| هنگامی که به حوالی اورشلیم، به نزدیکی بیت‌فاجی و بیت‌عنیا واقع در کوه زیتون رسیدند، عیسی دو نفر از شاگردان خود را جلوتر فرستاد | 1 |
When they had almost reached Jerusalem, as far as Bethphage and Bethany, near the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent on two of his disciples.
| و به ایشان فرمود: «به دهکده‌ای که در مقابل شماست بروید. هنگامی که وارد شدید، کرّهٔ الاغی را خواهید دید که بسته‌اند. تا به حال کسی بر آن سوار نشده است. آن را باز کنید و به اینجا بیاورید. | 2 |
‘Go to the village facing you,’ he said, ‘and, as soon as you get there, you will find a foal tethered, which no one has ever ridden; untie it, and bring it.
| و اگر کسی پرسید:”چه می‌کنید؟“بگویید:”خداوند لازمش دارد و بی‌درنگ آن را پس خواهد فرستاد.“» | 3 |
And, if anyone says to you “Why are you doing that?”, say “The Master wants it, and will be sure to send it back here at once.”’
| آن دو شاگرد رفتند و کره الاغ را یافتند که در کوچه‌ای، کنار درِ خانه‌ای بسته شده بود. وقتی کره را باز می‌کردند، | 4 |
The two disciples went, and, finding a foal tethered outside a door in the street, they untied it.
| عده‌ای که در آن نزدیکی ایستاده بودند، پرسیدند: «چه می‌کنید؟ چرا کره را باز می‌کنید؟» | 5 |
Some of the bystanders said to them, ‘What are you doing, untying the foal?’
| پس آنچه عیسی فرموده بود، گفتند. آنان نیز اجازه دادند که کره را ببرند. | 6 |
And the two disciples answered as Jesus had told them; and they allowed them to go.
| کُرّه را نزد عیسی آوردند و شاگردان رداهای خود را بر پشت آن انداختند تا او سوار شود. | 7 |
Then they brought the foal to Jesus, and, when they had laid their cloaks on it, he seated himself on it.
| عدۀ زیادی از مردم نیز رداهای خود را در مقابل او، روی جاده پهن می‌کردند و عده‌ای نیز شاخه‌هایی را که در مزارع بریده بودند، جلوی او روی جاده پهن می‌کردند. | 8 |
Many of the people spread their cloaks on the road, while some strewed boughs which they had cut from the fields;
| مردم از هر سو او را احاطه کرده بودند و فریاد برمی‌آوردند: «هوشیعانا!» «مبارک است آن که به نام خداوند می‌آید!» | 9 |
and those who led the way, as well as those who followed, kept shouting, ‘God save him! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!
| «مبارک است سلطنت پدر ما داوود که فرا می‌رسد!» «هوشیعانا در عرش برین!» | 10 |
Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father David! God save him from on high!’
| به این ترتیب، عیسی وارد اورشلیم شد و به معبد رفت. او با دقت همه چیز را زیر نظر گرفت و بیرون آمد. هنگام غروب، شهر را ترک گفت و همراه دوازده شاگرد خود به بیت‌عنیا رفت. | 11 |
Jesus entered Jerusalem, and went into the Temple Courts; and, after looking round at everything, as it was already late, he went out to Bethany with the Twelve.
| صبح روز بعد، هنگامی که از بیت‌عنیا برمی‌گشتند، عیسی گرسنه شد. | 12 |
The next day, after they had left Bethany, Jesus became hungry;
| کمی دورتر درخت انجیری دید که برگ داشت؛ پس به طرف آن رفت تا شاید انجیری پیدا کند. اما جز برگ چیز دیگری بر درخت نیافت، چون هنوز فصل میوه نرسیده بود. | 13 |
and, noticing a fig tree at a distance in leaf, he went to it to see if by any chance he could find something on it; but, on coming up to it, he found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs.
| عیسی به درخت فرمود: «باشد که دیگر هرگز کسی از تو میوه نخورد!» و شاگردانش این را شنیدند. (aiōn ) | 14 |
So, addressing the tree, he exclaimed, ‘May no one ever again eat of your fruit!’ And his disciples heard what he said. (aiōn )
| هنگامی که بار دیگر وارد اورشلیم شدند، عیسی به معبد رفت و آنانی را که در آنجا مشغول خرید و فروش بودند، بیرون راند و بساط صرافان و کبوترفروشان را واژگون ساخت، | 15 |
They came to Jerusalem. Jesus went into the Temple Courts, and began to drive out those who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers, and the seats of the pigeon-dealers,
| و نگذاشت کسی با کالایی وارد محوطهٔ معبد شود. | 16 |
and would not allow anyone to carry anything across the Temple Courts.
| سپس به مردم گفت: «در کتب مقدّس نوشته شده که”خانهٔ من خانهٔ دعا برای همۀ قومها خوانده خواهد شد“، اما شما آن را لانۀ دزدان ساخته‌اید.» | 17 |
Then he began to teach. ‘Does not scripture say,’ he asked, ‘“My house will be called a house of prayer for all the nations”? But you have made it a den of robbers.’
| هنگامی که کاهنان اعظم و علمای دین از کار عیسی باخبر شدند، در پی فرصت برای کشتن او برآمدند. اما از او می‌ترسیدند، زیرا همه از تعالیم او شگفت‌زده بودند. | 18 |
Now the chief priests and the teachers of the Law heard this and began to look for some way of putting Jesus to death; for they were afraid of him, since all the people were greatly impressed by his teaching.
| عصر آن روز، مانند روزهای دیگر از شهر بیرون رفتند. | 19 |
As soon as evening fell, Jesus and his disciples went out of the city.
| صبح روز بعد، وقتی به اورشلیم بازمی‌گشتند، شاگردان درخت انجیر را دیدند که از ریشه خشک شده است. | 20 |
As they passed by early in the morning, they noticed that the fig tree was withered up from the roots.
| پطرس به خاطر آورد که عیسی روز قبل، درخت را نفرین کرده بود. پس با تعجب گفت: «استاد نگاه کنید! درخت انجیری که نفرین کردید، خشک شده است!» | 21 |
Then Peter recalled what had occurred. ‘Look, Rabbi,’ he exclaimed, ‘the fig tree which you doomed is withered up!’
| عیسی گفت: «به خدا ایمان داشته باشید. | 22 |
‘Have faith in God!’ replied Jesus.
| براستی به شما می‌گویم: اگر کسی به این کوه بگوید،”از جا کنده شو و به دریا افکنده شو“، و در دل خود شک نکند، بلکه ایمان داشته باشد که آنچه می‌گوید روی خواهد داد، برای او انجام خواهد شد. | 23 |
‘I tell you that if anyone should say to this hill “Be lifted up and hurled into the sea!”, without ever a doubt in his mind, but in the faith that what he says will be done, he would find that it would be.
| خوب گوش کنید: هر چه در دعا بخواهید، ایمان داشته باشید که آن را یافته‌اید، و از آنِ شما خواهد بود. | 24 |
And therefore I say to you “Have faith that whatever you ask for in prayer is already granted you, and you will find that it will be.”
| «ولی وقتی دعا می‌کنید، اگر نسبت به کسی کینه‌ای در دل دارید، او را ببخشید، تا پدر آسمانی شما نیز گناهان شما را ببخشد. | 25 |
‘And, whenever you stand up to pray, forgive any grievance that you have against anyone, so that your Father who is in heaven also may forgive you your offences.’
| امّا اگر شما نبخشید، پدر آسمانی شما نیز گناهان شما را نخواهد بخشید.» | 26 |
| آنها بار دیگر وارد اورشلیم شدند. به محض اینکه عیسی قدم به معبد گذاشت، کاهنان اعظم و علمای دین و مشایخ دور او را گرفتند | 27 |
They came to Jerusalem again. While Jesus was walking about in the Temple Courts, the chief priests, the teachers of the Law, and the elders came up to him.
| و پرسیدند: «با چه اختیاری همۀ این کارها را انجام می‌دهی؟ چه کسی حق انجام آنها را به تو داده است؟» | 28 |
‘What authority have you to do these things?’ they said. ‘Who gave you the authority to do them?’
| عیسی فرمود: «من به شرطی جواب شما را می‌دهم که اول به سؤال من جواب دهید. | 29 |
‘I will put one question to you,’ said Jesus. ‘Answer me that, and then I will tell you what authority I have to act as I do.
| آیا اقتدار یحیی برای تعمید دادن مردم از آسمان بود یا از انسان؟ جواب مرا بدهید.» | 30 |
It is about John’s baptism. Was it of divine or human origin? Answer me that.’
| ایشان درباره این موضوع با یکدیگر مشورت کرده، گفتند: «اگر بگوییم از سوی خدا فرستاده شده بود، خود را به دام انداخته‌ایم، زیرا خواهد پرسید: پس چرا به او ایمان نیاوردید؟ | 31 |
They began arguing together. ‘If we say “divine,” he will say “Why then didn’t you believe him?”
| و اگر بگوییم از انسان بود، ممکن است مردم علیه ما قیام کنند.» زیرا همۀ مردم یحیی را پیامبری راستین می‌دانستند. | 32 |
Yet can we say “human”?’ They were afraid of the people, for everyone regarded John as undoubtedly a prophet.
| سرانجام گفتند: «ما نمی‌دانیم!» عیسی فرمود: «پس در این صورت من هم به سؤال شما جواب نمی‌دهم.» | 33 |
So their answer to Jesus was – ‘We do not know.’ ‘Then I,’ replied Jesus, ‘refuse to tell you what authority I have to do these things.’
