لوقا 19
| عیسی وارد اریحا شد و از میان شهر می‌گذشت. | 1 |
And [Jesus] entered and passed through Jericho.
| در اریحا شخص ثروتمندی زندگی می‌کرد، به نام «زَکّی» که رئیس باجگیران بود؛ | 2 |
And, behold, [there was] a man named Zacchæus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich.
| او می‌خواست ببیند عیسی کیست، اما به سبب ازدحام مردم نمی‌توانست، چون کوتاه‌قد بود. | 3 |
And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature.
| پس جلو دوید و از درخت چناری که در کنار راه بود، بالا رفت تا از آنجا عیسی را ببیند. | 4 |
And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass that [way].
| وقتی عیسی نزدیک درخت رسید، به بالا نگاه کرد و او را به نام صدا زد و فرمود: «زَکّی، بشتاب و پایین بیا! چون امروز باید به خانه تو بیایم و مهمانت باشم!» | 5 |
And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchæus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house.
| زَکّی با عجله پایین آمد و با هیجان و شادی، عیسی را به خانه خود برد. | 6 |
And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully.
| تمام کسانی که این واقعه را دیدند، گله و شکایت سر داده، با ناراحتی می‌گفتند: «او میهمان یک گناهکار بدنام شده است!» | 7 |
And when they saw [it], they all murmured, saying, That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner.
| اما زَکّی در حضور عیسای خداوند ایستاد و گفت: «سَروَر من، اینک نصف دارایی خود را به فقرا خواهم بخشید، و اگر از کسی مالیات اضافی گرفته باشم، چهار برابر آن را پس خواهم داد!» | 8 |
And Zacchæus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore [him] fourfold.
| عیسی به او فرمود: «این نشان می‌دهد که امروز نجات به اهل این خانه روی آورده است، زیرا این مرد نیز یکی از فرزندان ابراهیم است. | 9 |
And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.
| زیرا پسر انسان آمده تا گمشده را بجوید و نجات بخشد.» | 10 |
For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
| هنگامی که عیسی به اورشلیم نزدیک می‌شد، داستانی تعریف کرد تا نظر بعضی اشخاص را درباره ملکوت خدا اصلاح کند، چون تصور می‌کردند که ملکوت خدا همان موقع آغاز خواهد شد. | 11 |
And as they heard these things, he added and spake a parable, because he was nigh to Jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of God should immediately appear.
| پس چنین فرمود: «روزی نجیب‌زاده‌ای به سرزمینی دوردست احضار شد تا به مقام پادشاهی منصوب شود و به سرزمین خود برگردد. | 12 |
He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.
| اما پیش از عزیمت، ده نفر از دستیاران خود را فراخواند و به هر یک، سکه‌ای طلا داد تا در غیاب او به تجارت بپردازند. | 13 |
And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.
| اما برخی از اهالی آن ایالت که با او مخالف بودند، نمایندگانی به حضور امپراتور فرستادند تا اطلاع دهند که مایل نیستند آن نجیب‌زاده بر آنان حکمرانی کند. | 14 |
But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this [man] to reign over us.
| «اما آن شخص به مقام پادشاهی منصوب شد و به ایالت خود بازگشت و دستیاران خود را فرا خواند تا ببیند با پولش چه کرده‌اند و چه مقدار سود به دست آورده‌اند. | 15 |
And it came to pass, that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading.
| «پس اولی آمد و گفت:”سرورم، سکۀ تو ده سکۀ دیگر سود آورده است.“ | 16 |
Then came the first, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds.
| «پادشاه گفت:”آفرین بر تو، ای خدمتگزار خوب! چون در کار و مسئولیت کوچکی که به تو سپردم، امین بودی، حکمرانی ده شهر را به تو واگذار می‌کنم!“ | 17 |
And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities.
| «نفر دوم نیز گزارش داد:”سرورم، سکۀ تو پنج سکۀ دیگر سود آورده است.“ | 18 |
And the second came, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained five pounds.
| «به او نیز گفت:”بسیار خوب! تو نیز حاکم پنج شهر باش!“ | 19 |
And he said likewise to him, Be thou also over five cities.
| «اما سومی همان مبلغی را که در ابتدا گرفته بود، بدون کم و زیاد پس آورد و گفت:”سرورم، من سکۀ تو را در پارچه‌ای پیچیدم و در جای امنی نگاه داشتم. | 20 |
And another came, saying, Lord, behold, [here is] thy pound, which I have kept laid up in a napkin:
| من از تو می‌ترسیدم، چرا که مرد سختگیری هستی. چیزی را که متعلق به تو نیست می‌گیری، و از جایی که نکاشته‌ای، محصول درو می‌کنی.“ | 21 |
For I feared thee, because thou art an austere man: thou takest up that thou layedst not down, and reapest that thou didst not sow.
| «پادشاه او را سرزنش کرده، گفت:”ای خادم بدکار، تو با این سخنان خودت را محکوم کردی! تو که می‌دانستی من اینقدر سختگیر هستم که چیزی را که مال من نیست می‌گیرم و از جایی که نکاشته‌ام، محصول درو می‌کنم، | 22 |
And he saith unto him, Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee, [thou] wicked servant. Thou knewest that I was an austere man, taking up that I laid not down, and reaping that I did not sow:
| پس چرا پولم را به صرافان ندادی تا وقتی از سفر برمی‌گردم سودش را بگیرم؟“ | 23 |
Wherefore then gavest not thou my money into the bank, that at my coming I might have required mine own with usury?
| «آنگاه به حاضران فرمود که سکه را از او بگیرند و به آن خدمتکاری بدهند که ده سکه سود آورده بود. | 24 |
And he said unto them that stood by, Take from him the pound, and give [it] to him that hath ten pounds.
| «گفتند: قربان، او خودش به اندازه کافی دارد! | 25 |
(And they said unto him, Lord, he hath ten pounds.)
| «پادشاه جواب داد: بله، این حقیقت همیشه صادق است که کسی که بتواند آنچه را که دارد خوب به کار ببرد، به او باز هم بیشتر داده می‌شود، ولی کسی که کارش را درست انجام ندهد، آن را هر چقدر هم کوچک باشد از دست خواهد داد. | 26 |
For I say unto you, That unto every one which hath shall be given; and from him that hath not, even that he hath shall be taken away from him.
| و اما مخالفینی که نمی‌خواستند من بر آنان حکومت کنم، ایشان را اکنون به اینجا بیاورید و در حضور من، گردن بزنید.» | 27 |
But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay [them] before me.
| پس از بیان این حکایت، عیسی پیشاپیش دیگران، به سوی اورشلیم به راه افتاد. | 28 |
And when he had thus spoken, he went before, ascending up to Jerusalem.
| وقتی به بیت‌فاجی و بیت‌عنیا واقع در کوه زیتون رسیدند، دو نفر از شاگردان خود را جلوتر فرستاد، | 29 |
And it came to pass, when he was come nigh to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount called [the mount] of Olives, he sent two of his disciples,
| و به ایشان فرمود: «به دهکده‌ای که در مقابل شماست بروید. هنگامی که وارد شدید، کرّهٔ الاغی را خواهید دید که بسته‌اند. تا به حال کسی بر آن سوار نشده است. آن را باز کنید و به اینجا بیاورید. | 30 |
Saying, Go ye into the village over against [you]; in the which at your entering ye shall find a colt tied, whereon yet never man sat: loose him, and bring [him hither].
| اگر کسی پرسید:”چرا کُرّه را باز می‌کنید؟“بگویید:”خداوند لازمش دارد!“» | 31 |
And if any man ask you, Why do ye loose [him]? thus shall ye say unto him, Because the Lord hath need of him.
| آن دو شاگرد رفتند و کرّه الاغ را همان‌گونه که عیسی فرموده بود، یافتند. | 32 |
And they that were sent went their way, and found even as he had said unto them.
| وقتی آن را باز می‌کردند، صاحبانش پرسیدند: «چه می‌کنید؟ چرا کره الاغ را باز می‌کنید؟» | 33 |
And as they were loosing the colt, the owners thereof said unto them, Why loose ye the colt?
| جواب دادند: «خداوند لازمش دارد!» | 34 |
And they said, The Lord hath need of him.
| پس کرّه الاغ را نزد عیسی آوردند، و جامه‌های خود را بر آن انداختند تا او سوار شود. | 35 |
And they brought him to Jesus: and they cast their garments upon the colt, and they set Jesus thereon.
| هنگامی که عیسی به راه افتاد، مردم رداهای خود را در مقابل او، روی جاده پهن می‌کردند. | 36 |
And as he went, they spread their clothes in the way.
| وقتی به سرازیری کوه زیتون رسیدند، گروه انبوه پیروانش فریاد شادی برآورده، برای همه معجزات و کارهای عجیبی که او انجام داده بود، خدا را شکر می‌کردند، | 37 |
And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen;
| و می‌گفتند: «مبارک باد پادشاهی که به نام خداوند می‌آید! آرامش در آسمان، و جلال در عرش برین باد!» | 38 |
Saying, Blessed [be] the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.
| آنگاه برخی از فریسیان که در میان جمعیت بودند، به عیسی گفتند: «استاد، پیروانت را امر کن که ساکت باشند!» | 39 |
And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples.
| عیسی جواب داد: «اگر آنان ساکت شوند، سنگهای کنار راه بانگ شادی برخواهند آورد!» | 40 |
And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.
| اما همین که به اورشلیم نزدیک شدند و عیسی شهر را از دور دید، برای آن گریست، | 41 |
And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it,
| و گفت: «کاش می‌توانستی درک کنی که امروز چه چیزی برایت آرامش و صلح می‌آورد، اما اکنون از دیدگانت پنهان شده است! | 42 |
Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things [which belong] unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes.
| به‌زودی دشمنانت، در پشت همین دیوارها، سنگرها ساخته، از هر سو تو را محاصره کرده، عرصه را بر تو تنگ خواهند نمود. | 43 |
For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side,
| آنگاه تو را با خاک یکسان کرده، ساکنانت را به خاک و خون خواهند کشید. حتی نخواهند گذاشت سنگی بر سنگی دیگر باقی بماند، بلکه همه چیز را زیر و رو خواهند کرد. زیرا فرصتی را که خدا به تو داده بود، رد کردی!» | 44 |
And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.
| سپس وارد معبد شد و کسانی را که در آنجا مشغول خرید و فروش بودند، بیرون کرد و بساط آنان را در هم ریخت، | 45 |
And he went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold therein, and them that bought;
| و به ایشان گفت: «کتب مقدّس می‌فرماید که”خانهٔ من خانهٔ دعا خواهد بود“، اما شما آن را لانۀ دزدان ساخته‌اید.» | 46 |
Saying unto them, It is written, My house is the house of prayer: but ye have made it a den of thieves.
| از آن پس عیسی هر روز در خانۀ خدا تعلیم می‌داد. کاهنان اعظم، علمای دین و مشایخ قوم در پی فرصتی بودند تا او را بکشند، | 47 |
And he taught daily in the temple. But the chief priests and the scribes and the chief of the people sought to destroy him,
| اما راهی پیدا نمی‌کردند، چون مردم همواره گرد او جمع می‌شدند تا سخنانش را بشنوند. | 48 |
And could not find what they might do: for all the people were very attentive to hear him.
