرائیل وعده‌ای جاودانی داد. | 10 |
And he ordeynede it to Jacob in to a comaundement; and to Israel in to euerlastinge testament.
| او گفت: «سرزمین کنعان را به شما می‌بخشم تا ملک و میراثتان باشد.» | 11 |
And he seide, I shal yiue to thee the lond of Canaan; the cord of youre eritage.
| بنی‌اسرائیل قومی کوچک بودند و در آن دیار غریب؛ | 12 |
Whanne thei weren in a litil noumbre; and the comelingis of hem weren ful fewe.
| میان قومها سرگردان بودند و از مملکتی به مملکتی دیگر رانده می‌شدند. | 13 |
And thei passiden fro folk in to folk; and fro a rewme in to another puple.
| اما خداوند نگذاشت کسی به آنها صدمه برساند، و به پادشاهان هشدار داد که بر ایشان ظلم نکنند: | 14 |
He lefte not a man to anoye hem; and he chastiside kyngis for hem.
| «برگزیدگان مرا آزار ندهید! بر انبیای من دست ستم دراز نکنید!» | 15 |
Nile ye touche my cristis; and nyle ye do wickidli among my prophetis.
| خداوند در کنعان خشکسالی پدید آورد و قحطی تمام سرزمین آنجا را فرا گرفت. | 16 |
And God clepide hungir on erthe; and he wastide al the stidefastnesse of breed.
| او پیش از آن یوسف را به مصر فرستاده بود. برادران یوسف او را همچون برده فروخته بودند. | 17 |
He sente a man bifore hem; Joseph was seeld in to a seruaunt.
| پاهای یوسف را به زنجیر بستند و گردن او را در حلقهٔ آهنی گذاشتند. | 18 |
Thei maden lowe hise feet in stockis, irun passide by his soule; til the word of him cam.
| او در زندان ماند تا زمانی که پیشگویی‌اش به وقوع پیوست، و کلام خدا درستی او را ثابت کرد. | 19 |
The speche of the Lord enflawmede him;
| آنگاه، فرعون دستور داد تا یوسف را از زندان بیرون آورده، آزاد سازند. | 20 |
the king sente and vnbond hym; the prince of puplis sente and delyuerede him.
| سپس او را ناظر خانهٔ خود و حاکم سرزمین مصر نمود | 21 |
He ordeynede him the lord of his hous; and the prince of al his possessioun.
| تا بر بزرگان مملکت فرمان راند و مشایخ را حکمت آموزد. | 22 |
That he schulde lerne hise princis as him silf; and that he schulde teche hise elde men prudence.
| آنگاه یعقوب و فرزندانش به مصر، سرزمین حام، رفتند و در آن سرزمین ساکن شدند. | 23 |
And Israel entride in to Egipt; and Jacob was a comeling in the lond of Cham.
| خداوند قوم خود را در آنجا بزرگ ساخت و آنها را از دشمنانشان قویتر کرد. | 24 |
And God encreesside his puple greetli; and made hym stidefast on hise enemyes.
| اما از طرف دیگر، خداوند کاری کرد که مصری‌ها بر قوم او ظلم کنند و ایشان را بردهٔ خود سازند. | 25 |
He turnede the herte of hem, that thei hatiden his puple; and diden gile ayens hise seruauntis.
| سپس بندگان خود موسی و هارون را که برگزیده بود، نزد بنی‌اسرائیل فرستاد. | 26 |
He sent Moises, his seruaunt; thilke Aaron, whom he chees.
| موسی و هارون، کارهای شگفت‌انگیز او را در میان مصری‌ها به ظهور آوردند، و معجزات او را در زمین حام. | 27 |
He puttide in hem the wordis of hise myraclis; and of hise grete wondris in the lond of Cham.
| خدا سرزمین مصر را با تاریکی پوشانید اما مصری‌ها فرمان خدا را مبنی بر آزاد سازی قوم اسرائیل اطاعت نکردند. | 28 |
He sente derknessis, and made derk; and he made not bitter hise wordis.
| او آبهای ایشان را به خون مبدل ساخت و همهٔ ماهیانشان را کشت. | 29 |
He turnede the watris of hem in to blood; and he killide the fischis of hem.
| زمین آنها و حتی قصر فرعون پر از قورباغه شد. | 30 |
And the lond of hem yaf paddoks; in the priue places of the kyngis of hem.
| به امر خداوند انبوه پشه و مگس در سراسر مصر پدید آمد. | 31 |
God seide, and a fleische flie cam; and gnattis in alle the coostis of hem.
| به جای باران، تگرگ مرگبار و رعد و برق بر زمین مصر فرستاد | 32 |
He settide her reynes hail; fier brennynge in the lond of hem.
| و باغهای انگور و تمام درختان انجیر مصری‌ها را از بین برد. | 33 |
And he smoot the vynes of hem, and the fige trees of hem; and al to-brak the tree of the coostis of hem.
| خداوند امر فرمود و ملخهای بی‌شماری پدید آمدند و تمام گیاهان و محصولات مصر را خوردند. | 34 |
He seide, and a locuste cam; and a bruk of which was noon noumbre.
| 35 |
And it eet al the hey in the lond of hem; and it eet al the fruyt of the lond of hem.
| او همهٔ پسران ارشد مصری‌ها را کشت. | 36 |
And he killide ech the firste gendrid thing in the lond of hem; the firste fruitis of alle the trauel of hem.
| سرانجام بنی‌اسرائیل را در حالی که طلا و نقره فراوانی با خود برداشته بودند، صحیح و سالم از مصر بیرون آورد. | 37 |
And he ledde out hem with siluer and gold; and noon was sijk in the lynagis of hem.
| مصری‌ها از رفتن آنها شاد شدند، زیرا از ایشان ترسیده بودند. | 38 |
Egipt was glad in the goyng forth of hem; for the drede of hem lai on Egipcians.
| خداوند در روز بر فراز قوم اسرائیل ابر می‌گسترانید تا آنها را از حرارت آفتاب محفوظ نگاه دارد و در شب، آتش به ایشان می‌بخشید تا به آنها روشنایی دهد. | 39 |
He spredde abrood a cloude, in to the hiling of hem; and fier, that it schynede to hem bi nyyt.
| آنها گوشت خواستند و خداوند برای ایشان بلدرچین فرستاد و آنها را با نان آسمانی سیر کرد. | 40 |
Thei axiden, and a curlew cam; and he fillide hem with the breed of heuene.
| او صخره را شکافت و از آن آب جاری شد و در صحرای خشک و سوزان مثل رودخانه روان گردید. | 41 |
He brak a stoon, and watris flowiden; floodis yeden forth in the drye place.
| زیرا خداوند این وعدهٔ مقدّس را به خدمتگزار خویش ابراهیم داده بود که نسل او را برکت دهد. | 42 |
For he was myndeful of his hooli word; which he hadde to Abraham, his child.
| پس او قوم برگزیدهٔ خود را در حالی که با شادی سرود می‌خواندند از مصر بیرون آورد، | 43 |
And he ledde out his puple in ful out ioiyng; and hise chosun men in gladnesse.
| و سرزمین قومهای دیگر را با تمام محصولاتشان به آنها بخشید | 44 |
And he yaf to hem the cuntreis of hethen men; and thei hadden in possessioun the trauels of puplis.
| تا در آن سرزمین نسبت به وی وفادار مانده، از دستورهایش اطاعت نمایند. سپاس بر خداوند! | 45 |
That thei kepe hise iustifiyngis; and seke his lawe.
