لوقا 2
| در آن زمان، اوگوستوس، قیصر روم، فرمان داد تا مردم را در تمام سرزمینهای تحت سُلطه امپراتوری‌اش سرشماری کنند. | 1 |
But it came to pass in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus, that a census should be made of all the habitable world.
| این اولین سرشماری زمانی صورت گرفت که کورینیوس بر سوریه فرمان می‌راند. | 2 |
The census itself first took place when Cyrenius had the government of Syria.
| برای شرکت در سرشماری، هر شخص می‌بایست به شهر آبا و اجدادی خود می‌رفت. | 3 |
And all went to be inscribed in the census roll, each to his own city:
| از این رو، یوسف نیز از شهر ناصره در دیار جلیل، به زادگاه داوود پادشاه یعنی بیت‌لحم در دیار یهودیه رفت زیرا او از نسل داوود پادشاه بود. | 4 |
and Joseph also went up from Galilee out of the city Nazareth to Judaea, to David's city, the which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David,
| مریم نیز که نامزد یوسف بود و آخرین روزهای بارداری خود را می‌گذراند، همراه او رفت تا ثبت نام کند. | 5 |
to be inscribed in the census roll with Mary who was betrothed to him [as his] wife, she being great with child.
| هنگامی که در بیت‌لحم بودند، وقت وضع حمل مریم فرا رسید، | 6 |
And it came to pass, while they were there, the days of her giving birth [to her child] were fulfilled,
| و نخستین فرزند خود را که پسر بود، به دنیا آورد و او را در قنداقی پیچید و در آخوری خوابانید، زیرا در مسافرخانهٔ آنجا برای ایشان جا نبود. | 7 |
and she brought forth her first-born son, and wrapped him up in swaddling-clothes and laid him in the manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
| در دشتهای اطراف آن شهر، چوپانانی بودند که شبانگاه از گله‌های خود مراقبت می‌کردند. | 8 |
And there were shepherds in that country abiding without, and keeping watch by night over their flock.
| آن شب، ناگهان فرشته‌ای در میان ایشان ظاهر شد و نور جلال خداوند در اطرافشان تابید و ترس همه را فرا گرفت. | 9 |
And lo, an angel of [the] Lord was there by them, and [the] glory of [the] Lord shone around them, and they feared [with] great fear.
| اما فرشته به ایشان اطمینان خاطر داد و گفت: «مترسید! من حامل مژده‌ای برای شما هستم، مژده‌ای شادی‌بخش برای همهٔ مردم! | 10 |
And the angel said to them, Fear not, for behold, I announce to you glad tidings of great joy, which shall be to all the people;
| و آن این است که همین امروز در شهر داوود، نجات‌دهنده‌ای برای شما زاده شد، همان که مسیح و خداوند است. | 11 |
for to-day a Saviour has been born to you in David's city, who is Christ [the] Lord.
| علامت درستی سخن من این است که نوزادی را خواهید دید که در قنداق پیچیده و در آخور خوابانیده‌اند.» | 12 |
And this is the sign to you: ye shall find a babe wrapped in swaddling-clothes, and lying in a manger.
| ناگهان گروه بیشماری از فرشتگان آسمانی به آن فرشته پیوستند. آنان در ستایش خدا، می‌سرائیدند و می‌گفتند: | 13 |
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God and saying,
| «خدا را در آسمانها جلال باد و بر زمین، در میان مردمی که خدا را خشنود می‌سازند، آرامش و صفا برقرار باد!» | 14 |
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good pleasure in men.
| چون فرشتگان به آسمان بازگشتند، چوپانان به یکدیگر گفتند: «بیایید به بیت‌لحم برویم و این واقعهٔ عجیب را که خداوند خبرش را به ما داده است، به چشم ببینیم.» | 15 |
And it came to pass, as the angels departed from them into heaven, that the shepherds said to one another, Let us make our way then now as far as Bethlehem, and let us see this thing that is come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us.
| پس با شتاب به بیت‌لحم رفتند و مریم و یوسف را پیدا کردند. آنگاه نوزاد را دیدند که در آخوری خوابیده است. | 16 |
And they came with haste, and found both Mary and Joseph, and the babe lying in the manger;
| چوپانان بی‌درنگ ماجرا را به گوش همه رساندند و سخنانی را که فرشته درباره نوزاد گفته بود، بازگو کردند. | 17 |
and having seen [it] they made known about the country the thing which had been said to them concerning this child.
| هر که گفته‌های آنان را می‌شنید، حیرت‌زده می‌شد. | 18 |
And all who heard [it] wondered at the things said to them by the shepherds.
| اما مریم، تمام این رویدادها را در دل خود نگاه می‌داشت و اغلب دربارهٔ آنها به فکر فرو می‌رفت. | 19 |
But Mary kept all these things [in her mind], pondering [them] in her heart.
| پس چوپانان به صحرا نزد گله‌های خود بازگشتند و به سبب آنچه مطابق گفتهٔ فرشتگان دیده و شنیده بودند، خدا را سپاس می‌گفتند. | 20 |
And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all things which they had heard and seen, as it had been said to them.
| در روز هشتم تولد نوزاد، در مراسم ختنهٔ او، نامش را عیسی گذاشتند، یعنی همان نامی که فرشته پیش از باردار شدن مریم، برای او تعیین کرده بود. | 21 |
And when eight days were fulfilled for circumcising him, his name was called Jesus, which was the name given by the angel before he had been conceived in the womb.
| روزی که قرار بود والدین عیسی به اورشلیم، به خانۀ خدا بروند و مطابق شریعت موسی، مراسم طهارت خود را بجا آورند، عیسی را نیز به آنجا بردند تا به خداوند وقف کنند؛ | 22 |
And when the days were fulfilled for their purifying according to the law of Moses, they brought him to Jerusalem to present [him] to the Lord
| زیرا در شریعت آمده بود که پسر ارشد هر خانواده باید وقف خداوند گردد. | 23 |
(as it is written in the law of [the] Lord: Every male that opens the womb shall be called holy to the Lord),
| پس والدین عیسی برای طهارت خود، قربانی لازم را تقدیم کردند، که مطابق شریعت می‌بایست دو قمری یا دو جوجه کبوتر باشد. | 24 |
and to offer a sacrifice according to what is said in the law of [the] Lord: A pair of turtle doves, or two young pigeons.
| در آن زمان مردی صالح، خداترس و پر از روح‌القدس، به نام شمعون، در اورشلیم زندگی می‌کرد. او در انتظار بود تا مسیح ظهور کند و اسرائیل را نجات بخشد. | 25 |
And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon; and this man was just and pious, awaiting the consolation of Israel, and [the] Holy Spirit was upon him.
| روح‌القدس بر او آشکار ساخته بود که تا مسیح موعود را نبیند، چشم از جهان فرو نخواهد بست. | 26 |
And it was divinely communicated to him by the Holy Spirit, that he should not see death before he should see [the] Lord's Christ.
| آن روز، روح‌القدس او را هدایت کرد که به خانۀ خدا برود؛ و هنگامی که یوسف و مریم، عیسای کوچک را آوردند تا مطابق شریعت، به خدا وقف کنند، | 27 |
And he came in the Spirit into the temple; and as the parents brought in the child Jesus that they might do for him according to the custom of the law,
| شمعون، او را در آغوش کشید و خدا را ستایش کرد و گفت: | 28 |
he received him into his arms, and blessed God, and said,
| «خداوندا، اکنون دیگر می‌توانم با خیالی آسوده چشم از جهان فرو بندم، همان‌طور که قول داده بودی. | 29 |
Lord, now thou lettest thy bondman go, according to thy word, in peace;
| با چشمان خود نجات تو را دیده‌ام، | 30 |
for mine eyes have seen thy salvation,
| نجاتی که برای همۀ ملتها آماده کرده‌ای. | 31 |
which thou hast prepared before the face of all peoples;
| او همچون نوری بر دیگر قومها خواهد تابید و مایه سربلندی قوم تو، بنی‌اسرائیل، خواهد شد!» | 32 |
a light for revelation of [the] Gentiles and [the] glory of thy people Israel.
| یوسف و مریم مات و مبهوت ایستاده بودند و از آنچه درباره عیسی گفته می‌شد، به شگفت آمده بودند. | 33 |
And his father and mother wondered at the things which were said concerning him.
| اما شمعون برای ایشان دعای خیر کرد. سپس به مریم، مادر کودک گفت: «این کودک تعیین شده تا باعث افتادن و برخاستن بسیاری از بنی‌اسرائیل شود، و آیتی باشد که بر علیه‌اش سخن بگویند، | 34 |
And Simeon blessed them, and said to Mary his mother, Lo, this [child] is set for the fall and rising up of many in Israel, and for a sign spoken against;
| و بدین طور افکار دلهای بسیاری آشکار خواهد شد. شمشیری نیز به قلب تو فرو خواهد رفت!» | 35 |
(and even a sword shall go through thine own soul; ) so that [the] thoughts may be revealed from many hearts.
| در معبد زنی می‌زیست به نام آنّا، دختر فنوئیل از قبیلهٔ اشیر که بسیار سالخورده بود. او پس از هفت سال زندگی زناشویی، شوهرش را از دست داده بود | 36 |
And there was a prophetess, Anna, daughter of Phanuel, of [the] tribe of Asher, who was far advanced in years, having lived with [her] husband seven years from her virginity,
| و تا هشتاد و چهار سالگی همچنان بیوه مانده بود. آنّا هرگز معبد را ترک نمی‌کرد، بلکه شب و روز، با روزه و دعا به عبادت مشغول بود. | 37 |
and herself a widow up to eighty-four years; who did not depart from the temple, serving night and day with fastings and prayers;
| هنگامی که شمعون با یوسف و مریم سخن می‌گفت، آنّا نیز وارد شده، خدا را شکر نمود و به تمام کسانی که چشم به راه ظهور رهایی‌دهندۀ اورشلیم بودند، دربارۀ آن طفل سخن گفت. | 38 |
and she coming up the same hour gave praise to the Lord, and spoke of him to all those who waited for redemption in Jerusalem.
| یوسف و مریم، پس از اجرای مراسم دینی، به شهر خود ناصره در ایالت جلیل، بازگشتند. | 39 |
And when they had completed all things according to the law of [the] Lord, they returned to Galilee to their own city Nazareth.
| در آنجا، عیسی رشد کرد و بزرگ شد. او سرشار از حکمت بود و فیض خدا بر او قرار داشت. | 40 |
And the child grew and waxed strong [in spirit], filled with wisdom, and God's grace was upon him.
| والدین عیسی هر سال برای شرکت در مراسم عید پِسَح به اورشلیم می‌رفتند. | 41 |
And his parents went yearly to Jerusalem at the feast of the passover.
| وقتی عیسی دوازده ساله شد، طبق رسم یهود، او را نیز همراه خود بردند. | 42 |
And when he was twelve years old, and they went up [to Jerusalem] according to the custom of the feast
| پس از پایان ایام عید، عازم ناصره شدند. اما عیسی بدون اطلاع یوسف و مادرش، در اورشلیم ماند. | 43 |
and had completed the days, as they returned, the boy Jesus remained behind in Jerusalem, and his parents knew not [of it];
| آنان روز اول متوجهٔ غیبت او نشدند، چون فکر می‌کردند که او در میان همسفرانشان است. اما وقتی شب شد و دیدند که عیسی هنوز نزد ایشان نیامده، در میان بستگان و دوستان خود به دنبال او گشتند، | 44 |
but, supposing him to be in the company that journeyed together, they went a day's journey, and sought him among their relations and acquaintances:
| اما او را نیافتند. پس مجبور شدند به اورشلیم بازگردند و او را جستجو کنند. | 45 |
and not having found him they returned to Jerusalem seeking him.
| سرانجام، پس از سه روز جستجو، او را در صحن معبد یافتند که در میان علمای دین نشسته بود و به سخنان آنها گوش می‌داد و از آنها سؤال می‌کرد. | 46 |
And it came to pass, after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers and hearing them and asking them questions.
| هر که سخنان او را می‌شنید، از فهم و جوابهای او به حیرت فرو می‌رفت. | 47 |
And all who heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers.
| والدینش وقتی او را دیدند، متحیّر شدند! مادرش به او گفت: «پسرم، چرا با ما چنین کردی؟ من و پدرت، دلواپس بودیم و همه جا را به دنبالت گشتیم!» | 48 |
And when they saw him they were amazed: and his mother said to him, Child, why hast thou dealt thus with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee distressed.
| عیسی پاسخ داد: «چه نیازی بود به دنبالم بگردید؟ مگر نمی‌دانستید که من باید در خانۀ پدرم باشم؟» | 49 |
And he said to them, Why [is it] that ye have sought me? did ye not know that I ought to be [occupied] in my Father's business?
| اما آنان منظور عیسی را درک نکردند. | 50 |
And they understood not the thing that he said to them.
| آنگاه عیسی به همراه یوسف و مریم به ناصره بازگشت و همواره مطیع ایشان بود. مادرش نیز تمام این امور را در خاطر خود نگاه می‌داشت. | 51 |
And he went down with them and came to Nazareth, and he was in subjection to them. And his mother kept all these things in her heart.
| اما عیسی در حکمت و قامت رشد می‌کرد و مورد پسند خدا و مردم بود. | 52 |
And Jesus advanced in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and men.
