امثال 2
| ای پسرم، اگر به سخنانم گوش بدهی و دستورهای مرا اطاعت کنی، | 1 |
My son, if thou wilt receive my sayings, and, my commandments, wilt treasure up by thee;
| به حکمت گوش فرا دهی و طالب دانایی باشی، | 2 |
So that thou direct, unto wisdom, thine ear, bend thy heart, unto understanding;
| و اگر به دنبال فهم و بصیرت بگردی | 3 |
Yea if, for understanding, thou cry aloud, for knowledge, utter thy voice;
| و آن را مانند نقره و گنجهای پنهان بطلبی تا به چنگ آری، | 4 |
If thou seek her as silver, and, like hid treasure, thou search for her,
| آنگاه خدا را خواهی شناخت و اهمیت خداترسی را خواهی آموخت. | 5 |
Then, shalt thou understand the reverence of Yahweh, and, the knowledge of God, shalt thou find.
| خداوند بخشندهٔ حکمت است و سخنان دهان او به انسان فهم و دانش می‌بخشد. | 6 |
For, Yahweh, giveth wisdom, out of his mouth, knowledge and understanding;
| او به درستکاران حکمت می‌بخشد و از آنها محافظت می‌نماید. | 7 |
Yea he treasureth, for the upright, safety, A shield [is he] to them who walk in integrity,
| او از اشخاص با انصاف و خداشناس حمایت می‌کند. | 8 |
To him that observeth the paths of justice, yea, the way of his men of lovingkindness, he doth guard.
| اگر به سخنانم گوش بدهی، خواهی فهمید که عدالت، انصاف و صداقت چیست و راه درست کدام است. | 9 |
Then, shalt thou understand righteousness and justice, and equity—every noble course.
| حکمت جزو وجود تو خواهد شد و دانش به تو لذت خواهد بخشید. | 10 |
When wisdom entereth thy heart, and, knowledge, to thy soul, is sweet,
| بصیرت و فهم تو، از تو محافظت خواهد کرد. | 11 |
Discretion, shall watch over thee, understanding, shall preserve thee: —
| و تو را از افراد بدکار دور نگه خواهد داشت افرادی که سخنانشان انسان را منحرف می‌سازد، | 12 |
To rescue thee from the way of the wrongful, from the man that speaketh perverse things;
| افرادی که از راه راست برگشته‌اند و در ظلمت گناه زندگی می‌کنند، | 13 |
From them who forsake the paths of rectitude, to walk in the ways of darkness;
| افرادی که از کارهای نادرست لذت می‌برند و از کجروی و شرارت خرسند می‌شوند، | 14 |
Who rejoice to do wrong, exult in the perversities of the wrongful;
| و هر کاری که انجام می‌دهند از روی حقه‌بازی و نادرستی است. | 15 |
Whose paths, are twisted, and they are tortuous in their tracks:
| حکمت می‌تواند تو را از زنان بدکاره و سخنان فریبنده‌شان نجات دهد. | 16 |
To rescue thee, from the woman that is a stranger, from the female unknown, who with her speeches seduceth;
| این گونه زنان، شوهران خود را رها نموده، پیمان مقدّس زناشویی را شکسته‌اند. | 17 |
Who forsaketh the friend of her youth, and, the covenant of her God, hath forgotten;
| مردانی که به خانه‌های چنین زنانی قدم می‌گذارند، به سوی مرگ و نیستی پیش می‌روند و به مسیر حیات باز نمی‌گردند. | 18 |
For she hath appointed, unto death, her house, and unto the shades, her courses;
| 19 |
None who go in unto her, come back, neither attain they unto the paths of life:
| اما تو راه خداشناسان را پیش بگیر و از راه راست منحرف نشو، | 20 |
To the end that thou walk in the way of good men, and, the paths of the righteous, that thou observe.
| زیرا درستکاران و خداشناسان در زمین زندگی خواهند کرد، | 21 |
For, the upright, shall abide on the earth, —and, the men of integrity, shall remain therein;
| ولی بدکاران و خدانشناسان از زمین ریشه‌کن خواهند شد. | 22 |
But, the lawless, out of the earth, shall be cut off, and, traitors, shall they tear away therefrom.
