نحمیا 5

1 در این وقت جنجال بزرگی بر پا شد. عده‌ای از مردان و زنان از یهودیان همنژاد خود شکایت کردند.

and to be cry [the] people and woman: wife their great: large to(wards) brother: compatriot their [the] Jew

2 بعضی از آنها می‌گفتند: «تعداد افراد خانوادهٔ ما زیاد است و ما نان کافی نداریم که بخوریم و زنده بمانیم.»

and there which to say son: child our and daughter our we many and to take: take grain and to eat and to live

3 عده‌ای دیگر می‌گفتند: «ما مجبوریم مزرعه، باغ انگور و حتی خانه خود را گرو بگذاریم تا بتوانیم گندم تهیه کنیم و از گرسنگی تلف نشویم.»

and there which to say land: country our and vineyard our and house: home our we to pledge and to take: take grain in/on/with famine

4 برخی دیگر نیز می‌گفتند: «ما پول قرض کرده‌ایم تا مالیات مزرعه و تاکستان خود را به پادشاه بپردازیم.

and there which to say to borrow silver: money to/for tribute [the] king land: country our and vineyard our

5 ما برادران ایشانیم و فرزندان ما هم مثل فرزندان ایشان یهودی‌اند، اما ما مجبوریم بچه‌های خود را بفروشیم. قبلاً بعضی از دختران خود را فروخته‌ایم و پول نداریم آنها را بازخرید کنیم، چون مزرعه‌ها و تاکستانهای ما هم در گرو است.»

and now like/as flesh brother: compatriot our flesh our like/as son: child their son: child our and behold we to subdue [obj] son: child our and [obj] daughter our to/for servant/slave and there from daughter our to subdue and nothing to/for god: power hand: power our and land: country our and vineyard our to/for another

6 وقتی این شکایت را شنیدم بسیار خشمگین شدم

and to be incensed to/for me much like/as as which to hear: hear [obj] outcry their and [obj] [the] word [the] these

7 و پس از فکر کردن، سران و بزرگان قوم را سرزنش کرده، گفتم: «چرا بر برادران یهودی خود ظلم می‌کنید؟» سپس عدهٔ زیادی را جمع کردم و این یهودیان را به پای میز محاکمه کشیده،

and to advise heart my upon me and to contend [emph?] with [the] noble and with [the] ruler and to say [emph?] to/for them interest man: anyone in/on/with brother: compatriot his you(m. p.) (to lift: aid *Q(K)*) and to give: make upon them assembly great: large

8 گفتم: «ما تا آنجا که توانسته‌ایم برادران یهودی خود را که به اسارت فروخته شده بودند بازخرید کرده‌ایم. حال، شما ایشان را مجبور می‌کنید خود را به شما بفروشند. مگر ممکن است یک یهودی به برادر یهودی خود فروخته شود؟» آنها برای دفاع از خود جوابی نداشتند.

9 در ادامهٔ حرفهایم گفتم: «کاری که شما می‌کنید خوب نیست! مگر از خدا نمی‌ترسید؟ چرا می‌خواهید کاری کنید که دشمنان، ما را مسخره کنند.

10 من و برادران و افرادم به برادران یهودی، بدون سود پول و غله قرض می‌دهیم. از شما هم می‌خواهم از رباخواری دست بردارید.

and also I brother: male-sibling my and youth my to lend in/on/with them silver: money and grain to leave: forsake please [obj] [the] interest [the] this

11 مزرعه‌ها، تاکستانها، باغهای زیتون و خانه‌هایشان را و نیز سودی را که از ایشان گرفته‌اید همین امروز پس بدهید.»

to return: return please to/for them like/as [the] day land: country their vineyard their olive their and house: home their and hundred [the] silver: money and [the] grain [the] new wine and [the] oil which you(m. p.) to lend in/on/with them

12 سران و بزرگان جواب دادند: «آنچه گفتی انجام خواهیم داد. املاکشان را به ایشان پس خواهیم داد و از ایشان چیزی مطالبه نخواهیم کرد.» آنگاه کاهنان را احضار کردم و از سران و بزرگان خواستم در حضور ایشان قسم بخورند که این کار را خواهند کرد.

and to say to return: rescue and from them not to seek so to make: do like/as as which you(m. s.) to say and to call: call to [obj] [the] priest and to swear them to/for to make: do like/as Chronicles [the] this

13 سپس شال کمر خود را باز کرده، تکان دادم و گفتم: «خدا اینچنین شما را از خانه و دارایی‌تان بتکاند، اگر به قول خود وفا نکنید.» تمام قوم با صدای بلند گفتند: «آمین!» و از خداوند تشکر کردند و سران و بزرگان نیز به قول خود وفا کردند.

14 در ضمن، در طول دوازده سالی که من حاکم یهودا بودم، یعنی از سال بیستم تا سال سی و دوم سلطنت اردشیر پادشاه پارس، نه خودم و نه برادرانم، از غذای مخصوص حاکمان استفاده نکردیم.

15 حاکمان قبلی، علاوه بر خوراک و شرابی که از مردم می‌گرفتند، روزی چهل مثقال نقره نیز از ایشان مطالبه می‌کردند و مأموران آنها نیز بر مردم ظلم می‌کردند، ولی من هرگز چنین کاری نکردم، زیرا از خدا می‌ترسیدم.

16 من در کار ساختن حصار شهر مشغول بودم و مزرعه‌ای برای خود نخریدم. از مأمورانم خواستم که وقت خود را صرف تعمیر حصار شهر کنند.

and also in/on/with work [the] wall [the] this to strengthen: persevere and land: country not to buy and all youth my to gather there upon [the] work

17 از این گذشته، علاوه بر مهمانانی که از قومهای دیگر داشتم، هر روز صد و پنجاه نفر از مردم یهود و بزرگانشان سر سفرهٔ من خوراک می‌خوردند.

18 هر روز یک گاو، شش گوسفند پرواری و تعداد زیادی مرغ برای خوراک، و هر ده روز یکبار، مقدار زیادی از انواع گوناگون شرابها تدارک می‌دیدم. با وجود این، هرگز از مردم نخواستم سهمیهٔ مخصوص را که به حاکمان تعلق داشت به من بدهند، زیرا بار این مردم به قدر کافی سنگین بود.

and which to be to make: do to/for day one cattle one flock six to purify and bird to make: do to/for me and between ten day in/on/with all wine to/for to multiply and with this food: allowance [the] governor not to seek for to honor: heavy [the] service upon [the] people [the] this

19 ای خدای من، مرا به یاد آور و به سبب آنچه برای این قوم کرده‌ام مرا برکت ده.
